LBP people... what's the deal with the signposts at the beginning of later levels -- they have a smiling sackboy on them and when i touch them, they spin around, make a buzz sound, and put a frowning sackboy with a red x through him. 8\

Aren't those in all the levels?

They're meant for online or local multiplayer games.

Once you pass the signpost, no one else can join.
So the beginning of a level as well as the pod, is kind of like a waiting room.

My life is waiting to be destroyed. I'm digging it so far. I'm not that far though. My friend is playing it too, and it looks like some good fun. :)

VATS makes it awesome. Without that, it wouldn't be as good.

I thought it was funny on 1Up how there was an article with Free Radical claiming that they could likely be sold to another company. Then, they had this to accompany it:

media

Which should ward off any potential buyers. Sucks for the employees the company's closing, but the games just sucked.
so is the first stalker worth $4.99 on steam?
It wasn't a bad game, but it was super lacking in polish. Personally, I'd just save the $5 and put it towards.... Persona 4!

Word.

Oh shit, monkeys!

That's so 1999.

Boo. Someone on Craigslist had a listing for a SNES and 11 games for $15. I called, but someone beat me to it. That wouldve made it my 5th SNES (still have 3 working)

V.A.T.S. is pretty cool, you are right about it making the combat good. Without it the game's combat would not be very good, the 1st person aiming is a little off, and forget about 3rd person shooting. It helps to use V.A.T.S. even when you don't have any points left to use it, just to line up your shot in 1st person.

Played MGS2 today (I have no idea what to do, I have a full life bar but my guns are out of ammo).
I also played Little Big Planet, Warriors Orochi 2 and Tales Of Vesperia (16-18 hours in, something like that).
Topple on iPod touch is really fun. And free now too.
All of ngmoco's games are ace. I have Topple, Dropship, Dr. Awesome, and Mazefinger and they fucking rock. Rolando is supposed to be $$$$ too.

I bought GTA4 and Dark Sector at blockbuster. I regretted trading in GTA without beating it, and 14.99 and another free game was way to good of a deal to pass up.
Aha! Now the real question is Persona 4, or Oblivion GotY? I've heard so much praise for Persona I might just crack.
My over 120 hours of gameplay says Oblivion.

So I played quite a bit of Fallout 2 recently. After a brief bit of other stuff, I'm now on to Planescape Torment.

I have but one conclusions.

Black Isle loved the mothafuckin' whores.

Question to anyone that's played Planescape before - is the "rest" button completely useless? The one and only time I have been able to use it was about 30 minutes into the game. I have yet to find a single other area that allows me to rest at will. It means either back-tracking to an inn or some shit or wasting items out in the (usually enemy-free) field.

EDIT: The whole "NPCs refuse to talk to you sometimes" bug is a pretty big pain in the ass, too.

I wrote about Mirror's Edge. I felt I wanted to wait a bit on that, because I was pretty annoyed by the game when I played it. Looking back, it wasn't bad, just has really frustratingly poorly designed bits.

Jeff Green (Newly Birthed EA Employee formerly of GFW/CGW magazine) says that word around the studios about Mirror's Edge is that it's being called a "disaster" from a sales perspective. :(
They actually expected ME to be a money maker?

Yeah... I can't remember how many units they were expecting to move... their "realistic" estimate was something insane, especially considering the proximity to the release of gears, at least I think it was.

Yeah, but they really shouldn't have expected it to move units.

It's a brand new genre (sort of) that would appeal to minimal people and it's launching against heavy competition.
They put a bit of munny into marketing and advertising for the game, with the hopes of a return on it.
They should have changed the release window then. Releasing it around Fallout 3, Fable 2, CoD WaW, and Gears 2? :dunce:
It's a brand new genre (sort of) that would appeal to minimal people
C'mon, Breakdown has a huge following. Everyone's been waiting for another game like it. ...or not. Gad, that game was shameful. I seriously was ready to hurt people. I'm still bitter at Namco.

OH Gwen, thanks so much for the LBP planet code! Kratos is amazing.
Work all day tomorrow, then an early Channukah celebration (my Grandmas 89th birthday was today, but we couldn't see her because we were snowed in!).

Persona 4 is seriously much better than I expected. I was really expecting the mirror image of Persona 3, and while yeah, it's similar, it feels like its own game. Likin' the story so far, too.
Ugh, tell me about it. But for all it's bugs, I'm still finding it infinately more enjoyable than fable2.
Fable 2 is stinky.

I'm a little pissed that I'm rolling on bank of ~$25 MIL and my goddamn "tattooed millionaire - earn $1 Million" cheese didn't unlock. That's just the first one off the top of my head. The crazy AI which sometimes slaughters it's own people, or decides to stand and give me a look of perlexedness while I put some hollowpoints in their brains...

Easily one of the most generic looking things I've ever seen in my life.

Though I'll obviously be buying the game on day 1 anyway.

Question about Guitar Hero. I have pretty much all the games in the series (1 , 2 , 3 , Rocks the 80s , Aerosmith) but I'm still kinda a novice when it comes to playing the games. What would be the ideal order to play the games in terms of a gradual increase in challenge that would help me get better at them without getting punished too badly?

yeah Fable 2 is pretty dull. I had high hopes.

You know how sometimes you see things on the internet that are horrifying, and you go "wow, that's awful and it made me feel like a peice of shit"

Usually that's just a saying. This time, it's true.
