It's usually updated between 5-6 p.m. central.

Question for MarkMan or anyone in the know in regards to the SF 4 tournament at PAX:

1. What system is it on?
2. Is it bring your own stick or will there be sticks at the convention?
3. Assuming it's bring your own stick, how did those of you who flew to EVO get your stick on the plane? Box it up and have it as a carry-on? Or did you check it?

Anyone gamesharing Marvel vs Capcom 2. How does it work? D download it and give my friend my account info and he downloads it. Does he have to be signed in my account to play and can he delete my sign in after he download it.

Well since I'm helping to run the tournament... :lol:

1. Xbox360.
2. Pads are provided. Bring your own stick.
3. Don't know if airport security has gone crazier this year, but every year before I just took my stick in my carry-on bag with no problems. Hell, a condom caused more problems than my stick.


Also, when you guys get there, PLEASE sign up for the Soul Calibur IV tournament. :cool:

Pressing both A1+A2 together will cause a THC.

what is a THC? and what are the benefits, it wasnt too clear or i couldnt understand the phrasing trying to explain it?

Triple Hyper Combo.

It uses up as many Hyper gauges as you have, up to three, one for each character. All three characters will come on screen and perform their respective Hypers based on their assigned assist type. For characters with only one Hyper, that's sort of irrelevant, but for characters like Ken, an Anti Air assist will make him perform his Shinryuken whereas his Projectile assist will make him perform a Shoryureppa. A few characters, Rogue and Spiral, even have special Hypers that can only be activated with a THC.

Otherwise, they're not used all that much except for newbies trying to catch you with three beam supers or something. Hyper Canceling (canceling one hyper into the next character's hyper) is generally a better practice.

OTG=Off The Ground

When an opponent is knocked to the ground, there's a small opportunity (depending on the move that knocked them over) by which to continue the combo by hitting them (usually with a CR.LK).

OTG'ing can be prevented by your opponent by them performing a roll maneuvering before hitting the flooring, which allows them to roll to the either side of the screen upon landing and prevent you from OTGing them.

Using Psylocke's Anti Air assist is the easiest way to see this in action. Perform her Anti Air Assist and use your character to CR.LK after the opponent falls to the ground. It'll connect and you can continue a combo. It has to connect while the opponent is motionless on the ground. It will not connect while the opponent is still in falling animation or in rising animation.
 
That thread is awful J. I will have to agree with a lot of the people bitching about 09 posters though, but SFIV opened the flood gates, that site will never been the same.

Dammit my TE stick is a PS3 one. I'm assuming by pads you mean the SF IV MadCatz ones right, or is it standard 360 controllers?

Also will there be any fighting game events on PS3 at PAX? I don't have a carry-on bag that would fit the stick, so what if I just took it in the original box as one of my two carry-ons?

No, only the standard stock wired 360 pads will be provided. Unless MarkMan feels generous and donates some fightpads to console tournament. ;)

There are no official PS3 tournaments that I know of. People are always welcome to hold their own tournaments though at console freeplay.

I think most airlines allow one check in luggage and two carry ons, so you can pack the stick in larger luggage or you can carry it on in its box. You should double check with your airline on their policy.
 
I got through security fine with my sticks when I went to evo, however a friends MAS had its screws removed from the bottom and not returned.

I'm trying to not spend any of my checking money to prep for my last semester so I decie to trade in some stuff to get MvC2...

I look to see if any stores hold the MvC2 package but none. No big deal, I'll just get a PSN card.

I go to my store and trade my stuff in and the clerk then looks for a PSN store and then tells me they are sold out... again, no biggie, I took the credit and headed to a store literally across the street (yes there's a plaza with a GS and then a mall next to it with a GS near my home).

I go in ask for a PSN card... sold out... >_<

fuck... :lol: looks like I'm genna have to wait a little till I can play MvC2.
 
Any news about an SFIV upgrade from Super Battle Opera?


I haven't touched the game in nearly 3 months. I'm optimistic about the next release. Capcom usually does a better job with the upgrade.

what are the rules for supers that like.. "rush"?

like for rogues running punches or juggernaut's dash super?

i dont understand the properties, lets say i try to hadouken super with ryu or the cannon w/ iron man, which will hit first?
