CAGiversary!

Hey guys, I figured since we totally hijacked that DS Lite thread to talk about everything from cider to live local music....we might as well have a dedicated thread for it. Especially since I think we definitely have the most robust discussions in the Southeast CAG forum!

I'll kick it off by describing my recent EB experience:

I hit the Northlake EB (the one with the cool manager) today to grab some B2G1 goodness. I ended up getting Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (XB), RE2 (GC), and RE3 (GC), all complete and mint for 86.65. Considering that MvC2 goes for $50-60 on ebay, I thought this to be a pretty good purchase! As I was leaving, the manager guy told me that the North Dekalb store had some rare shit right now too, and that I should check it out. What a nice guy!

Anyway, I f'n hate that EB, but I figured it was worth a trip (its not that far from home). I ended up getting complete mint copies of REZ (PS2), LoZ Promo disc (GC, the one with Master Quest), and Cubivore (GC) for $72.20. Cool.

I also got 3 used DS games (preparing for the Lite on Sun) for B2G1. All three of the games (Trauma Center, Advance Wars, and MarioKart) were complete. But, somehow, as the dipshit was ringing me up, the Trauma manual somehow disappeared from the box! Since they insist upon slapping those damned clear stickers on the edges at sale time, I didn't notice the missing manual until I was on the way home. Jackasses!! Well, they had another complete used copy, so hopefully they can help me out tomorrow....but I'm not counting on it.

In the meantime, this dude with a baby was trading in 20 Xbox games (and getting ripped off, I might add), and the clueless employees there couldn't seem to get it all worked out. That poor bastard must've been there for about 45 minutes, and still hadn't gotten the right trade in credit. UGH.

My two trips today really showed me how utterly opposed two EBs within a few miles of one another could really be. And that is why I always go out to Northlake!

On to more beer talk!!
They're on an endcap just beyond the games. At the end of printers or the like. If there aren't any there try the other endcaps as sometimes games pop up on the ones in the toy area.
Thanks for all your help, I'm going to check in the morning.

Well, enjoy my Sex Panther icon while it lasts, folks. I guess it will disappear with the pay-for-posts upgrade.

Ugh, I need to remember to go to CC this week and get a price adjustment on those two games. The 33% off sale is all week, I assume?

You know, the description seemed pretty reasonable until I read "1-day tour of Tokyo with Cheapy D". I wonder if anyone will actually believe it...

At my age, I'm pretty seasoned on Apr.l Fool's Day, so I don't really believe anything on this day.

It the program was true, that would be the biggest definition of irony in the history of the world...

I picked up Stranglehold for $15 at the N. Druids Hills Target. College Hoops 2K8 for $15 at the Piedmont location and Crackdown for $15 at the Snellville Hwy 124 Target.
Anybody see :360: Stranglehold for cheaper than $29.xx at Target in North Atlanta? Hoping to get one at the $14.xx price. Thx
North Druid Hills Target....was there yesterday, there were two copies and they scanned for 14.88. I passed, hopefully they are still there.

Anybody seen any good deals at BB around town? There is a thread about clearance games at BB but it is different store to store supposedly....

Stranglehold at the Woodstock Target has dropped to $15. I stashed the last 2 copies at the back of the middle shelf on the clearance endcap if anybody wants one.

Ooh. Hopefully it's still there on Monday.
There's a Blue Dragon here in Augusta, still marked at $41 (inside case).

I can have them scan it for me if you'd like.
$15 + $25 gas to drive from Marietta to Augusta = $40

;)

Like the new avatar. Is that Lanier? I have some pictures I took of the sunset there just like that.

I'll be in Atlanta for all of next week anyways. Everyone who isn't in the service industry here leaves for Masters week.

It's just a random sunset.

Yeah, exactly. Thanks for the offer though, I appreciate it. Been looking for BD on the cheap. I'll have to check out some of the closer surrounding Target's and see if I get lucky. Saw some Stranglehold's at the Kennesaw Target but they both ring up at $29.xx for some reason.

Went to the Acworth Walmart on Cobb Pkwy (the newer one further North - past the CC and Best Buy). Saw a bunch of Grim Grimoire's & Rogue Galaxy's in the $20 bin along with some other games. Saw a Blue Dragon in there but it rang up at 39.94 so I left it. They also have a bin mixed with Blu-Rays and HD-DVDs there for $20. Didn't see much but I also wasn't looking to buy anything. $5 DVDs were actually well sorted so you could see everything in it. Picked up Rocky I (Special Edition - with commentaries and extras), Rocky 2, Raging Bull, and Terminator 2 (2 Disc CE).

There's also a few Sega Saturn games and a couple of PS1 games at the Goodwill on Cobb Pkwy in Kennesaw. All I remember seeing was Bug for the Saturn and Virtual Pool for the PS1 among about 4-5 others. I bought WSB98 for my collection for 5.XX and Tekken 3 for the PS1. When it comes to the Saturn, if it isn't Nights or Panzer Dragoon Saga, I wouldn't know what games were there and if they were worth anything or not. The games I bought were complete and the discs were in near mint condition, no scratches or marks from what I could tell.

Don't know if anyone is interested in the $4.99 DVDs at CC this week but I picked up a few.

As of late Sun. afternoon, Perimeter had around a half dozen Kill Bill Vol.2's (I took the last Vol.1 & a Vol.2).
Cobb Parkway had 2 Children of Men left after I grabbed one (1 was fullscreen though).

Both had some copies of Rocky Horror Picture Show with Perimeter having a few more.
Perimeter also had Master and Commander, From Hell, and Breach (2-3 of each).

Of course all of 'em are standard editions but $4.99 is a good price regardless.
Ultimate Edition or Xtreme Edition? I assume it's the Xtreme.
Yes, the Xtreme edition.
Anyone seen a 60GB PS3 in the wild? GS says the closest one is in Dalton (used). :whee:
Try calling some of the gamerushes. You still have an outside chance of picking one up used from one of them.
Did everyone take advantage of the Micro Center coupon deal over the weekend?
you know it! I got:

- PGR 3 for $0.01
- Wartech for $0.01
- 2000 Wii points for $9.99

Glad to hear it. I got:

- XBL 1600 points card for $15
- Marvel Ultimate Alliance for 360 for $9
- Oblivion GOTY Ed. for 360 for $45

Duluth was definitely the better of the two options. They had a pretty staggering selection of new and used stuff. Didn't have time to do a thorough inventory, but was happy to walk out with my finds. Prices at Micro Center aren't great, but this coupon meant many good deals. Hope they offer it again in the future. I got on their e-mail list just in case.

I was able to use the coupon on Friday and Sunday at Duluth. Got the PS2 Williams pinball for $5 + tax on Friday. Came back on Sunday with my kids and got a used 360 The Outfit for $5, my son picked up PGR3 for a penny and my daughter picked up a new 360 Acme Arsenal for $10. Saw some others there that I would have picked up if I had the time to go back for more :D Hopefully the coupon comes back soon.
Got the Wii Points for $10 from MicroCenter. Pretty happy with that deal.
Yeah, Wii points were going to be my fall back yesterday, but I found those two games I really wanted for less than I was likely to find them elsewhere (after coupon). Kinda surprised that as of Sunday afternoon there was so much left to choose from (including plenty of points cards for all systems). Word of this deal must not have spread very far.

Wow, I missed the boat on that one completely. Never heard of it.

Yeah, that would have made my first trip to MC more then worth it.

Guess I'll have to wait around for another such deal.
