dood I got fukked up by a Rose today.

there was a lot of lag, but still... without it I cant say whether or not I woulda won.

I always lose against safe players btw, all Blanka's good for is punishing. When someone plays safe, it neutralizes my playstyle...

so against safe players my strategy is to get as many throws as possible, and jus keep on keep on throwing them, but this Rose player tech'd all my throws!!!

I also lost a Blanka mirror match today, shyt was too silly.

I had him down to a pixel of health, and he had full meters so he started doing desperation supers.

He did his ultra, I blocked it, then he did his super and jus stayed there rolling, so I did my super and landed on top of his roll...

and took all his hits and died.

I was kinda like lol, never do that again

BlazBlue coming out on 6/25. :whee:

Last night I was playing a really buff cammy, and it came down to the wire for both of us in the third match. He got a knockdown on me, and started an ultra to get me on wakeup, which would have chipped me to death on the first hit.

That was when I learned that Ken's ultra > Cammy's. I felt so bad I apologized to him afterwards lol.

I learned hurricane kick > cammy's ultra in the beginning 0_o.

Well it killed her, rather than went over the ultra. Like, it stopped her in her tracks and pow!

tatsus going over stuff is hilarous though.

Pick the move with the most horizontal reach. I believe mp is a sort of uppercut on Balrog, so no on that.

anybody with a decent zangief wanna play some sf4?

so, cuz of my loss yesterday i figure i'd try to find a strategy to beat the lariat. i think jump + hp beats out the lariat like 90% of the time. then again, i just did that through training mode. i want to see how that'll work in a real match

Jekki and Bullish23?

anyone seen them? they gotta play a match asap lol

edit: wheres jekki bullish23 just checked in.

someone please notify jekki asap pleassssse

You play Honda, right? If you had SFIV on 360, I'd play you. :(

Friend of mine plays a really strong Honda against my Gief. I'm at work, but let me try to remember a few points about the matchup:
-Jump straight up fierce (I think, the one where Honda sticks his arms out) is buff as hell against Gief. It will beat the lariat many more times than it will lose, and at worst, it will trade. The only thing that I've found that will snuff it cleanly is st. rh, and that's only at a certain sweet distance. Otherwise, the st. rh will lose or trade.
-Don't get predictable with your st. rh, or Gief is gonna grab that leg and you'll eat a SPD.
-Don't go crazy with the butt bombs either. Very punishable on block, and the lariat can beat it clean in certain situations.
-Lariat neutralizes Honda's ultra. You'll just be headbutting into Gief's spinning body, and will then be hit after the animation finishes.
-Kick lariat beats headbutts clean. Punch ones may as well, but I think you have to wait until Honda is in deep.

For Honda to win this match, you need to capitalize every time you hit the jump up fierce. Follow up with the EX hands combo, then mix it up with a st. rh or ochio.
I'm sorry, I really don't care what the conventional SF4 wisdom says. There is no way Vega (Claw) is the worst character in SF4.
I second this... claw can be scary at times.

on the note of online: fuck you. I come home relaxed after a good day, hop online to play some SFIV, and I can't win any full matches and now it's made me super stressed.

I know I'm playing Dan and I'm not the world's greatest SF player out there, but I work out my shit and know I put more of an effort than most of my opponents.

I'm happy with my play style, I just hate hopw most online people play. aww fuck... I need to bang something to get rid of this stress  :bomb:

A good claw scares the crap out of me. I wish I could actually fight you.

just uh hug a pillow and count to 79.373224 in decimals not whole numbers
:)

so when im watching rog matches and like the rog player jumps in and HP and lp lp and all that gets blocked, why does most of the time the rog player backs off instead of keeps trying to attack?

I feel you man. I just hopped online in SF4 and i havent been playing for a good while, so im a bit rusty, but i faced like 10 different sagats in a row who all did the same crap, and it was getting flipping annoying. What pisses me off is i do fei longs crossover, fierce into fire kick and it takes off less then 10% of their life!! But if i whiff the kick, they tiger knee me for 30% of my life EVERY SINGLE TIME!!

I had that happen so many times i just turned off the system in fury. They need to nerf the living crap out of sagat.

yeah some moves feel like damage needs to be fixed, but I'll probably be bitched at by Ken players...

I say bump up Dan's damage and that's it

I learned over the past week Dan's jump taunt is actually helpfull: if you do his taunt right when you jump, it basically changes the jump into a high jump. I've gotten over some FP Shoryukens this way.

Sorry I sucked so much gigan, hadn't played any SF4 for weeks til' today >.<

Everything was fine til' that last match, I turned on the turbo on my stick and didn't know how to turn it off, then the online went wonky and voila, chaos.

I was trippin' out though when you dizzied me with just two hits from Gief, I was all like wtf? o_O

For some reason I could not block El Fuerte's attack jumping off the wall, I think I held back but it never blocked, so that got annoying too :/

Ahh damn, once I'm finished with RE5 I'll start puttin' in some work with SF4...

They're not backing off... most of the time in that instance where it looks like he's backdashing, it's cuz of either a broken throw, or he doesn't wanna get owned trying to string together.

Also backdash can bait out some opportunities to hit em hard.

thanks markman,

if anyone is following

and the third place match is Option.Iv vs Bullish23!

Next months ps3 tourney will be Best 2 outta 3 matches with best 2 outta 3 rounds.

hopefully i see u guys join next months :) it will Most likely be on a weekend.
When I play Dan I feel he can't take hits like a man :whistle2:(
I feel he takes more damage than other characters, but I know I'm wrong.

I think my real problem at the moment is that I am playing without a stick and haven't spent time with him in practice mode.

how do u cancel moves? thats crazy that the viper player just cancels the move before it is executed, is that just viper or can rog or blanka doit to?

GG's to Option tonight. Sorry I had to drop out of our games early. A good friend of mine who is going to school in Georgia sent me a friend request. I never get to play that foo in SF anymore.

How I love Abel and Seth
how do u cancel moves? thats crazy that the viper player just cancels the move before it is executed, is that just viper or can rog or blanka doit to?
Play Viper's normal trials, it will all be explained there :D

But yea, it's one of the features for Viper's move. The thing about her is...she's technical, and freakin' hard to get down proper.

so if ure facing someone who is using a projectile character and they.........
zone u to the other side by spamming the projectiles....

what are some ways to break through this barrier.

say i am facing a ryu who is just gonna spam fireballs all day
and if i jump in he dragon punches...............

what are my options?

for rog i thought to.. FA absorb .... spin punch... jump over all of them......
then try to throw that fool

oh yeah also
what are ideal times to use EX moves, i dont think i am using my wisely cause like when i face a shoto or..... actually anyone who has a multi hit special move, i always get pwned.

what are ideal times to use EX moves?

Million Nights Vermillion, is that another doujin fighter?

NRF, the guys who made Big Bang Beat... Is MNV based off a hentai then?

I really should get back to playing doujin fighters. I sure loved Akatsuki Blitzkampf and Melty Blood.

Ya, a doujin...but I dunno, it doesn't look as...crisp? as MB. I did like the designs for Senko, such that they were, but some of those guys in Vermillion look like they were made for weeaboos. >_

The character design seems decent, minus the billion eye patches and whatnot. It just the animation that seems hella bootleg.
