Current Trade-In Deals

Trade in 2 games, preorder any game for 29.99!! (July 19th - ??)

Restrictions and rules below:
Alright, I read the map today and here's some stuff on the new deal:

- As has been said, it starts on July 19th. I cannot remember offhand the date that it ends.

- Trade any 2 games, get any preorder for $29.99. I forgot to check if XBox 360 games are included in the deal, but as most people have already stated, I highly doubt it.

- The two games that are traded in for the deal must retail for at least $7.99 each (preowned price).

- The credit can still be applied towards the $29.99.

1 out = $14.99 the first month....$19.99 thereafter

2 out = $24.99 the first month...$29.99 thereafter

You must have a credit card/check card to signup. Checkcard must be visa, mc, amex, dc, or diners club. You can also do it by getting a prepaid visa, mc, dc or amex card with at least $1 on it so it will clear the authorization and just pay for it each month (very tedious though). You can cancel at any time. Good on any rental game (gamecube, psp, nds, gba, xbox, ps2).

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

$0.99 Retro Games

All Dreamcast, Snes, Genesis, and Nes games are $0.99. Games available depend on which store you go to. Games may not be marked as $0.99, but they will ring up that price. Trade in value of all games on these systems is now $0.25.

This should have alot of stuff so please just search around the website before asking questions.
They changed policies since May 1st, huh? Sure. Whatever you say.

And I doubt BB would have two seperate directives for GR and non-GR stores. They aren't that bright. Then again, at least not in April when I checked in on a GR store in GA. But, just to check again, I'll stop in and speak to my former co-workers and look at the current MAP myself and looksee what it says. If there's anything I learned about the company (besides the CEO being a piece of shit) while I was there, they don't want the customer to ACTUALLY save money.

(And since you still work for that POS company, I wouldn't exactly be tossing 'ignorance' around.)
Dr.F works at a local GR. He knows what he's talking about. He's helped this thread many times. As the person who started these threads in the first place (me) ive not only seen him help out online, ive seen him in-store.

Second thing: Its now been two months since May 1st...and in that time they ended a promotion that was supposed to go until September...something they hadnt done before. So, things do change

That's fine and dandy, but I know what I'm talking about, too. I co-trained 5 former or current SMs in this district (I think 2 quit due to how the company treated them), and I think I might know just a little about how the company (like you said, at least up to May 1st) worked.

Things do change, but one constant is this: BB is bleeding money. The board is on thin ice. Changing policies to one where the customer saves money when they really don't have to doesn't make sense. The pass programs are one thing, where they can at least give the impression that they have a better consistancy of money flow. But it's all fucking parlour tricks anyways. Just talking about the company makes me want to kick Antioco square in the jiblets.

I also went to GR today and I got $16 for KOF:MI. I was kind of disappointed when I found this out, but I traded in anyway. I ended up, picking up Warioware Twisted for 22.xx and Super Puzzle Fighter Turbo for 10.xx after the 30% off. Any word if any other deals are going to be rolling there way onto our table??
not banned at all, i just dont have any GR's near me and my BB's say they dont think they will sell them since they didn't sell ps2's, xbox's, etc.
EBAY the thing. I am sure you can get most of the money back in cash.

The accessories offer is good for another week. If anyone needs PS2 Dual Shock 2s or memory cards stop by the Commerce store. There's about 20 of each, though most are behind the counter in a box because of lack of packaging supplies.

Wow - go away from the computer for a few days and this thread explodes...

Interesting news on the Monday trade-in price drops.
Jebus why cant there be a gamerush in az :(
These deals make me cry.
I just got back from Tucson. After buying a KOF:MI at the CC there on Sunday I went to my original home BB store (one I had rented movies at as long as 14 years ago). While they had the Buy 2 get 1 free on used games, they said they DO NOT take games for trade-in! They are going to get set up for it in the near future, however. I had never heard anyone here say some BB's didn't take games. Is this a regional thing, or store specific?

It's particulaly disappointing, because:
They changed the price today. Was $25 yesterday, $16 today. Guess the price changes for trade ins won't always be on tuesday now.
Now I have to take a chance on holding on to it for the new preorder deal and hope it doesn't drop further...

A side note about the CC sale - I missed out on last year's $5 summer sale (well, technically I didn't - I went on the day it was advertised, but of course everything decent had been cleared out WAY before that). This one was kind of sad - sure, there were a few people there at 10:30 AM on Sunday, but there were WAY more people crowding around the $4.99 DVD bin :D.

I had printed up a sheet of UPC's from CC games and got them price checked at BB before I went to AZ last week. NOTE that these prices are from LAST week. Most are definitely not worth it for the CC games, but I figured I'd post them in case someone just happened to have these games to trade anyway:

GC - Madden 2005: $8 (pathetic!)
GC - Baten Kaitos: $8
GC - Prince of Persia WOW: $14
GC - SRS: $12.50
GC - THUG 2: $12.50
PS2 - Project Snowblind: $11
PS2 - ASB 2005: $8
PS2 - Bloodrayne 2: $9
PS2 - Samurai Warriors: $6
?? - Shadow Ops Mercury: $6
NDS - Ridge Racer: $12

Although, as someone said above, an even trade or a $1 or $2 loss is OK when using the trade 2 for $30 preorder deal. And if they only exclude the ultra-cheapies (the $1.50 games) then these CC ones will all be good to use. Hopefully these values hold that long :D. I would expect PoP WoW to drop soon, and maybe THUG2 and most of the sports games (I didn't price check NHL 2005 for PS2 or Xbox - anybody have values for those?).

Excellent news, good Dr. I was worried after reading through the thread with everyone saying the deals ended today. I wanted to pick up another memory card and maybe a controller.

Oh, one more thing - I noticed in a response to someone getting $20.25 for NBA Street Vol. 3, someone else said that at least they made a $10.25 profit. Excuse me, maybe I missed something, but WHERE are you getting NBA Street Vol. 3 for $10? It's not in the CC sale as far as I can tell (though my list is not handy right now).
if only they had a gr store where i live
Dude - drive 30 miles up I-5 to Wilsonville! Maybe you can't make daily trips, but it is worth it for the occasional deal!

I think this was related to the CAG who was able to get Street 3 for $10... his store had several no clearance games (including Conker, Street and a few others) in the clearance bin... he asked a CC person and the guy said if it's in the bin, it's $9.99... so he went to check out and had them price adjust since they rung up at full price.

I think this is what you're referring to... but maybe it's a different guy.

Gamerush in wilsonville? I'll check that out, i live 10 miles from it here in newberg.

The EBgames in sherwood doesn't have as good of deals as the website

So we have no new deals this week?

I'd go check myself, but I don't plan on going over there until I pick up Sid Meier's Pirates next week (well, hopefully next week, if it doesn't get pushed back again). I'm afraid if I go over there now, I'll give in to the buy 2, get 1 free, and I shouldn't be spending anymore money on games right now.

the gamerush in bloomfield hills had a LARGE supply of 15 and under games the midnight the deal was over, check it out if ur interested in the b2g2PO deal

The maker of this thread (name is slipping my mind) made an awesome run at CC. Someone had put 5-10 copies of conker, mercenaries, UC2, and NBA Street Vol. 3 in the $9.99 bin. He asked an employee about the games, so they got priced checked by a different employee. They all came up as $49.99, but she said that since the games were in the bin, they had to honor it. He got like 2 copies of all of those games for $9.99 each. GO to the bragging rights forum, and you will see the thread.

haha, I got one copy a piece, please, I don't need anymore PM's from people wanting the games :p

Updated the OP - does anyone know if the buy get 1 free new PS 1 games is still going on, and the 5 for 15?

Is Mario Kart still 17.99 or whatever? I'd be more then willing to paypal the cash + driving costs to anyone who could pick it up, 44.99 here for it is ridiculous. I'd like for it to be complete, if anyone can help me out please PM me.

I live about as far from it as you do. It is the only one in the Pacific NW. I think they stuck one there because Wilsonville, in particular, is the headquarters of Hollywood Video (that's why they put it there and not right in Portland somewhere). It worked for me - I never go to the 20 or so Gamecrazy stores around here - it is all GR, all the time :D.

Though I have gotten a *few* good deals at that Sherwood EB.

Oh, hey, no problem - I thought maybe I missed another EB rebate deal or something like that - I didn't know the $10 NBA Street Vol. 3 came from a CC glitch. Just didn't want to miss out on a cheap-ass deal like that if it was nationwide.
didn't know the $10 NBA Street Vol. 3 came from a CC glitch.
Well, it wasn't so much a CC "glitch" but rather CC incompetence... but great for CAGs. Too bad I wasn't so lucky to get a couple of those good games.

I was away from my computer all weekend so I couldn't post what I got from GR this weekend, but here goes.

For about $75 this is what I got.

PS2
Grand Theft Auto
Max Payne 2
Freedom Fighters
Metal Gear Solid 3
Armored Core 2
Armored Core 2 Nexus (I think that's what it's called.)
Onimusha Warlords

Xbox
Morrorwind GOTY
Panzer Dragoon Orta

GBA
Castlevania: Circle of the Moon

DS
Super Mario 64 DS

Accessories
Sony PS2 remote
Sony 8 mb memory card
Sony network adapter
Pelican wireless controller
(2) White VMUs (Got these babies for $1 a piece)

I went with my brother, and he knew the manager there. Really cool guy. I explained to him my whole situation about not getting Super Mario 64 with my blue DS a few weeks back, and he gave me a new copy without seeing a receipt. Really awesome.

After all was said and done, I think I made out pretty good. There's a lot of games that I got that are older but ones I've been meaning to play for a long time.

I did want to try to snag Psi Ops and Beyond Good and Evil, but both of those were at another GR that didn't have any other good games.

Here's my haul from yesterday, the last day of the B5G5 sale. I spent about an hour scouring the store, searching through all their games they had on the display table, on the shelves, and under the shelves. The cashier rang the games out in pairs and took off the lower priced game from each pair (in parentheses)

Xbox
Air Force Delta Storm (!) - 12.99
Voodoo Vince - (9.99)
Otogi: Myth of Demons - 14.99
Worms 3D - (14.99)
Full Spectrum Warrior - 14.99
Deathrow - (9.99)
Burnout 2: Developer's Cut - 14.99
Time Splitters 2 - (14.99)
Tiger Woods 2004 - 14.99
Panzer Dragoon Orta - (12.99)

72.95 + 4.02 tax = 76.97 - 32.39 credit = 44.58

All of the games were complete and in mint/near mint condition except Time Splitters 2, which lacked a manual and had some kid's name written in marker on the disc.

OK, just to clear up some of the confusion over King of Fighters Maximum Impact - since I saw prices of $14, $14.50, $15.50, $16, and of course $25 posted in this thread. I JUST got back from a regular BB. I had them scan both the outside of the collector's case and the KOF:MI game itself. The game ONLY gets $14, while the entire Collector's Edition gets $16. I know others have said this but with all the other prices quoted it wasn't clear. Now we know for sure - until they change the price again :D.

Also, NHL 2005 for Xbox gets a measly $12.25 (I just asked about this one since a CC near me had a bunch of these as of last night before closing - won't bother getting one now).

Looks like I'll make a GR run just to get another PS2 memory card (by the way, I'm a relative PS2 newbie - how many cards is enough? I have 3 now, but 1 is almost full and I haven't even started to play all the RPG's I've picked up. Do I really need a 4th card though?). Then I'm in a holding pattern until further confirmation of the late-July trade-in deal...

Someone here mentioned wanting to preorder a bunch of DS games (this was using the 30% off deal which of course is expired now). However, my question to that person is have they added a bunch more to the preorder system since the list I posted (which was dated June 9th)? Wondering if they ever got around to adding Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, Metroid, Mario & Luigi, Super Mario, etc...

Hey i pm'ed you, my store has 2 or 3 copies. I'd be glad to pick you up one if you paypal me the money.

I was in and out yesterday returning a movie, didn't even think to ask so i'm asking here now. :D

Are there any current preorder deals going on, didn't see any in main post..... or new game deals? I really hate the idea of having to pay $7+tax to rent NCAA 06 just because i forgot to preorder it. My only other option now is trading in Conkers (30) madden 05 (8?) and and something else to get $50 credit. that sucks, but i dont wanna spend $.

No deals now. It sounds like there might be a trade 2 get a preorder for $30 deal (preorders only, not all new games) in late July, but with more restrictions on trade-ins (no ultra-cheapies). We have to get more confirmation of this though, as it is still at the "rumor" level now.

That would be nice....I have a few games I want to trade in, but I may just do it now...Destroy All Humans and Mercenaries. I really liked the pre-order deal though....I just wish XBOX360 will be included the next round :)

I can confirm the pre-order deal coming back at the end of July, as I know the manager at the local GR, and the manager stated that it is 100% coming back on "July 20 something". The Manager also said the deal had restrictions but stated them as "nothing too bad".

King of Fighters Maximum Impact is down to $14.00. And I spent alot of time getting bestbuy to match circuit citys price on it...

awesome news on the return of the trade 2 get 1 preorder deal. please keep us updated.

as far as PS2 mem cards. I now have 5 cards... 3 red, 1 blue, and 1 blue madcatz. 3 are completely full. RPGs take up a lot of space, as well as sports titles. Unless you have the sony HD, then you are going to need mem cards, unless you like starting all over again, which isnt too bad.

The trade in values of Conker: Live & Reloaded (XBX), DAH (PS2), Psychonauts (PS2) shouldnt drop too much before the deals come back, right? especially since I bought them on the old preorder deal, and according to GR you cannot get more credit than you paid for a game.

LOL just tried to call EB and see what they would give in credit for Conkers and just add that $$ towards my preordered 360 but it seems they dont want my business as the guy who answered the phone was an ass. LOL it's 6 pm he's prolly got a store full. Maybe it'll go to GR i dont know I"M SO CONFUSED!!!!! ;)

Saw this on GRs website http://www.gamerush.com/promo_ncaa.php

they gonna start selling NCAA 06 at mignight and have a football event. Sucks i work nights i wont get it till 10 the next day, right around my bedtime.

EB as a company isn't allowed to give price quotes over the phone, it's a waste of time even calling them.

I called Gamerush for a price quote the other day, and the lady didn't even know how to look it up on the computer.

It's a lose / lose situation.

I'm surprised they didn't threaten to ban you... I'm not allowed to trade Max Impact or Druaga at the local store again or else I'll be banned.

Luckily they both dropped price - hopefully another golden egg will come through.

Thats odd...all the EBs here in oklahoma city even the newest one will give price quotes (when I worked at GR i would call for them all the time).

Anyone know the trade-in value for
XBOX Forza, Jade Empire LE ?

Also when do they update their values?
i would like to trade them in when the new deal comes up

Not sure if this has been posted but I was able to search for games in the system and Lunar, Mario Kart, and Animal Crossing are in the system for NDS.

Hey, Cory - that's great. Thanks... Did you happen to see the retail price for those games? I'm wondering if they'll be worth using the trade-in preorder deal on. If they are $40 I might, but at $35 definitely not.

Oddly Mario Kart and Animal Crossing for $39.99 and Lunar was $29.99.

I also checked for Sonic Rush and the new Mario Bros. (checked super, smb, all I could think of) but I couldn't find them in there.

As you can tell those are my must have DS games this year (and probably everyone elses).
Cory, thought you didn't work at BB/GR anymore?
I don't.

Anyways still cool with the employees and they checked for me under all the things I asked. (still am a customer and I do still have money invested in the company)

Were you going e-mail whatever it was still?

I've been told by numerous EB's it's company policy not to.

It really pisses me off.

Man, I hope no GR management is reading this and sees that someone from your store has been letting you search the computer... might not be good for someone, you might want to edit the post

Hello everyone. I'm a BB/GR employee, just signed up recently. Wanted to let everyone know we Got XBOX360 titles in the computer. Be patient and I should be able to compile a list as early as Weds or Thurs. Remember these would most likely be LAUNCH titles or released shortly after the systems release. I'll also see if I can get any date (however off it may be) on the system launch as well.

Thanks for the info on the return of the trade in deal. The only problem for me is that I don't want any more XBOX/GC games, and DS games aren't worth saving $0-$5 on. (with the deal). If I can get xbox 360 games for $40, I will wait. If not, I will sell some of my games.
