I don't know, I think the environment plays a key role in T6 since you can wall pound people leading to heavy combos or" juggling " if you want. Set up would be the main difference to your second question, but the point I was trying to make was it seemed to me you where trying to dumb down the mechanics of Tekken, I was going for irony by doing the same thing to VF. Nether statement is true to say it is as simple as x. There aren’t ring outs in the traditional since as just hitting the opponent out of the ring to end the match, but on a few stages( 3 or 4? ) you can smash them though
the floor and they will take fall damage, about the amount of a normal jab. While not a lot of dmg still using the environment to lead to a win. In my mind its a Tekken ring out. Yes, I still think your points where weak.

~Inf have one, drunk as hell right now, wish she would shut up and just go to bed.

Pretty shitty to hear Joe, did you at least pick up any crazy sex toys?
Also Tekken Tag is harder than Tekken 5 and 5 DR for less moves and slightly different response from the controls. Great game though.
That makes perfect sense. Having less to work with would make things a bit tougher.
That's where we see things a little different.

No one cares/should care about Jinpachi. I'm speaking from a purely competitive standpoint.

BTW, Jinpachi is not hard at all. If you know what you're doing, he shouldn't be able to touch you. He's free for most knowledgeable ppl on any difficulty.
I must not know what I'm doing. I lost to Jinpachi in under 4 seconds one time....ON EASY!!!:lol::lol:

But anyways, I speak from the "has had no local competition in almost 10 years" standpoint. Single player is all I have to refine my skills with. It's solo or bust.:cry::cry:
havent played a tekken since 3 but after listening to ur podcast MM i cant wait to play t6
Can't wait to listen. I bet MM's voice is as smooth as butter.:lol::lol:
flying halfway across the world and spending 2 grand to get food poisoning is the worst. =(

half my trip to japan went down the drain
no more cussing at japanese in english =(
That freaking sucks, man. I'm sorry to hear it. I hope your next trip(if there is one) goes a lot better.

However, I know you don't give Virtua Fighter enough credit for being an excellent 3-D fighter. Calling it "meh at best" was weaker than anything I brought to the table.

I spent about 2 or 3 hours with T5 after my last post and the pieces are slowly starting to fall into place. I know I haven't given Tekken 5 it's fair shake, but I intend to correct that mistake.

sometimes i'd randomly turn down a street and bam there's like 500 love hotels

and when i started laughing at this one store (something about condoms, i forgot) my friend said it was the biggest porn store in all of akihabara

Anyone know how to get ECA codes for Amazon these days? I joined the site but I guess they are still down because of the stacking shenanigans.

Anyone have one that works? I wanna buy Demon's Souls as a birthday gift for myself.

This probably won't come as a surprise to anyone, but KOF: Maximum Impact 3 and Regulation A2 were officially canceled a few days ago.

On a related note, does anyone know if any of the KOF games have co-op? Like in the 3 on 3 matches, can a friend play as the second character on my team? The Gamefly description for '98UM says that it has multiplayer and multiplayer co-op, so I was just wondering what that was about.

canceled? :(

i know the games are broken, but fun as fuck to play. I still ahve my copy of KoF2006 but only cuz no one wants it lol

yesterday my friend was talking to me about how he cant see the worth of a $60 fighter being wirth the price. I pointed out that SFII is still being played to this day and for some reason it didn't exactly make sense to him why i brought it up...

>_

Considering that a lot of fighting games only pack Arcade, Verses, Training & Online w/ bad netcode, I can understand why he would think that. Most fighting games suck when it comes to mode variety(KOFXII, anyone?). If you aren't in it for the multiplayer, fighting games usually don't have much to offer.

I'll be honest here when it comes to my Tekken playing history. Remember that demo disc that they packed in with the first Playstation that had Tekken 1 on it? That's my Tekken playing experience.

Good, I have the import Saturn version, but does it really utilize the 4MB RAM cart? I popped it in and it fired right up without it.

It actually uses the 1MB cart but it may be able to utilize the 4MB cart (in the same way that KOF 97 does, it only uses 1MB of the RAM). There's a setting in the options to turn on the RAM expansion but doing so actually makes the game run more slowly. You are better off leaving the option disabled.

One of my few gripes about Capcom on the Saturn is that they never rereleased X-men COTA and Marvel Superheroes as a bundle with full 4MB support.

I went to AI again... i felt like an idiot after losing to a balrog (who was played by tatsu, apparently) spamming s.lp.

i think i had more fun watching the two guys trying to beat the cpu on sf hf than playing sf4.

Sounds like the store you saw was Pop life Joe. Four floors of porn.

I thought they were supose to have fixed the lag in KoF in the last patch, shit is beyond bad.

Indeed, I played about a week ago and don't think I'll be going back to it.

Judging by your gamertag, I'm assuming you play the 360 version. Did they ever release the newest patch for that? Not that it'd probably make a difference since it didn't help the PS3 version at all.

I don't think so. I only remember downloading one update and that was about 2 months ago. The lag is random. Occasionally you'll get a lag free match. Having more than 2 people in a match never turns out well.
Geez, there is a massive amount of stupidity in the SSFIV thread in the General Forum.
Yea... I gave up on posting in there, so should everyone else in here. I can already see some of the retarded comments coming jekki's way. Just let the poor bastard of a thread die.

There are just so many inane comments in there. By inane I mean by people who will be selling the game (yet again) after they get sick of it. Count how many crazy comments there are and see how many of those people post in here.

I'm just past tired of comments that are coming from people who don't play competitively (or don't concern themselves with their local scene/players) knocking another update to an existing game. Everyone keeps acting like it's new.
ggs asianxcore. Playing against Seth is always fun, heh.
GG's to you too. I haven't touched Abel in a while since I started focusing on Seth/Ryu. Sorry I was mad sloppy.

Yeah I want to get back into KOF on my 360 but the lag is just way too random. If it ever gets patched I'll gladly play my eyes out for some achivements. Otherwise I'm looking towards Tekken 6 under the Christmas tree and praying SNK releases Sam Shodown here by January (tho it has been taken off Gamestop's website for whatever reason).

i think the one thing that surprised me in japan is that i didn't see a single person playing tekken 6 br. i saw a ton of machines but no one really playing; either i was at the wrong arcade or i was there at the wrong time.

that's the one tough thing about japan
sure there's tons of arcades
but you still have to try and find the right one

there was this one game, border break that just came out and it was standing room only at all the arcades i went to. it looked ok...

Quick question - am I correct in assuming that it is "safe" to sell my copy of SFIV now, in preparation for Super SFIV? There won't be any RockBand-style benefits to keeping the disc around right? If I used the code for the "brawler pack," will those costumes show up in SSSIV as long as the DLC data is on my hard drive?

I guess I shouldn't panic too much, since in the worst case scenario I could always pick up a cheap copy down the road. But Spun.com is offering $18.80 TIV for it right now and that seems pretty good!

I also wanted to unlock more acheivments but they suck for KOF XII. I guess that's what you get when you only have 2 game modes (Arcade & Online)

Ono said there would be something special for those who keep their copy of SFIV. What it is? I dunno, but I wouldn't sell it if you still play with friends. There's still a long time before SSFIV comes out.

So I could re-buy it at a later date and still come out ahead.

Unless there's some sort of manual code that I didn't notice. Aw crap, better go have a good look at the manual just in case!!!

I saw 4 copies of Street Fighter IV for the 360 at Target today for $10 a pop. Didn't buy it/any since the value has tanked.

So there's no incentive to get carried away anyways!

I'm just gonna keep my copy after all, since I came up with a bunch of other stuff to sell for my my Spun.com order anyway. Lego Rock Band, Smackdown '10, a bunch of music CDs - and whatever surprise awaits the original SFIV owners - here I come!!!

Kind of wild though. But gives you a good idea of all she can do.
cool
i watched a couple vids

looks like a few new tech traps and a couple different combos. i should be able to learn it all in an hour or so of practice mode

of course
offense was never my problem
it was always blocking low and getting caught backdashing
