hahaha...seconded...I always laugh at all these ebayers acting like they have a business doing this kinda stuff and rub it in people's noses. People don't care about ur pathetic "business", and these are the types of inidiviudals that'd prob do ANYTHING to turn up a profit, if even a few bucks. Go get a job, or study and make some real money.
Meh, he's entitled to make a profit. Although I have to say he was an ass about it, I don't personally see anything wrong with it.
Yeah you people bitch about someone trying to make a little money. Like you havent sold your own games or rare games for money or stand outside for an XBox 360 to put on eBay.

I didn't say a damn thing, its just too bad some of you guys get offended about people trying to make some money. Money is money, it doesn't mean I'm poor, but if there's a quick way to make some I'm going to do it. I'm poor for wanting to make money? LOL. Then you try to justify it by saying 'oh jeez im too good to put the effort into it, thats pathetic' it takes 5 minutes to set up an auction and 10 minutes to goto the postal service and write the addresses on the premade free priority mail boxes and mail them. I stood out on black Friday trying to get a computer I really needed cheap, and people beat me to it. That's what happens, its America. Idealistically everyone could buy everything they wanted for the price out there but it doesn't happen.
Maybe I was a bit harsh, but you have a pretty cynical view of things. After Hurrican Katrina, there were people looting and there were people donating time and money to help other people. So you have both kinds, even in extreme situations like that one. You don't have to take a Care Bears view of the world to think that when a whole bunch of people like CheapyD and the mods and all the posters here go out of their way to create a community, that maybe the point is a bit less every-man-for-himself and maybe a little more communal in spirit. Sometimes that means not hoarding, or sometimes it means picking up cheap local deals to sell at cost to those who want them. Some people might just be jealous of hoarders, but others of us just think it goes against the spirit of things, sort of like looting in New Orleans, even though both are easy. So anyway, good for you in making a small profit and all that. Just don't expect much support from this community.

Well I never meant to start a fight, I don't have a game system at all right now, I jsut wanted something to play and make my money back.

Geat a real job? haha, that's the funniest and most uneducated response I've heard in a long time. Sorry to jump in this arguement, but I figure since nearly everyone hates me here for selling on ebay, I may as well jump in. First off, these only cost 60.00 which isn't too bad. You could easily make a profit of 20-30.00 during the CHRISTmas season. Now, during the DDD buy 1 get 1 free sale that ended yesterday, I bought 24 Pink Panthers and 12 Seinfeld Season 4 for SUPER cheap and ended up making 400.00 PROFIT on top of my real job. So, no it's not pathetic. It's more pathetic that people don't understand the potential that ebay holds. I have made 3000.00 in the past 2 months PROFIT on top of my normal sales. Maybe that's to all the Xbox 360s I sold. I don't know. But I don't think I'll be going to the welfare office anytime soon. But how much money does a 20 yr old in college need???? lol Thanks again for the laugh.

As for the real job comment, I guess with my 3.8 GPA I'll get a pretty decent job with an accounting firm. Who knows. People do have lives who sell on ebay!
more pathetic that people don't understand the potential that ebay holds.
*Sigh.*

No, we all understand that. I think CAGs understand the "business" of our trading/selling/deal-finding ways much better than the average person.

Off the top of my head, I can think of serious sellers for this season:
Xbox 360
Stargate complete DVD sets
Mario DDR
Gameboy Casltevanias (given the 2-for-1 pack)
Games from the KB Toys sale

What we have a beef with is people obviously swaggering around and cutting deals off for people that might actually want the items instead of people who are merely looking out for themselves.

There's nothing more or less than that. It's the difference from, like illennium said, the community effect versus "look, another way to exploit both the system and people around me" instance.

However, I will concede that on things like the DDD sale, since there's essentially no way to tell if inventory at DDD will exhaust, it's nothing to worry about.

I will also concede that, for the most part, you are playing off the comercialism-frenzied public. The kind of people that drive stupid sales, like paying $40 for a 256 meg PSP Pro Duo card simply because it's right there at Best Buy, when you could easily get a 512 for the same price online, and a gig for maybe 10-15 more if you really look. In other words, if people were better/smarter consumers and watched what they did, they'd all save serious amounts of money. (I have a conspiracy theory that this might completely destroy capitalism but that's not for this thread :) ).

In other words, you're playing off parents that didn't pay attention, people who have obvious money to burn, people who stay at home and shop all day on eBay/online, etc etc etc.

It has always been said that there is a "light/dark" side to CAG. Again, we don't care that you get profit. I believe that is the CAG mentality - more games for less money, and perhaps profitting on various deals in order to gain money to buy even MORE games at even LOWER prices. We're all about that and we've always been all about that.

But we've never been about screwing over fellow CAGs for our own personal gain, and to a great extent, non-CAGs.

Someone could make the "moral" argument about how "well buying things with the intention to sell is wrong" and how you are hurting people, but I'm not going to make it, nor do I really believe in it. Mostly because I've tried telling my friends and family about CAG and places like dealnews.com, and they STILL do not use them to their advantage, and STILL pay full price for everything. So it takes a special breed to go through the trouble of saving money. In the end I'll have more games to play than they will. So you can place some blame on people who are unwilling for whatever reasons.

Man, this reply got longer than I thought.

Bottomline: Don't call us ignorant. We all know exactly what is going on and chances are we've resold things for profit. There's a fine line between doing that and being a hoarder, and quite frankly we're all sick of people attempting to pass off the buck when we call them out on it. It's a cut and dry, plain and simple label that CAGs - especially CAGs - know when, where, and how to use it and on whom.

That would be like telling a mechanic he doesn't know what a carburator is because you saw one once in your Hot Wheels book.

I'm done with this argument. Make all the profit you want. I don't really care. And I won't care until I come on this board and I start seeing people bragging about how they are f*cking me over on all the good deals and leaving me out in the cold. That'll make me resent CAG in the first place, when it's been amazing to me in the last 1.5 years, ESPECIALLY this year.

Come on now. Be smart about it and at least fool us into thinking no one is hoarding. Don't brag about it. Shit. Not a hard concept, people.

Ok I'm seriously done with this argument forever. In fact I might copy and paste this into a text document so I can remind myself that I never need to write it out again since I covered all the bases.
It comes in the standard Costco "video console bundle" giant blister pack.
Blister Pack Picture

The value pak is the Pelican value pak. Looks like ok stuff. Certainly a great deal for the bundle.
Value Pak picture (back)

Now to order the Micro->GBA cable converter from Nintendo to be able to play link games with this thing...
Wow, awesome, did not realize it came with the pelican pack, that makes me feel better for getting one before it ran out of stock. Now the peculiar thing is that no one on ebay sells the cable converter?? Strange, I'm not really inclined to go to nintendo and buy one for $8.

Damn I jus realized that I got the black one that comes wiht the silver faceplate. I purchased it so fast that I didnt even bother looking at the pic. I just thought black thats the one I want, instead Im getting silver face plate, oh well, i'll try to see if I can possibly exchange at some store later on for the 20th anniversary one.

I must thank the OP again! UPS just delivered my two Micro bundle packs and I love it. I got an early Christmas present and the other I can now wrap for a present. The Pelican accesory pack it comes with is just icing on the cake. Made my night. :)

yeah thanks again OP... i got mine from UPS yesterday.

I was suprised at the quality of the Pelican accessory kit... not bad for cheaper than free! I went to EB today and exchanged the Black micro for an anniversary edition (it's okay, I work there). So this worked out awesomely!
please move to the dead deals forum...this got my hopes up
Same here, but with the beating my wallet's taken this holiday season, it's probably for the best.

Man, you have missed the whole point. Most everyone here sells on Ebay, but coming back and rubbing everyone's noses in it - that's just rude.

If your brother gives you his baseball cards as a gift and it just so happens there's one in there worth $1 million you don't come back to him and shove the money in his face and go "Ha ha! Look what you could have had!"

Same here. This is a community of people who are here to benefit each other. When you take more than your fair share you are taking advantage of people who made information available to you out of the sheer goodness of their hearts (Ok, there are a few braggers out there too). When you empty the stock for yourself you are not just taking without giving back - you are taking (information), then taking again (GBA's that others could have had), and then rubbing everyone's noses in it ("Ha ha - you told me about the deal and now I screwed you all out of it!").

That's just rude man. As someone who got into Ebay while in College and has done pretty well with it and my career and my super-karate GPA ever since (by the way, trust me, nobody but your mom and maybe your girlfriend/boyfriend cares about your GPA), money is not the measure of a person, or of their success in life. How you treat others (especially people you don't know very well) is.
I got my micro today.Wow,it really small and picture quality really good
I just got mine today too. I hadn't looked at this before buying it. It looks as if it's going to make a nice gift now. I can't see myself playing this tiny thing. My eyes hurt just thinking about it. Nice packaging too. The box was big and nice bubble padding. Nice job goes to Costco.

Very well put Chosen1s!

I agree with Chosen, hoarding and showing off to those who couldn't get in on the deal on time (and possibly deserved it more, but what can I say? You've made a whopping 31 posts in 2 years and change) These are the kind of people that should get banned, complete annoying jackasses.

I agree although I don't see how post count has anything to do with not deserving something, many posts in these threads contribute nothing to helping others with deals. If you seriously left in only helpful posts most of these threads would only be a quarter of their size.
But yeah people who use the info found in these forums, contribute nothing, screw other CAGs out of deals, and then brag about it in an attempt to anger others here SHOULD be banned.

..but that's just my two cents.

did anybody make a copy of what the page looked like...I am wondering if I could print this and price match at at CC or BB...please let me know if any of you made a print screen copy.

Thanks

The Pelican pouch is REALLY nice - Beats the thing Nintendo included.

That screen cleaner scratched up one of my faceplate screens  Best to use a regular cleaning cloth instead.
