WELCOME TO THE NEW GAMESTOP TRADE-IN THREAD.

The new thread format will be a work in progress but this first post will be the promos that are active and useful information, but also wikified. The second post will currently be frequently asked questions but may move it into the first post. Post three will be historical trade-in values from before the list.

Well I traded in the rest of my games today, I have zero physical games at the moment for my PS4, xbox one, and 3DS :(  Sorta regret trading in BO3 but I'll be busy with Fallout 4 (digital) and the games I bought from best buy (Mad Max, Witcher 3) that by the time I want to play battlefront and COD BO3 again I think they will be on a deep discount.

No problems picking up eBay GCs still, so hopefully the policy to not allow eBay GCs with trade credit isn't widespread.

re: verizon payment, you can buy eBay GCs at gamestop and buy verizon GCs on eBay.  Easiest way, a more complicated one would be buying gift cards at gamestop and selling them to gift card websites, they usually take a 5-15% cut though.

I have another Gamestop account, one that I set up after I got nuked. It's up to 80000 points and I told the lady my email wrong when I signed up for it. I'm too scared to call and try and fix it after all these stories of stuff getting tied back to people. But damn, I'd love a free game this time of year....

I didn't do any trades yesterday but got my stuff done today. 3 Slim adapters, 2 :xb1: headsets, 2 :xb1: controllers (white & Covert), and Gears of War: judgement. Bought $150 Amazon gift cards and left the rest on the card.

Yes, some flips were better than others, but together, they add up. I used my profit to finally get a PS3 (the 160 GB Slim that's on sale for $100) and was able to cash out the rest on Gas Cards.

Thank you so much for posting this. I was at BB an hour ago and was trying to see the tivs at GS but app and site wasn't working. I decided to check in here to see if someone posted any and thankfully you did. I did Poke OR & AS, and Smash Bros for 3ds since they had it. Easy $96 at GS, bought $100 ebay to return it back.

Speaking of ST Judes, I did it 3 times, once each at the 3 stores I went to for $1 so I can get 3x points on each

$120 trade + $48 trade credit purchase.  That $1 donation will net you about 9k in points (which is close to a $10 off coupon).... don't pass on doing that, traders.

 
So eBay gift cards aren't in any way similar to PayPal credit (I think the two companies split anyways, so moot point) or Visa GC are they?

You HAVE to buy something on eBay.com itself, right? Meaning they're as good as cash assuming you're buying anything from a store that sells gift cards on eBay (most retailers).

Another tidbit, didn't Gamestop do some kind of "trade in your unwanted gift cards" type of thing? Do they take a 15%-type of cut, if not, would be pretty f'n sweet to unload family's unwanted Cici's Pizza GCs, etc.

Thanks for your help. Do you suppose the Verizon GC's are emailed/usable right away? Or wait for them to mail?

 
If you guys have the email from eBay right now its 5x points for purchases of $50 or more today and tomorrow. So if you buy a eBay GC from Gamestop and use it to buy a $100 BestBuy GC you get $10 in eBay bucks that you can use in the future.

I got that email, but I could have sworn gift cards were among the Excluded categories for that promo.

Store I hit up today had a pile of them near the registers, or you could ask.

Also, I'm not sure why the barcode/code portion of the coupon has been blocked out. I grabbed 2 and both have the same code, so it should be universal.

So its literally a coupon for what i just did . thats what confused me. I guess it just gives a trading extension. Ok i wasnt being facetious lol

Going to Best Buy tomorrow to buy some ebay gift cards with Best Buy gift cards.

 
I think it's time to find a new gamestop.  Got into with the manager again (that tried to refuse me return of a sealed Xbox One since I bought it with the PS3 trade promo).   This time it was over the headset that came with my Forza Xbox One, one without the adapter attached.  He put it in as a 360 headset and when I mentioned it, he started talking down to me saying he knows it's not for the Xbox One because it doesn't have the adapter attached.  I told him it's because the new controllers have the jack on it already, and then he turned and said it doesn't have the green ring around the earpiece.  Guy would not budge and kept insinuating that I was trying to scam him, so I said forget it and kept the headset.  Then he hit me with a $3 refurb on a $10 Wii game.  He used to be cool, but seriously, fuck that guy.
