Deal in title starts tomorrow. Not sure if it's all stores, but but the manager at the one by me said it should stack with edge- he also let me hold about a dozen dvds (ATHF box sets will be like $3 after all discounts) Happy Hunting-
I just hit up a location some 30 miles out. Ended up with multiple copies of Pokemon Gold, Silver, Crystal, Yellow, and Blue, and Super Mario Deluxe. Also ended up with single copies of Dr. Mario, Paper Boy, Kirby's Dream Land, Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge, Zelda: OoA, Magi Nation, Donkey Kong Land, Dragon Warrior I & II, Double Dragon, and Bomberman. If anyone is interested in the duplicates, they're definitely up for grabs.
I'm definitely interested in the dupes. Do you mind if I ask which store it was, so as to cross it off my list if it was one of the ones I am targeting?

It wasn't the Platt Village store in West Hills, was it?

Mall: Platt Village Shppng
6432 PLATT AVE
WEST HILLS CA, 91307 US

On another note, I just crossed three more stores, all extra-ghetto locations, off my list. Either they were already raided, or their system was way out of whack, because none of them had much of anything worth buying. Though they still had GB/GBC games, i.e. they hadn't been sent back yet. I picked up a Pokemon Silver and a Heroes of Might and Magic 2, that was it. These were the two locations almost directly across the street from each other at Hollywood Park in Inglewood on Century Blvd, and the store on La Brea near Jefferson.

I'm going to make 1 final run to a set of stores I've mapped out tomorrow, I think 5 stores total, and that will be it, other than trying to get a store to send my nearest store a copy of Survival Kids.

Some games I would have loved to have found from this sale though - the Megaman games, Metal Gear, Metal Slug, Operation: C, hell there are so many...

Picked up a nice haul of games today on a little trip today, probably about 40 or so odd titles.... no blu-ray discs though... every store shipped them to my local moviestop... but I still made off with a lot of goodies for my gameboy
... I would have loved to have found... Metal Slug...
That'd have been a neat trick. (Do you mean Metal Walker?)

karkcyo, I nearly stopped by that store, but it was an additional 20 miles out. I may hit up a store in Westlake Village. Let me know if you're visiting that location so I can pass it up. I called them about their stock, but they claimed they no longer had any available. I have a feeling the GA just didn't feel like looking for any GB/GBC stock...
That'd have been a neat trick. (Do you mean Metal Walker?)
Hmmm, LOL. I thought there was a Metal Slug game released on GB or GBC. Or maybe I'm thinking of Metal Slug Advance?

I did get a copy of Metal Walker, though. No idea what that game is about, but I think it said Capcom so I said "what the hell".

Ahhh, yeah that Platt Village store is out of the way for me as well, but sometimes I'm up in that area on business. Same with the Westlake Village store - I noticed that a few were listed as available at that store (North Ranch, I believe it is called). That store had Dragon Warrior 3 listed. Don't tell me that was bogus???

Mall: North Ranch Mall
E 3955-B THOUSAND OAKS BLVD
WESTLAKE VILLAGE CA, 91362 US
8054499230
Hours: Mon-Sat 10am-9pm, Sun 11am-6pm

^^^ That store is listed as having Dragon Warrior 3.

Just finished wiping out every store in the LA South Bay area from Long Beach to Wilmington to Carson to Lomita to Torrance. I just hit 6 stores.

The original gold mine, the Long Beach store, had gotten in another bunch of games from other stoers. From that location I got:

Little Mermaid 2: Mermaid Pinball $1.50
Mortal Kombat 3 $1.50
Donald Duck: Goin' Quackers $.75
Spider-Man 2: Sinister Six $1.20
Mario Golf $.75
Dragon's Lair $.45 (different from the other Dragon's Lair game; this one is made or published by Capcom)
Magical Tetris Challenge $1.50
Bomberman Max Red Challenger $.45
Tetris Deluxe (DX?) $2.25
Tetris Blast $1.95
Nail n Scale $1.50
Dracula Wacky Vampire (?!?! - listed at $50 on VGPriceCharts) $.45
Tetris Attack $.75
Pooh and Tigger's Hunny something $1.50
Spider-Man 1 $1.50
Little Mermaid $2.25
Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening $.45

------

Other locations were much more barren, but yielded:

Final Fantasy Legend 2 $1.50
Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages $1.50
Pokemon Crystal $2.55

Super Mario Land 2 $1.50

Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX $.45

Micro Machines 1 $.45
Snow White & the 7 Dwarfs $2.25
Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX $.45

As soon as I get that last group that was shipped to my local store, I think I will be DONE. I might try to get one of the stores that have Survival Kids to ship the copy to my store too though.

I picked up the 3 games that were shipped to my store today, and my local store's manager even got on the phone and called the nearest store with Survival Kids and asked them to send that over. He asked it there were any others I wanted, I told him Metal Gear Solid, so he looked that up, closest store is almost 1,000 miles away, the line was busy, so I will call them back tomorrow to see if they will ship it out to my store.

So I got Dragon Warrior 3, Final Fantasy Legend 3, and another copy of Dragon Warrior 1 + 2 for $3.40 or so.

Beyond that, the only games I really missed are Mega Man 1-5 (picked up Mega Man Dr. Wily's Revenge today), and Dragon Warrior Monsters 2: Coby and Juju versions or whatever the fuck their names are. There are still some stores that have them, though, so I might just call them too, LOL. That and I think I'm missing one of the Warios, and a few of the Donkey Kong Land/Country ones. And some of the Pokemon games. Ugh.

It's been a big hassle cleaning the damn carts, though. And a bunch have damaged stickers. I still have to try them all out and find out which ones have dead batteries.

Same, i just picked up some zelda's for trade fodder, and cleaning them is a pain, my method works pretty well though, i rip the stickers off then then use an eraser and erase it till there is no more residue then wipe it with a wd-40'd cloth, works well. Idk if i should hit my local gs up it has some many games listed through store availibilty, but i will never play them, i was just going to flip whatever they had 2 of.

Went to the same place that sold me Pokemon Crystal a couple weeks back. I was searching out some good B2G1 deals when I noticed that they got in a few more GB/C games! Picked up:

Yoshi
R-Type DX
Bomberman MAX Champion
Oddworld Adventures 2

All in pretty good shape. :D
Did you end up hitting the West Hills location? If not, I think I'll do so tomorrow.
Did you go today? I'm planning on hitting it first thing in the morning if not...guess I'll find out in the morning when the inventory gets updated, LOL!

Yeah, I JUST started testing all my loot out yesterday. Surprisingly, almost all of the games with battery saves still save, including the old Final Fantasy Legends, Dragon Warriors, Zeldas...a lot of them still have the old saves on them, LOL. Some of the games take a few times to fire up successfully in my GBA SP, but they've all worked so far.

It was a MASSIVE pain to clean them all, especially without damaging labels any further than they already are on the ones that are damaged. I take the Gamestop stickers off as much as possible, then apply Goo Gone via a paper towel to the residue, and if any residue is on the label I EXTREMELY carefully remove it. For permanent markers, I use a Mister Clean Eraser/Goo Gone combo, works absolute wonders. I've cleaned all of mine up, including extras, and have been testing them. One of the Zelda DX's was SO nasty, it had some nasty ass black tar like substance on the inside on the connectors.

No idea what it is/was (melted chocolate, please God don't let it be worse than that???), but I used many many Q Tips to clean it all up, along with rubbing alcohol, and tested it out and it fires up and saves fine. And that's the one I'm going to keep, because it has a pretty much flawless label, while the other two have minor damage to the label. What can I say, I'm a label whore, LOL!

BTW, I love your avatar...

all I can hope for is that someone found a copy of Metal Gear Solid for the GBC...

That was such an excellent game; definitely one of my all time favorites.

LOL man, you sound like me. I'm way too anal with my video game loot. I usually try to sanitize all controllers i get (prefer not getting used, but that's the only option with retro sometimes). I would have done the same thing you're doing with these GB/C carts but fuck, I must have at least 50 of them now and most are in lousy condition. No patience

I tried; unfortunately the store closest to me that had one according to the Gamestop computers is almost 1,000 miles away (Colorado Springs). So when I called them, they indicated that it must be a system glitch because they don't have it. I think there were only 5 or 6 that my local Gamestop guy said were even in the system, nationwide. And I wouldn't be surprised if all of those are bogus entries, and the game can't be found.

I'd love to get a copy of that, and there are a few more on my list, the highest priorities being Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil Gaiden, Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 Cobi, Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow, Mega Man 1 4 and 5, and some more I wrote down.

I hear you, DCGM, yeah it's a bit obsessive compulsive, but hell, I want my stuff to be in as excellent condition as possible, and as far as the extras go, I figure it's the least I can do when trading or selling, to make the item as presentable as possible. Generally little effort goes a long way.

I hit the store at Platt Village in West Hills today, it took the manager a while (he had to call another manager to find out where they had stashed the Gameboy and Gameboy Color games), but he eventually brought out a large box that must have had 300 or more games.

Only one disappointment, and that is that out of all those games and another location they checked, they didn't have the copy of Pokemon Red that was listed in the system, and that's the only copy listed in the greater LA area. But I did get the only copies of Street Fighter 2 and Battle Arena Toshinden in the LA area.

Altogether I picked up 50 games, it took literally 3 minutes for the system to calculate the 75% off discount then another 3 minutes for the Edge discount. Again, as with the Black Friday/Thanksgiving long weekend, the Buy 2 Get 1 Free did not apply tragically. And I still left a bunch of extra copies of stuff there. Total before discount was $396 some odd dollars, after all discounts applied and tax it was $58 something. The receipt is literally 4+ feet long. 50 GB/GBC games for less than the cost of a brand new PS3/X360 game. Ridiculous.

Here's what I got:

Dragon Warrior Monsters 2: Tara .75
Super Mario Land 1.50
Super Mario Bros Deluxe 1.50
Super Mario Bros Deluxe 1.50
Super Mario Bros Deluxe 1.50
Wario Land 2 1.50
Mega Man 2 .75
Mega Man 3 1.50
Mega Man 3 1.50
Mega Man Dr. Wily's Revenge 1.50
Pokemon Gold 1.50
Pokemon Gold 1.50Pokemon Silver 1.50
Kirby's Tilt n Tumble .75
Mr. Driller 1.50
Harvest Moon .90
Harvest Moon .90
Street Fighter 2 .45
Battle Arena Toshinden .45
Return of the Jedi 1.50
Spider-Man 2 1.50
Spider-Man 2 (different from above) 1.20
Lego Stunt Rally 1.20
Worms Armageddon .75
Golf .45
Fortress Fear (made by Akklaim, looks like Wizards n Warriors?) .45
Tom and Jerry: Mouse Hunt 2.25 (!)
Tom and Jerry (different game from above) 1.20
Aladdin .75
Jungle Book 1.50
Lion King .75
Elmo's 123 1.50
Elmo in Grouchland 1.20
Winnie the Pooh in the Hundred Acre Forest 1.50
Rampage World Tour .75
Pitfall: Beyond the Jungle .75
Tomb Raider .45
R-Type DX .45
R-Type DX .45
Mario Golf .75
Tetris Deluxe (DX?) 2.25
Alone in the Dark .75
Magi Nation .45
Wordtris .60
Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle 1.50
Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle (2 or 3?) 1.50
Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle (2 or 3?) 1.50
Radar Mission .60
Perfect Dark .60
Montezuma's Return .45

Dupes will go up on my list with priority to CAGs who have been participating in this clearance and who have GB/GBC clearance games to trade. After I clean and test them, of course.

Seems like both of the Silver and Gold versions I picked up earlier are both battery dead =( Its gonna cost a few more dollars to repair them I guess, but its still somewhat of a deal...

I went to a gamestop on 51st and Northern. The guy said they no longer have the 75% off Dvd's. According to GS the District Manager can change it at will. Has anyone else ran into this problem?

Just figured i'd chime in and let everyone know what i managed to pick up. I'm located in Milwaukee, WI:

Galaga - $1.50
Perfect Dark - $0.60
TMNT 2 Fall of the Footclan - $1.20
TMNT 3 Radical Rescue - $2.25
Doug's Big Game - $0.45
Dragon Tales Adventure - $1.95
Final Fantasy Legend 2 - $1.50
Mega Man Xtreme 2 - $1.50
Ms. Pac-Man - $1.80
Super Return of the Jedi - $0.75 label is half burnt =(
Legend of Zelda Oracle of Ages - $1.50
Kirby's Block Ball - $1.50

I live in the city and i've found that if i head out to the suburban areas the selection is much better. I'm pretty pumped about what i was able to pick up and i probably would've gotten way more but i just have no money left to spend.

with regards to blu-rays, it seems as if this deal is not active anymore. i came across about 12 blu-rays at a gamestop in woodbridge, va. the store manager said they weren't 75% off anymore, rang them up, and they rang in at full price. bummer.

That blows. I was pretty disappointed when I found a used Patriot on Blu, but yeah, the deal is officially over I think.

Gameboy loot is still $75 off, though.

"But I did get the only copies of Street Fighter 2 and Battle Arena Toshinden in the LA area."

Battle Arena Toshinden on the GB is one of the best fighting games I've ever played on a handheld... I LOVED THAT GAME.

Street Fighter 2, on the other hand, was a little two slow and choppy for my taste...

Does anyone know if there are anymore deals coming out for Dvd's? It's doubtful they will accept them for trade in again.

From what I've gathered, virtually all stores have sent away their remaining DVD stock or will do so very soon, and those that still have them no longer have them at 75% off.

Of the dozen + stores I've been to since I heard about this, only 1 had any DVDs and only 1 different one had a couple of Blu Rays. Selection of both was awful, so I didn't bother to even check if the clearance still applied.
That's pretty much what I was saying happened to me. Does anyone know if there are anymore deals coming out for Dvd's? It's doubtful they will accept them for trade in again.
Hmmm, since apparently they are being shipped away to be sold at MovieStop locations, you'd have to hit up those stores to see what, if anything, is on clearance as far as DVDs goes.

BTW I've got another bogus inventory entry...the Gamestop in Hawthorne (Hawthorne Gateway, on Rosecrans in the Costco complex by Manhattan Beach/Lawndale/Hawthorne) has Pokemon Yellow, Pokemon Gold, and a few other games still listed in the system, but all the manager had or was aware of was a Turok 2 sitting in the case. A failure is me.

But I hit up the hidden store right off the 405 on Century, since it had a Blaster Master listed in stock, picked up said Blaster Master and Aladdin. It was hilarious though, because one of the employees took the key to the Gameboy case home or they lost it, so the employee opens the bottom lock, slides the glass open as far as he can, which is a couple of inches since the top lock is still locked, and tilts the entire case and shakes it to get the carts to slide to the open side. He was quite dedicated - anything for a sale, LOL.

I believe I hit jackpot today. Although, I went there for Link's Awakening for GB and I came out with everything BUT that game :(

But....

Here's Today's Haul:

Pokemon Pinball with Rumble - $.45
Kirby's Dream Land - $.75
Super Mario Land - $1.50
Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins - $1.50
Duck Tales - $.45
Duck Tales 2 - $.45
Wario Land II - $1.50
Wario Land 3 - $.60
Game and Watch Gallery 2 - $.30
Game and Watch Gallery 3 - $.45
Shantae - $.45
Metal Gear Solid - $.75
Bionic Commando - $.30
Talespin - $.45
Mario Picross - $1.50

Pretty good haul if you ask me :)

All I need now is Link's Awakening (GB) and Oracle of Seasons (GBC).

I am VERY jealous of that MGS you got! It seems to be the biggest faker in the online system. I called 15 stores (Yes, literally 15), and none had it, despite the inventory saying they did. Awesome game, hold tight to it.

Haha thanks! I plan on holding onto it :)

So anyone putting these up for trade? Is there a dedicated trading thread? I managed to get a few, but nothing that really wowed me.

I got:
Super Mario Bros. DX
Dargon Quest I&II
Batlletoads and Double Dragon
The Empire Strikes Back

Let's trade!

I ended up getting a decent score from a store I didn't even realize was selling GB/GBC games (they were pretty well hidden):

Dragon Warrior I & II - $1.50
Klax - $0.45
Warlocked - $0.45
Worms Armageddon - $0.75
Paperboy - $0.75
Resident Evil Gaiden - $0.75
Rox - $1.50
Aladdin - $1.50
Air Force Delta - $1.50
Revelations: The Demon Slayer - $0.45
Looney Tunes Racing - $0.75
Prophecy Viking Child - $1.50
Ninja Boy - $1.50
Ninja Boy 2 - $1.50
Survival Kids - $0.60
Navy Seals - $0.45
Pokemon Puzzle Challenge - $0.45
Towers: Lord Baniff's Deceit - $0.45
Dragon's Lair - $0.45
Game & Watch Gallery - $0.30
Tetris Attack - $0.75

Haha, I just found a bag with Dragon Quest III and Mario Tennis from a B2G1 they had a while ago (I grabbed those two and something for my girlfriend during some summertime flipping madness). Too late for a price adjustment, I think. ;)

But in all seriousness, though, we need the topic edited to reflect that the DVD/BD/HD aspect no longer applies, and a trading thread would be tight.

Holy crap. Metal Gear Solid, Duck Tales 2...man I'm so jealous.

And Josef, man. Resident Evil Gaiden AND Survival Kids. I'm giving both of you my bitter evil stink eye :bomb:, LOL.

For all my loot, it's taken me well over a dozen stores (hmmm, let's see...Fox Hills, Baldwin Hills, Crenshaw Plaza, Lincoln/Pico, Overland, Marina del Rey, Howard Hughes, 3 on Century within a mile of each other, Artesia/Prarie, Sepulveda/Crenshaw, Torrance, Lomita, Wilmington, Carson, 2 Long Beach stores, I think there were a couple of others in there, plus 2 Irvine stores, oh yeah West Hills...and I haven't even bothered with Beverly Place, West Hollywood, Century City or the stores closer to downtown and Sunset/Hollywood since I know they won't have much) to get what I've built up. 20 stores, damn.

Oh and Slim, I have a trading thread going - take a look at my post below.

Penguin, I've got extras of Link's Awakening DX (or do you just want the plain, non-DX version?), and I plan on hitting 2 final, I mean it this time, FINAL stores as soon as I can, one of which should have an OoS.

I created a trade thread specifically for this, but it's not getting much love. Take a look at my list there and see if you like anything. I'd be interested in Batlletoads and Double Dragon and The Empire Strikes Back.

Take a look at my loot and let's see if we can make the magic happen, LOL...

I was particularly happy with finding Survival Kids, especially with all of the recent talk about it on this site. I also thought Revelations was a nice find considering it's a Megami Tensei game.

The only store near me with DVDs had the B2G1 signage from the weekend sale. But since there's wasn't anything I wanted when it was 85% off, I didn't bother to ask.
if you can find a store that still has dvds, ask them to ring up 6 and see what happens.
I found a store, but the 75% discount is no longer. There were at least 5 I would've picked up, but what happens when they ring up 6? The suspense is killing me.

I just braved the elements and hit up two stores that had games I wanted in the system, a bit out of my way. Pico Rivera "Pico Town" center, and Whittier "Commerce" shopping center. Thank God I checked google maps' traffic feature to plan the best route.

Finally got a copy of Survival Kids (WOOT!!!) at the Pico Town location, along with a Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Cobi's Journey. At least it looks like Cobi's Journey; the top of the label is faded on this one, but there is one more chance of getting one at one of the stores I have left to hit.

I check the back of the Survival Kids cart, and there's a blank sticker except for the hand written number "1096", which happens to be my local store. LOL, of course this is the copy that they failed to send to my store last week after I requested it. Which reminds me - there were a bunch of games at a few locations that had similar stickers with handwritten numbers on them. No doubt there were a bunch of people that had requested to have them shipped to other stores, but looks like I got them, LOL.

The effing Commerce shopping center store indicates that it has Pokemon Blue, among other games, in stock. I get there, and all they have are NSync and other shit games. NOTHING. Dude tells me "oh we sold a bunch of Gameboy and Gameboy Color games, about 2 weeks ago. Dude took like 4 Pokemons and a bunch of other stuff." :bomb: Then why are they still listed in the system, God damn it.

Anyway, there are 4 more stores I plan to hit and that will be it, for real this time.

Survival Kids - $.60
Dragon Quest Monsters: Cobi's Journey $.75

Located a Survival Kids about 100 miles north of me. In the process of having it sent here.

The guy who has it was awfully nice, ready and willing to send it my way. My local store, however, just tried to BS me with some crapola like "we don't do that". Yes you do, bitch, you're all Gamestop and your job isn't really all that demanding, so I'm sure you can do this for me.

Will be discussing this with the store manager in the next day or so.

Nice, take care of business. And if the store manager doesn't handle his shiznit, take it to the district manager.

Finally done. For real this time. I'm not going out of my way to any more stores for this; so while there are a couple of other very local Gamestops I may hit up for other things and just check if they have anything for GB/GBC (highly doubtful), today was it for me as far as specifically targeting stores for this clearance.

I just wrapped up the final 4 stores I had planned to hit. The furthest one and first one I hit, the Duarte store at Mountain and Hamilton, had tons and tons of GB/GBC games listed in their inventory. In fact, this was the store that transferred the Dragon Warrior 3 and other RPGs to my local store. I get there and the manager tells me they've already been sent away, and that the system is just screwed up.:bomb:

So I push on, and ended up hitting the Arcadia store in the Highland Shopping Center, which was outstanding as it had a couple of bonus games not listed in the inventory online, and the 2 Alhambra stores, which were both excellent in terms of selection. Here's everything I got from the 3 stores:

Tarzan $.30
Bionic Commando (with minty label, better than my previous copy) $.45
Kingdom Crusade (?) $.45
Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 Codi (with better label) $.75
Ninja Taro (?) $.75
Magi Nation $.45
Aladdin $1.50
Donkey Kong Country 3 $.75
Return of the Ninja $1.50
Dragon Warrior 1 + 2 (flawless) $1.50
Dragon Warrior 1 + 2 (flawless) $1.50
Donkey Kong Land $1.50
Jungle Book $.75
Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs $2.25
Aladdin $1.50
Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle 2 $1.50
Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle 4 $1.50
Lego Alpha Team $.45
Jungle Book $1.50
Heroes of Might and Magic $.45
Pokemon Silver $1.50
Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening $.45
Oddworld Aventure 1 $.45
Oddworld Aventure 2 $.45
Grand Theft Auto $1.05
Sword of Hope $.45
Ninja Boy 2 $1.50

A bunch of these will be added to the trade list once I clean them up, test them, and see which ones are dupes of others I have.

Not interested in selling, but definitely interested in trading. Let me clean up and test the games tonight, then tomorrow I will take a look at your trade list. This is the non-DX version, is that the one you want? I also have a couple of extra DX versions.

yes I'm aware.

I can get/have all the DX versions in the world but I need the original (which you have)!

pm'd you! thanks!

Last night I discovered that one of my local stores is a GB/GBC dump store. They had a couple of drawers under the glass GB counter case completely full of games, all just thrown in there. The games apparently hadn't been touched in a long time, and there must have been 400+ total. They let me rummage through them, and I ended up paying $54.25 (in cheap trade credit from flipping) for the 49 games below. The manager was all excited because I was bringing up her ratings for total items sold per transaction or some such. I think I'm going back for some more stuff today or tomorrow. :D
