Hopefully we can get the second to happen. Mostly because of what akuma001 said about A/V connections in hotel rooms nowadays. Maybe there is an arcade nearby that has FG games? (CVS2/MVC2?). Shit, I knew the Rio had A/V inputs on their TV's, I'd just lug along my PS2.

Going to start planning this a couple months before, maybe around May or so. If need be, I might try and front the money for the hotel room. Then whoever is coming (hopefully at least 3 more people) who want to have a room for the weekend can pay me when they arrive.

Just want to get a better grasp on who is going FOR SURE and we probably won't know that until a couple months from now.

In a real buffet match, Beef would annihilate me. Mostly because I have not eaten at a buffer of any kind in over 6+ years. The random/fun match we are talking about is a FT3 CVS2 match, loser has to pay for the other player's dinner :)

Hank, hopefully you can make it out to EVO. Again it's still too early to plan, but Beef, myself, HeavyD, and Rolento are planning on going. HeavyD, you are staying in a room with your WA/Seattle crew right?

If the AXC/Beef CVS2 match does happen, I assure you one of us will leave the match sad, the other happy and (eventually) fat.
 
I'ma get Rolento as my assist, and he'll distract you with pretty colors and artsy things.

Man, I don't know what I'ma do today. Maybe practice with Akuma some more in HD Remix. I got my shit whooped last night, and then I was too sad to use him the rest of the night.

Yeah we're getting like 8 hotel rooms or something because theres like 35 people. Most of our plans should be finalized within a month or so I think.

We're all going to die of heat exhaustion though, haha.

I'm decent at Mahvel. I won't be winning any tournaments anytime soon at it, but I can hold my own.

So what color of buttons/balltop should I get for my HRAP EX? It's black as night, so anything will go well on it. I'm thinking of actually throwing some Seimitsu skeletons in it, just for fun.

now with all this shit going on with the CrapCatz sticks...whats a good alternative stick for ps3? i was looking at the Real Arcade Pro. 3 Fighting Stick, but the stick is too close to the buttons for me

Everyone on SRK is bitching about the guide including a tiers list, but I personally don't mind because it's not like this is something that we have to live or die by. Sure it's going to change, but it's just simply there to give new players an idea of the strength of characters.

I'm not big on LIVING for tier lists. Play who you want.

All non-casual players know who is good/who is not, so why does it matter what the guys at Prima think. Silly people :)

Not like any random player who isn't familiar with SFIV (who will be buying the guide) will be able to pick up Gief and start wailing on fools.

For example, Vega is "D" on that tier list. Thing is not too long ago I was at SJSU and saw NorCal's own Crizzle, tearing up fools left and right with him. Ended his Vega streak at about 18-19 wins.

I don't usually follow tiers, but I keep them in mind. I'll just play as whomever I want. Tiers are open to debate anyway. It's mostly opinion, unless somebody really sucks.
 
Aw, El Fuerte looked like a "B" to me. But wow, Fei is an "A"??

Hm, Sagat is usually my go-to/fallback character, too. Ironically, I was planning on rotating Sagat and Fuerte anyway, but maybe I will try re-learning Fei again. We'll see...

But take these lists with a grain of salt.

Like for me, I wouldn't be playing at a level where these lists would be really meaningful.

I don't think there's been really an "abusable" character in this game at least as far as I have read.

And if that tier list was based on who looks the coolest, Dan would be SSS Tier. :nottalking:

I am just so damn frustrated with the 90% of hdr players using them and playing exactly the same and having no clue how to even attack them.

It's amazing to me that doing 10 or more jab dps is valid high level ken play.

I only play as Chun Li and I usually have no problem defeating either of them
Main problem I have is against Guile :bomb:

you can do the like jap throw lock thing or whatever on a bunch of people who won't know what the hell to do, and after that you can do the cross up jumpy attack thing.

Noobs get owned by that shit so hard.
