...to destroy them!

Also, it's not so much that tetrinos have to be fetched as they come to you. Something you "fetch" has to be something you go out and look for, right?
Yeah, that's a fetch. Dead Space isn't like that. You can call it linear, but don't listen to anything from that OXM review. Probably one of the most poorly writing reviews I've read in quite sometime.
Eww, Dead Space is full of fetch quests?

Icky icky.
Dead Space is a survival horror game. Fetching items to proceed is part of the genre. Not to mention it's not even that bad. It's not like you have to keep retreading the same areas to get things. Anyway, Dead Space is awesome. Though it's not as scary as I wanted it to be. It's like RE4 in that it's a great game, but it's not scary enough.
Name me a game that isn't a fetch quest.
Street Fighter II? Most every 2D fighting game or shmup?
Super Mario Brothers.

Dead Space looks cool, but a lot of the impressions I have seen describe a lot of it as "Now walk to X place to find item X, oh shit, you also need item Y, walk to where you can get item Y. Oh dayum, we also need item A! Go back 40 square miles and get it."
Hmmm... sounds like every other survival horror game... EVER?!
I am not sure. I bought an Elite.
Oh sry. Thought you bought a used drive (I was in that mindset, 'cause that's what I'm thinking of doing) :p

Bioshock was like that... but Bioshock was slick as hell.

That being said, I don't know whether you enjoyed Bioshock or not.
Can you think of a good game that isn't a fetch quest that's not from the 1980's?
Front Mission 4, though I do find Zead and Renges rather fetching ;)

Also, one of my favorite games from the previous generation was the ultimate in fetch quests: We Love Katamari. Fetch quests aren't all bad...

BTW, changed my user title. Thought it was appropriate.

Gran Turismo or most any racing game? VF5 or TDR5?

The only game that ever reeeeaaaaaally scared me was silent hill 2. And that was just fucking creepy. I don't think anything will ever compare to Pyramid Head and the raping of mannequin demon leg things. :shudder:

The previews made dead space looked action based in spots anyhow. But if the combats good, the monsters are freeky, the atmosphere is done right, and the inventory isn't lax, you can still get suspense out of it at least...

I said good. ;)

Fact is, any action, FPS, or adventure game is basically "fetch" quests. It really doesn't matter.

What does matter, is if the game is fun/good and Dead Space is.

Reminds me of my "games are repetitive" argument I like to have with friends. Truth is, all games are repetitive. So when someone says a game is "repetitive", I usually read it as "boring" instead.

SH2 actually didn't scare me at all. I found Pyramid Head to be funny. When you walk in that room and see him raping something for the first time I started laughing my ass off. Fatal Frame 2 is the only game to freak me out.

When I read that, I think "I suck at life and hate games, I should do the world a favor and drink bleach." But that is just me. :D

Item World = random ass fun.

sup playas!

same. PH is a classic. FF2 was the only scary FF to me.

still debating over dead space. a friend says its gay but it looks cool XD

final note: Chac's awesome for again standing up and telling it how it is. Very disappointed how things went here and how certain people reacted/didnt react. Planing to speak with CheapyD soon (i was able to once, lets see if i can do it again!) about this mess.
I answered you. :\
Oh sry. I might try it, if I end up getting/finding a cheap used 120, but I do have a mem card to fall back on...just need to remember where I put it. :p

If you are saying that the people that say games are "repetitive" and mean "boring" should drink bleach, I agree with you. If you mean I should drink bleach and end it, then I'm one step ahead of you. I cut my bleach with Jack and Red Bull.

The real good game test is that you can do the same shit for hours and it doesn't get old. :)
Also, is Dead Space better on either platform?
I think they're the same. I got it on PS3 since it has trophies, which means there's no difference as far as I'm concerned, and in that case it means I'm going to get it on the system that I haven't had to send back to MS 4 times.

To your question, yes.

Dodgers showed up for a pre-season game it seems like. Dammit. Oh well. Off to the Item World for me.

To whomever was wondering about the 360 HD transfer kit:

There's a form on xbox.com that you can mail or fax in to request a transfer kit.

On that form, they ask for the serial # of both the Pro and the Elite systems.

If you don't have an Elite, do what I did: write 'on order' for the Elite's #

Also, I faxed my form in. I don't know if that made a difference in the acceptance of the form, but it made a difference in the speed I received my first transfer kit...

That's right...MS sent me 2 HD Transfer kits...

Hey GGT! It's been a while since I've stopped by CAG, it's sad to see everyone is still so dramatic about such silly stuff. Everyone needs to chill out!

I've been slowly working through Mega Man 1-7 and the X series. After I beat those, I'll probably play either Super Mario RPG or Zelda: A Link to the Past.

You guys know what sucks? Not being able to play Saints Row 2 at all today.

Now I've got to write a thesis and then a follow up paragraph supporting my thesis.

Then it's time for Disgaea! I have no idea what's going on story-wise, but exploding penguins = win.
How does this 3x wow xp shit work?
You have to refer yourself then dual box both characters. Everything is 3x xp (kills and quests). The account that got referred can grant 1 level every 2 levels gained to the account that referred them. They have to be together (and within 3 levels of each other) to get the bonus and it stops at level 60.

Anyone pick up Socom for PS3? Updating now but need some people to play against or with. I added a bunch of people and still waiting for 6 people to accept (or deny lol)

So I can't do it free? I've been itching to play wow again but everytime I start a character I get bored after like 15 levels. My highest is a 21 lol.

Onimusha - I completed that game tape.

Onimusha 2 - I started it today. Seems pretty awesome. Loving it for a $4.50 game. I wish I could just buy cheap stuff all the time and resist the siren song of the $60 game.. but I will be buying Far Cry 2 next week. Looks awesome.
Not yet.
Get Run Like Hell and wait for a price drop on Dead Space if you're on the fence. Because nothing has come even close to matching RLH for me in terms of survival horror. Oh... so good  I think I'm going to rebuy it for my playstation.

I added a bunch of people and still waiting for 6 people to accept (or deny lol)
I do not have the game yet, but check out the SOCOM thread in the PS3 forum. By the looks of the survey, there will be a decent amount of people picking it up. It will have a weekly CAG night (probably on Sundays, since that's what it's currently set on). I want SOCOM, but I need to buy some of my higher wants first to assure I have enough money left over for it.

My current issue right now is that ALL PSN friend requests sent to me right now have to be denied (I'm at 96), because if I add any more buddies, Burnout Paradise will freeze every time I open up the easy drive buddy list menu. I found out that last night the hard way.
I hope socom is shareable.

Who'd you get Dead Space cheap from?
I really doubt it because if it's an SCEA retail game, they are pretty anal over sharing on PS3 (which is why GT5P won't work and Warhawk, unless things change. SingStar music cannot be shared either). A lot of it has to do with they cannot price a download lower than retailers or that will anger them (they are around to sell products, and when someone can buy it elsewhere for a lower price, usually doesn't make them happy). But who knows, that's just what I know.

I haven't decided which SOCOM I'll get. I'll probably buy the disc only for $40. I need to save money right now, and I already have a terrific USB headset (everyone says I usually have the clearest voice quality), so I'll just save $20.
