Current Trade-In Deals

Trade in 2 games, preorder any game for 29.99!! (July 19th - ??)

Restrictions and rules below:
Alright, I read the map today and here's some stuff on the new deal:

- As has been said, it starts on July 19th. I cannot remember offhand the date that it ends.

- Trade any 2 games, get any preorder for $29.99. I forgot to check if XBox 360 games are included in the deal, but as most people have already stated, I highly doubt it.

- The two games that are traded in for the deal must retail for at least $7.99 each (preowned price).

- The credit can still be applied towards the $29.99.

Game Pass

Rent unlimited games for a month. You can have one game (or 2 depending on the pass) out at a time and can return it whenever you want and switch it out as many times as you want.

1 out = $14.99 the first month....$19.99 thereafter

2 out = $24.99 the first month...$29.99 thereafter

You must have a credit card/check card to signup. Checkcard must be visa, mc, amex, dc, or diners club. You can also do it by getting a prepaid visa, mc, dc or amex card with at least $1 on it so it will clear the authorization and just pay for it each month (very tedious though). You can cancel at any time. Good on any rental game (gamecube, psp, nds, gba, xbox, ps2).

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

$0.99 Retro Games

All Dreamcast, Snes, Genesis, and Nes games are $0.99. Games available depend on which store you go to. Games may not be marked as $0.99, but they will ring up that price. Trade in value of all games on these systems is now $0.25.

GAMERUSH WEBSITE

This should have alot of stuff so please just search around the website before asking questions.
Cory, good question. I was actually wondering the same thing today, as there's a bunch of DS games that I'd like to preorder. I may try it at work tomorrow, but I don't get home til almost 9 so I doubt it would be much help to people here.
No, I beleive the flyer lists 'In-Stock' only.

So, come Tuesday, will we see tumbleweeds again?
i admit my own spelling and grammer flaws but who cares this thread is for game rush deals not an English class. You my friend need to get a life.
I have no life because I like to correct peoples grammar? Hmm, very logical. Maybe you should get a life because with spelling and grammar like that, you cannot be very intelligent. Spend more time in school, and spend less time being a cheap moron. :applause: Again, bravo my friend. Keep responding, it is working very well for you.

I got a question -

My CC had lots of copies of Druaga and KoF: Maximum Impact. My friend picked a copy of each to trade - he's under my name on the trade agreement.

This mean old bitch is working there - when my friends goes to trade in the two games, she mentions to him "I know you're with that guy (me) over there, and I don't know how you're getting so many of these titles whether it's by flipping or what... but the next time you trade them, I'm banning you from Gamerush."

What the hell? There has been at least two weeks difference between when I traded in 2 copies of Druaga under MY name. My girlfriend traded one under her own seperate account, and my friend just did his today (he's under mine).

What rule am I breaking? The only rule I've heard of is 2 of the same title in the same day, and I'm not even close to breaking this rule.

I'm really starting to despise Gamerush - I'm taking this up with both the store manager, and if he does nothing then the DM.

She glares at me and my gf as we come in, and basacially treats us and all the other employees like shit. I've had more than enough of it.

Friend got me a used platinum wavebird with the credit for 9.99 though, score!

will somebody just ban this shithead so we can get back to the deals? my god, you're all behaving like children. nobody here cares about our grammar. talk about it in the off-topic forum if you feel the need. seriously, this thread is meant for gamerush-related posts, not bitching about the comments of other users.

now, to keep this post topical, i picked up 4 DS games and saved a total of $42! that's like getting a whole game for free! thanks guys!

I bought Meteos last Tuesday at 30% off. Today I got .............

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory(DS) it was $39.99 (WTF) before the 30% off but got it anyway

and

Kirby Canvas Cursed (DS)

I feel I got good deals. Is Splinter Cell supposed to be out yet?

yeah, splinter cell came out on the 28th... it's one of the games i got too.

but i'm warning ya, it's not very good. i'm hoping that multiplayer is better.

yea i kno, we're typing on a game forum, not typing up some english paper. who cares if someone doesnt take the extra 2 seconds to capitalize every other letter, let it go and get back to the games

Are you serious? How bad is it? Is it "trash" bad or "not for me" kind of bad?

Oh and what part of Dallas are you from?

If you really wanted this disscusion to be over, you would of stopped insulting me before. :applause:

Anyway... I traded 2 copies of KOF:MI for $50

gamerush has really disapointed me lately, the buy 5 get 5 PO is worthless in that theres never even 5 games that are 14.99 in the stores around me, none the less 10. the 9.99 and under games are all 02 madden or freestyle soccer, although i did pick up some freestyle soccers awhile ago to trade in to FYE for 17 each :D. if no new tradein deals come up, i might have to find good games to transfer my credit to ebgames.

lol ive never talked to u before...unless ur the same person as that other guy who critized me for asking some1 to check out the stock of 14.99 under gc games whille they're at gamerush...then yes, yes you deserved to be insulted :D

it's somewhere between "trash" bad and "not for me" bad... i admit, i'm not the biggest fan of these kinds games, but i really like the goldeneye ds game. and i liked the console versions of splinter cell. this one just seems a bit rushed and... clunky. like they wanted to get it out before the good stuff is released later this year, in hopes of getting sales based on a lack of other options.

and i'm in grapevine... where you at?

I really like the buy 5 get 5 free deal, but it pisses me off to no end that Blockbuster/Gamerush employees are not educated on how to actually ring up the sale. I drove around to 2 Gamerushes today. One of the stores did not know about the deal and had no signage or flyers about the deal. At the second store I visited, the guy working the Gamerush counter had to ask his manager about the sale. When she explained to him how to ring up the sale, she told him to scan all 10 games, then scan the barcode 5 times. Of course, this will make the 5 cheapest games free. The correct way for an employee to ring this sale is to pair the most expensive games together, scan them, scan the barcode, then scan the next most expensive pair, etc. I enjoy checking out what games other stores have in stock, but Blockbuster has some of the most clueless, inept employees that I have ever dealt with.

That's BS on every level. You ring everything, then you scan the coupon. If the employee is nice, they'll ring it up so you save the most. But, from corporate, you do it all at the same time.

The issue is that the rules that Gamerush has are very fluid, and that's going to be the crux of most of your issues.

Here is the trading agreement:

PRODUCT TRADING

A Trading Authorization must be completed by the primary account holder on the BLOCKBUSTER® membership prior to trading. Each authorized trader must be a BLOCKBUSTER member or an authorized renter on the membership account under section 3, below. The primary account holder who is signing the Trading Authorization must also be the parent or legal guardian of all authorized renters on the account that are minors. By signing the Trading Authorization, the primary account holder is giving permission to authorized renters, including minors, to trade DVDs, game software, game hardware, game accessories, and other consumer goods designated from time to time by BLOCKBUSTER ("goods") on his/her BLOCKBUSTER membership account. All authorized renters on an account that is authorized to trade will also become authorized traders. The primary account holder is solely responsible and liable for all goods traded on his/her account whether the trade was conducted by the primary account holder or an authorized renter. DVD and game software titles, game hardware platforms, and other products eligible for trade will be determined by BLOCKBUSTER in its sole discretion and may vary from store to store. BLOCKBUSTER may elect not to accept a particular title (including game software titles for a particular game platform) or an individual copy of a particular title, a brand of game hardware unit or any individual unit, or other product for any reason, including, without limitation, suitability of title for resale by BLOCKBUSTER, inventory needs, or the condition of any individual product or packaging. Only commercially released DVDs with Region 1 or Universal Region coding and commercially released game software for designated game platforms are eligible for trade. No A-rated games, X or NC-17-rated DVDs, unrated DVDs or games not otherwise carried for resale by BLOCKBUSTER, or screeners, promotional or demonstration copies accepted. The trading buy back price shall be at the sole discretion of BLOCKBUSTER. Prices are subject to change at any time and from time to time. All trades are FINAL and cannot be reversed. BLOCKBUSTER will not return specific goods traded. BLOCKBUSTER may limit number of copies of a title and overall number of goods accepted in a trade transaction or from a member or authorized renter without advance notice, in its sole discretion. Store credit will be given for all trades. No cash will be given. The customer conducting the trade may elect to apply the store credit to the primary account holder's BLOCKBUSTER account ("account credit") or, if the store credit amount is $5.00 or more, to a BLOCKBUSTER Stored Value Card. Account credit is not transferable and is only available on the primary account holder's BLOCKBUSTER account at the store where the trade was conducted. Account credit will be applied to any outstanding balance on the primary account holder's BLOCKBUSTER account, and is available for use by the primary account holder and all authorized renters. BLOCKBUSTER Stored Value Card can be used at any participating BLOCKBUSTER store location towards the purchase or rental of any eligible merchandise or payment of any outstanding balance on a BLOCKBUSTER account up to the remaining value of the Stored Value Card. BLOCKBUSTER Stored Value Cards are not redeemable for cash, and will not be replaced if lost, destroyed or stolen. Use of a BLOCKBUSTER Stored Value Card constitutes acceptance of its terms and conditions including expiration, where applicable (see back of Stored Value Card for specific terms and conditions of use). Trading is only available at participating BLOCKBUSTER stores. Game hardware and accessories trading is only available in select GAME RUSH® locations. See Trading Authorization for additional details.

The bolded portions are particularly significant. All of the trades you conducts are soley at Blockbuster's disgression. (or one of it's agents, in this case, "the mean bitch")

In you're case, you're doing just about all you can do, taking it up the proper channel, and up to corporate if necessary. With the exception of the hostile attitude, however, they are well within thier rights to do as they have done.

Yep. That's the way all of these deals work at any store. If they clerk is nice, they may stack it in the way that favors you, but they are under no onus to do so.

I'd have no problem is she had said "I'm sorry, we can't take this title from you anymore". It's the fact that she told me I'd be banned if I tried to trade that title in anymore, or anyone associated with me (like my gf who has her own account).

Listen here, boy.
You've yet to offer anything productive to this converstation rather than a big pile of whining and complaining, even whilst hiding under the banner of offering up detente.
I can understand how you may still not grasp the subjective nature of your question, and how people could see it as rather imposing upon a person and of little real value, and I'm willing to give that a pass. I dropped the issue, and continued on.

If you feel like continuing on with this garbage, do it via PM. I highly doubt anyone wants to read it in the thread proper. DocRamon's read on it is probably fairly telling of what everyone else thinks... if you actually want to talk about the deals like you say, you should really consider not dredging up garbage from previous days.

By the way, DocRamon, which games did you pick up?
Did you pick up Bomberman as one of those titles?
I've seen it around, but I'd really like to here someone else's opinion on it before buying it... especially if there is a chance of an online enabled version down the road.

She's within her right to do that, though.
They've probably been tracking your account, and seeing that dealing with you hasn't been, and likely isn't going to be profitable to them. That's to the trade agreement that is obviously tilted in thier behalf, they're just operating in thier best interest. Sure, the matter probably could have been handled with more tact, but they must see your trade habits as negative to the store, and based upon the rules that they operate under, they have every right to do so.
It may not give anyone the warm fuzzies, but hey, this is a business they're running.
They exist to make profits, not to enable your construction of a game collection.
They'll be happy and nice so long as they feel they're profiting from your relationship. As soon as it stops benefiting them, they'll be happy to pull the plug.

Sure, it's not nice, and it may not even be fair.
But it's legal, and it's what they do.
Unless you can question it's legality favorably, rallying against it would be like spitting into the wind.

If it really does bother you, shop elsewhere. Money talks.

i picked up splinter cell, meteos, need for speed, and tiger woods. (closer and closer to a complete collection... only 2 games away!)

but i got bomberman when it was $20 at fry's... it's pretty good. the single-player game is kinda dull, but the multiplayer version is great, if you've got a lot of friends to play with. 8 players on a single card, and across 2 screens. but truthfully, $20 is probably on the high end of what it's worth. i'd wait for a price drop down to $15 or so, unless there's really nothing else you're interested in and you have the cash to burn.

Well, I've never spent a dime in their store (it's all been credit, except for Meteos which was under cost) so I see where you're coming from.

I'll still file a complaint against her, but she seems to be the only GR employee out of three stores who's ever had a problem with my trade in history - I'll just hit up a different store.

It's her attitude above all else that gets me, like she is some kind of all powerful being simply because she works at a Gamerush.

CocheseUGA, I'm not sure if you work at Gamerush or just think that you know a lot about the precedings there, but what I posted was not "BS". The latest Gamerush map discusses the buy 5 get 5 free sale in length and also describes the proper way to ring the sale. What I posted was not the way that I believe the sale should be rung, but the way that corporate Blockbuster, through the map, instructs employees to ring the sale.

how much do u think jswiney would fetch at gamerush, they prolly wouldn't even give me the minimum 1.50 or mr "my views and opinions represent those of the entire board". i can understand how you are just a lonely jerk who attack others who are simply asking questions (check what gc games they still have under 14.99 in stock [ALWAYS less than 10 so no hassle] next time you go to the store) on a game forum due to your low self esteem and attempt to create this macho figure for urself on a game forum, but being the larger person here i have already let it go, and so should you (its not really good for you're health, try to get help for it alright?). next time u see a question you can't comprehend, don't go on talking nonsense and let someone else answer

btw americanpierg= she

Went up earlier today and traded in the following (all Xbox).

Doom 3 - $30
NBA Street V3 - $30
MVP Baseball 2005 - $14
ESPN NBA 2K5 - $8

I then picked up Tales of Symphonia for $14 after the 30% off discount.

It's really hard to take someone seriously when they use "u" for "you" and "urself" instead of "yourself". It makes you seem less intelligent, or under educated at best, leaving you open to further criticism . You should start by learning a command of the english language. This seemingly inconsequential skill can garner respect from the very beginning of an argument.

well this morning i sold

star fox assult - $30 (bought for 25 earlier with 50% nintendo titles so was surprised at getting 30 back)
paper mario - $25 (also bought with 50% off)
mario tennis - $25 (ALSO boughht with 50% off)
FFCC - $10

bascially i was payed 5 dollars to rent 3 games for a month, beat starfox, paper mario, and mario tennis, got bored of them, and FFCC was worst game ive ever played. was contemplating on whether to keep them for later tradein deals that arises, but decided to drop them before the prices drop, finally picked up RE4

well im 17 and this is how i talk on AIM, and considering that this gaming forum shares more similarities to AIM than it does an english class, id rather save myself the extra 2 seconds than worrying about spelling and capitalization and all that stuff... kinda hard to talk to 5 people at once with the shift key ... an ironic little fact: correct typing makes u look like an weirdo when chatting...weird huh lol

I hate to interupt all of this bitching and moaning, but my local BB, which is not a gamerush, has all games $30 or less. This includes tekken 5, repbublic cammando, etc.

And laziness, undoubtedly, permiates many other aspects of your life as well.

Slang talk with friends is fine and dandy, but talking like an idiot really isn't "cool".

On a lighter note, since the 50% off accessory sale ends tomorrow, the Brighton, MI Gamerush still has 2 wavebirds for $10 each and one eyetoy for $15. Everything else is generally picked over as is probably the case with most other stores. Just FYI.

damn, I was hoping it was pretty good. Well, if nothing else I'll trade it in soon if I can't return it.
I'm in Dallas, the Oak Cliff area.

Thanks. I needed someone to talk me out of buying it while it's on this sale.
It's one of those games that's right on the edge of being worthwhile, but thanks to your advice, I think I can wait (now, if they release a slightly enhanced version with online, I'll be all over it.)

That makes perfect sense. Even from what you've said, it does seem that the person has been going somewhat out of thier way to be a hassle. Telling someone that they'll be banned is one thing, but if there is a pattern of poor service, that is a rather valid complaint to take to corporate, or at least a Store or district manager.

how much do u think jswiney would fetch at gamerush

Who's jswiney?

they prolly wouldn't even give me the minimum 1.50 or mr "my views and opinions represent those of the entire board".

Unfortunately, nothing to that effect was ever expressed or implied. My opinions are my own, even if they may be echoed by others on the board.
If you were capable of a civilized converstation, I'd be happy to consider your grievances. However, a petulant child's whining is rarely fertile ground for promising ideas.

i can understand how you are just a lonely jerk who attack others who are simply asking questions (check what gc games they still have under 14.99 in stock [ALWAYS less than 10 so no hassle] next time you go to the store) on a game forum due to your low self esteem and attempt to create this macho figure for urself on a game forum, but being the larger person here i have already let it go, and so should you (its not really good for you're health, try to get help for it alright?).

You still don't seem to grasp the subjective nature of the question you asked. Bmulligan's taste in games very likely is different than yours. Your question was inherently subjective, and rather imposing on him.

You're the bigger person, eh? So then, why'd you resurrect the issue?
It was your previous post answering "aaa" that kicked this back up.
This issue was dead and buried, until you saw fit to throw out another insult.
You're hardly one who could sieze the moral high ground at this point.
More aptly, you're coming off a whiny child, jumping and stamping and shouting until they get thier way.
It's hardly becoming, or productive.

next time u see a question you can't comprehend, don't go on talking nonsense and let someone else answer

Insulting my intelligence, eh? Yep, that's going to really conclude any disagreement more effectively.

btw americanpierg= she

Good for you, though that's really neither here nor there.

I wonder how Gamerush plans to deal with all of the games people are buying on this deal... I have a sneaking suspicion that the next time a trade in promo comes up, a significant portion of them will be coming right back, lest they change the deal to prevent that.

Anybody knows how much those following games fetch? (all from CC 9.99 deal)
DS
Rage Racer
GC
Tony hawk's UG 2
PS2
Rumble Roses
World Tour soccer 2005
The nightmare of druaga $15???
Project: Snowblind
blood rayne 2
XBOX
Cabela'sDeer hunt 2005 season
Project: Snowblind
SNK vs Capcom SVC chaos
Bloodrayne 2
SRS Street racing Syndicate $10???
Thief Deadly shadows

Thanks

Hopefully I can use them to get some preorders done. (according to a previous post, the trade 2 get new preorders at 29.99 will be back at the end of july.)

As mercurial as trade in values are, finding out the price now wouldn't do you much good if you plan to trade them nearly a month from now.
However, Since it usually seems 15% off what they'd sell it for (35 for a 50 dollar game, etc), you'd probably be looking at about 10-15 per unless there's one of the rare outliers amongst them (like Daruga fetching $20 while it was easy to find for $10)

Though, I really think your best chance at getting a concrete answer with a good turn around time would be to just call your local store... the only ones most people will know at this point are the ones that they consider thier big money makers (Nightmare of Daruga, etc.)

Snowblind gets $11
POP:WW gets $14
Nightmare of Druaga gets $15.50
I would assume RR gets $12
SRS gets $12.50

The best deal is KOF:MI which gets $25.

Those are all of the ones I know.

Considering the volume of cheap games still taking up space in most Gamerush stores, I have a sneaking suspicion they will not be taking trades for games they sell at $14.99 or less on future trade deals.
Fullmetal Alchemist - $20
Hot Shots Golf Fore - $12.50

Now to find a gamrush that has BG&E for Gamecube...wish me luck
I'll keep my eyes open, Nigel.

all the LA circuit city stores were pretty cleaned out when i got there, saw a couple of snowblinds ps2 (didn't buy cuz i wanted xbox) and some druagas but otherwise nothing of trade-in value, i think this sale is one of those that is not worth it for trade-in potential, it is pretty disappointing how few games were left by 1pm, sadly they weren't holding any in the back room to disperse as bin refill fodder

I just want to have an idea about the trade-in value of all the games I bought, so that I can return the low trade-in value games back to CC. Thanks for your suggestion

i guess the question really is what is the equivalent in blockbuster dollars for $11 in hard cash?

for me, i would say if you can't get $18 for a game, it is probably not worth it

Thanks. Been fooling around with BG&E on some sort of game on demand type service (NDA's are fun!) and its pretty damn cool...im just not big on playing games like that on PC.

well just went through 7 gamerushes all within a 20 miile radius of me, some are emptied of all 14.99 games, with tons of 16.99 games still in stock, couldnt find any 14.99 gamecube games anywhere, but xbox games were all over the place. the b5g5 sucks for GC owners, but for ps2/xbox its awesome. btw i love how some places dont have a gamerush, and theres so many here, theres three certain areas that have 3 gamerushes each that are a 5 minute drive from each other

I'll pickup few King of Fighters: Maximum Impact $10 then trade-in at GR for $25 .... I wonder these GBA games worth $20.99 after 30% off disocunt ?

Zelda: minish Cap
Fire Emblem: Stones
WarioWare: Twisted
Riviera (if i get lucky)
Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories
Kirby & The Amazing Mirror
