The Akuma player played that match exactly like he's supposed to (aside from eating a would-be fatal ultra). Akuma-Gief is one of the most annoying matchups in the game.

Except his Zangief doesnt walk forward... jus crouch turtles and jumps forward.

One match he had me in SPD for the kill, then got time over'd and I won.

I've personally had my ass handed to me in UMK3 by that guy, at a handful of events in the Northeast... dude is beastly at pretty much any game he touches!

On a random note, one of the best feelings in the world if you remotely like fighting games, is playing for hours on end with friends when you've had a shitty day.

My day went shitty in the afternoon and got worse later on. Decided to drive out to hang out with a couple of my friends, play SFIV for 3-4 hours, talk shit and laugh our asses off the entire time. Too fun, better mood.

yeah, I miss times like those. my old crew basically kind of disapeared after I moved to another college.

Going to art school I found I had less time to even form a group (getting an art degree is just as hard as getting a law degree I'd say, though the general public thinks otherwise), and the people that are on or near campus can't hold their own other than smash bros... and everyone here already knows how much I'm a hardcore smash player :roll:


I gotta get a car so I can more easily find a new crowd to play with. I at least need a car before T6:BR releases.

It gets hard when everyone "grows up", moves away or gets busy with the daily grind. It's always good when you have friends who understand, but there are always those that just don't get it.

Yeah haha, got the whole fucking thing out of the way already, now I can act like a civilized human being for the next 6-8 hours. Let's hope there won't be any more "my girls" as a result of it. :D
 
Anyone wanna get rid of some 360 fighters? Already have VF5 and SFIV, have Battle Fantasia coming in the mail Basically want whatever you guys fee like getting rid of.
 
Ive been trying to get into KOF98 on GGPO so i can really get a feel for the KOF series in general. The only KOF i played a lot was KOF94 and i owned the cart for my NeoGeo when i was younger, and i only played the ryo/robert team lol.

I got a set of characters i like (iori i know pretty well, clark seems overpowered so i want to learn him, and perhaps that goro guy, or the chick chizuro who seems insanely overpowered as well). Seriously, playing it online is a excersize in futility, i get destroyed so fast. Is there a guide with pictures to get a grip on these characters, or perhaps even a video to watch. One thing i hate is the hopping around, its so hard to do on the usb saturn pad. I can hold my own in most of the fighters out there on GGPO, but when it comes to KOF im so far behind i am not even sure i can even be competitive.

Remember, i dont even know the moves for most of these characters, let alone advanced play. Any pointers?

I'll play with you if you want, but I too am learning the KoF system and metagame. One pointer though is just to not be scared of rolling. You can counter it easily by grabbing them out of the roll.

As of late, I'm trying to learn Garou MOTW, but I'm willing to play a couple games of 98 whenever we're both on.

seriously... the difference in skill level is staggering!! I saw him got on the machine and when I left I gave him his 16th win.

I'll be up for some GGPO later. I'll play anything, even Fighter's History Dynamite. I'm decent at Garou (ask Jekki ;)), but I haven't played it in a while. Same with KOF '98.

I passed by Pasadena yesterday on my way to Pomona.

so I'm actually surprised how close the place is to me as well!!

and by close, I mean it's prolly an easy 80 miles lol.

still, it's close by default... like the time I went to Temecula and passed thru Riverside.

that means I technically live close to Riverside also.
 
That KOF XII trailer was awesome. Clark and Ralf are beasts.

What's the deal with importing Wii games? Do I need to do any modding? I'm thinking about geting Tatsunoko vs Capcom.
