No it's not. Wrex is single handly one of the best characters in the game. Besides he total agrees with your choice to kill the council.

And I'm not sure you should be talk trash about the council after doing excatly what they thought Humanity would do.
I don't care how good Wrex is. He shouldn't have challenged my authority. As for the council, damn right they should have been afraid of humanity. Afraid enough to treat them with respect, but nope. So they paid for it.
I don't care how good Wrex is. He shouldn't have challenged my authority.
He had a damn good reason to question it. There was a cure that could save his entire race and you were asking him to destroy it. I'm sure just about anyone would act the same in his situation.

He can question all he wants, but he pointed a gun in Shepard's face. He had to pay. Up until that point I'd been killing everything I'd come across from the Rachni Queen to the Asari who was trapped in the Thorian, etc. He should have known the end result of fucking with Shepard. No sympathy.

I don't care how good they are either. In fact, most of the team never made it off the Normandy with my Shepard. Only Ashley and Liara.

I wanted to shoot Wrex in the face, but I have problems being a villain. :(
Just wait until the council sends Wrex to kill your family and loved ones. Then we'll see who gotten bitten in the ass, indeed.
Nah, we're cool. I can't wait to visit him in ME2. I can't wait to hear him say "...Shepard" again
Nah, we're cool. I can't wait to visit him in ME2. I can't wait to hear him say "...Shepard" again
Last thing you'll ever hear... bwahahahaha.

GAME OVER, MAN!

Cool until you disagree with him again and then his gun is in your face once more.

All he would just say is...Shepard.

Rei: I'd hope Bioware wouldn't use that trick again. Even if he did I'd just talk sense into him again. Also I get the feeling he won't be an active party member anyway.

I really wish you guys would quit fuckimg spoiling all the cool shit in Mass Effect for me. The story and lore are the only things I like about thr goddamn game, you dicks. :bomb:

My Shepard family's been dead. Killed by slavers, I think...

I don't see much of a problem since most of this stuff has been talked about in interviews for ME2.

Played some Darksiders last night. I like the game, but I have no idea what the fuck is going on.

Edit: and speaking of not knowing what's going on, I just fired up the Wings of Prey demo on my laptop just now and found out it's just the PC version of IL-2 that I already have on the 360--doh.

Thanks man!

About ME1 and 2. I just got the book Mass Effect: Ascension (2nd book in the ME series) and it starts right after the events of ME1. But, I heard ME2 starts right after ME1. I don't want to read the story of ME2 before playing it, so can someone confirm if the stories are different? Thanks...

The stories are definitely different. ME2 actually takes place a few years after ME1. I believe 3 to be exact. Ascension takes place inbetween those. It's a pretty good read. Goes a lot into the quarians and Cerberus.
Sorry, I forget there are actually people who didn't play the best game of 2007...
i don't remember what came out in 2007, but ME was definitely NOT the best game of 2007. :p

Edit:
Bioshock
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Crackdown
Uncharted
Ninja Gaiden Sigma

i think i'd rank all of those over ME... or western style rpgs. was it good? yes. goty? not for me. :]

then again, I'm not a huge fan of space.

Oh it most definitely was. Bioshock was a close #2 for me.
Pass on all three? Definitely not day one over here. Especially since 2 out of 3 are Wii games.
I've been read wrong >_<

No More Heroes 2 is top priority :bomb:

You are so wrong.

Mass effect is my favorite game of all time...

Out of those Mass Effect was my GOTY with Bioshock and Crackdown as my runner ups.

Mass Effect was sooooo the best that year.

Btw, is anyone else interested in Xbox live's dotw for next week? The ME1 DLC is going to be 240 msp, I believe. Good for me since I'm, only missing Pinnacle Station and feel compelled to own it, no matter it's poor reviews.

Bioshock was my #2, I hate FPS games so CoD4 isn't even close, Crackdown I played through once and never wanted to touch it again so no, Uncharted was #3 because of the shark jumping in the last bit with the zombies and the fact that every enemy took like 500 bullets to kill (fixed in the second game luckily), and NGS was worse than NGB so no. Yup, ME all the way.

Bioshock did start to suck toward the end... which is probably why I wouldn't necessarily put it at the top of the list. CoD4 redefined the multiplayer experience -- to the point where people were dropping Halo 3 (also 2007) for it after a month or two. They put together such a good formula (and it still works in MW2) -- wouldn't expect you to buy that though, since you don't go online with it. Uncharted was better than I expected and a damn impressive feat, but playing through it again now, the gameplay mechanics you criticize are true and then some (especially on crushing). NGS was fucking awesome. Never played NGB, so I can't compare it, but hey, it looked good, played great, had ninjas and bouncing boobs... A+ here... I really want to check out sigma sometime, but I'm totally waiting for a pricedrop. Crackdown was a blast -- did I go back to it once I beat it and got most of the achievements - no, but then again, by the time I played it, it was mid-2008 and nobody was playing anymore so I had to roll solo.

Tom Brady as a space marine, some wonky combat (maybe if biotics were a bit better... but by the time I realized I hated all biotics, I'd invested so much time in Liara that switching to someone else seemed silly), really bad mako driving and forced planet exploration, and a story i couldn't get into all in a western-RPG set in space? Definitely below all the others, I listed, IMO. A solid game, but unlike you with your dragon age and 7080321948 playthroughs, i thought about playing a new game plus, but didn't care enough about anything to actually start it. The game was put down and I've never picked it up again.

It'll be interesting to see how they changed the new one. Hopefully be interesting, and the combat will be praised beyond all measure...

Eww, you kept the default Shepard? I love ME and I HATE the default Shepard they use. Mine was awesome:

As for everything else, I LOVE WRPGs if you haven't noticed so all the good stuff in ME outweighed anything bad. I absolutely loved the story. I just finished my 6th or 7th play through in anticipation of ME2 and I was reminded of how awesome the story is.

Also I'm only on my 6th Dragon Age play through so :p I won't even tell you how many times I've played through KOTOR. Even I'm almost embarrassed by it and I happily admit to liking futanari and having a life size Rei statue in my house...

Bioshock's ending had the triple whammy of suck:
#1 - Fetch Quest
#2 - Escort Mission
#3 - Horrible Final Boss

Mass Effect was just screen-tearing followed by framerate dips, and repeats that step over and over again until the end. The game gave me serious headaches. COD4 had a pretty damn good campaign, and almost every idea was new at the time. Uncharted was safe, but had really good character interaction. But none of those were my GOTY, my GOTY is the GOTG.

Super Mario Galaxy

A nice, casual choice for you as expected. We know you can't handle the adult games.

Let's knock that kind of crap off. The GGT should be a friendly place to discuss games. Not this continued nonsense of bashing others taste in games etc. that's been going on late.

Anyway, out of the 2007 games listed my favorites in order would be:

ME
Bioshock
CoD4
Mario Galaxy

The other few mentioned I didn't care for or didn't play. Feel like I'm forgetting another couple 2007 games I loved though.

I'm sure he can. But I think the rest of us would rather see friendly talk about games rather than back and forth bickering again.

And frankly, with your weird hobbies and interests, you should be the last person to be judgmental toward other people's tastes.

Anyway, back to games. Tried Sands of Destruction today. Terrible game. Well not terrible, but terribly mediocre. Also was able to score Darksiders for $40 because someone traded it in today.

Speaking of Mass Effect (and this also applies to Dragon Age... and actually Oblivion and Fallout 3 as well); I just can't stand custom character creation when it involves realistic looking models.

The problem is they give you all these options but most of them you don't want to touch unless you want your character to look like a deformed alien, and then they give you a preset that looks normal so I almost always start there and tweak it slightly but it is clear that the tweaks barely would differentiate it from someone else's character so the whole process of customizing feels kind of worthless.

When it comes to non-realistic models though customization is a lot funner (I'm thinking stuff like Miis or Live Avatars) because the characters never enter into the uncanny valley, because they are cartoonish and we can accept strange proportions on cartoons. Speaking of game system avatars for that same reason I also can't stand Sony's Home, because again the realism feels really limiting.

There is this thing online where you get a sense of power when you hate/dislike something you know somebody else loves. It puts you above them and some people love that feeling.

I don't care for it. Don't bash Mass Effect dammit! And I'm no less of a gamer for having it as my favorite game of all time.

Yea, I totally agree with that. I hate Sliders in character customization. Generally speaking human faces are uniformly shaped, especially if you ever take life drawing - there are a bunch of measurements you use that are generally correct with every human. So why you would need to adjust the spacing of your eyes or the positioning of your eyes on your face is non important. Usually every slider will end up in the middle (unless it has to do with physical weight (fat) ect). And they add these weird ass options that I think are rarely used, like if you slid Forehead size all the way to the right it would look like you have a cantaloupe under your skin - there is no point in that! I think selecting preset parts (like choose between a bunch of different mouthes ect) is the best way to go about it. Just my thinking...

As a follow-up to my previous comment I especially dislike that Mass Effect and Dragon Age don't give you any control over the size of your character's body. Like why is my human female mage the same body and muscularity as a human female warrior? Same with Mass Effect, why do all women have to have such butch bodies?

I do agree a body option would be awesome. Especially in DA where it would make sense. As for ME, Shepard is supposed to be a career soldier who fought in many campaigns and reached the rank of commander. Honestly, she's going to have a fit body. It would look ridiculous any other way. Also I wouldn't call FemShep's body butch at all. My main Shep is a female, and I think the body was pretty attractive. I did the Kaiden sex scene, and that body looked pretty feminine to me.
My main Shep is a female, and I think the body was pretty attractive.
I don't know it's not that female Shepard wasn't attractive it is just that when I make female characters that isn't what I really like/imagine; I'm more of a Samus Aran kind of guy, still totally capable of standing toe to toe with any man, while still looking extremely sexy and very feminine.

That's pretty much what I went for when I created my female Shepard. She's sexy without being butch but still looking like she could totally kick ass if the occasion arose.

What the fuck is PSN?

I bought SF4 for PS3 to use that cheap TE stick on and it didn't work for shit.

I must have tried to join 30 games and successfully joined 4. I don't play many games online on PS3 but if they're like this.. shit.

also, Super Mario Galaxy is the correct choice for 2007 goty.

Man, I loved that game.

That or Team Fortress 2. I've played that more than any game this generation.
