Wow, now I remember why I stopped playing MGS4 two months ago. When you're actually not in a cutscene or a boss battle, the gameplay is pretty lame.

COOL! I'm sneaking through this ship an all of a sudden this trapeze-artist of a dipshit leaps out of nowhere and lands in front of me. Did he see me from afar? No, because he turns around once he lands and THEN notices me.

So, shit, what I do? There's pretty much a million enemies, so, okay, I'll just try to run to the end of the area and take down as many as I can on my way there.

Hey, I made it, and I still have almost full health, somehow! Okay, open the door.

Oh.

I have to mash the triangle button to open it.

And as I'm doing that, a GECKO runs over and kicks me in the face.

FISSION MAILED.
Breakdown was well worth the $6 I paid for it. I want a sequel.
2nded. Plus the irish main character was a good idea IMHO.

wait shit... I'm talking about Beatdown.

I got far in breakdown but kinda got bored with it later. it was what Mirrors Edge before ME.

I moved stealthily across the boat.

Took down every FROG in sight with the tranq. pistol, whatever it's called.

Halfway across, I climbed a ladder and ended up on top of a vent.

I slowly crawled across, sniping every FROG.

Took down a GECKO and blew it up.

Made it inches to the door.

Tranq'd the legs of the GECKO in front of it.

Then some asshole--

ONE ASSHOLE

--turns the corner.

ALERT.

At least half a dozen FROGs immediantly appear.

Everyone is shooting.

Can't open the door.

Can't retaliate, some asshole just knocked me down.

The GECKO gets back up and turns towards me.

Doesn't matter; I'm already gone.

Otacon yells "SNAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!" in his girly voice as I throw my Dualshock 3 across the room.

My dog is all, "WTF?"

fuck the other three. I tossed so many controllers playing those assholes.

I just...I think I've been spoiled by playing Splinter Cell. You know, with its being able to save anywhere and having good stealth gameplay.

And I think it's also because of one of my biggest problems with games: having to do stupid shit over and over again. For example, on this level: having to take care of the initial two batches of FROGs at the beginning. There's zero difficulty to it, and I've done it half a dozen times now. Why do I have to keep doing it? It's just like failing a mission in GTAIV and having to make two cross-game-world road trips to get back to the meat of the mission when you retry it. It just makes me want to put the game in the ocean.
That is kind of true, but then most of us have our quirks that we're known for.
I know I do , such as being picky about wanting a game on the system it's "best" on , or alternatively wanting to keep a series together on the same family of systems even if the game might be just as good if not better on another (wanting fallout 3 on pc instead of just getting it on the 360 is a good recent example).

Recently I've noticed another quirk developing , which is being more interested in playing the older cheap budget games I pick up from goozex/gamestop/amazon than playing the blockbuster GOTY games (Being more interested in playing Turok , Army of Two that I picked up from Gamefly than playing Fallout 3 , Prince of Persia , Fable 2 ect.).

Also, I wish there was a way to reload your save without dying (unless there is and I've totally missed it). I hate getting an alert and then waiting forever to die (because when I'm NOT trying to stay alive, of course, it takes forever for Snake to die).
metal gear can be hard, but then it can be easy if you play it smart.

it's still the easiest MGS out of all 4.
No metal gear solid game is difficult, really -- though I had some problems with the final boss in MGS3.

I have quite a few quirks, but one I'm proud of is my ability to keep smiling my collection down to stuff I really love. I'm more proud of my collection being focused and small versus most of what I see on the internet.

Pause, go to save, choose quit. that's what I did, plus it keeps your death record clean.

It's not that bad, once you figure out the pattern... if you stay on the left and wait in the shadows, one of the Geckos will get slammed, then you only have to avoid one while opening the door.
Wah. Three posters and no one got the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia reference?

Life is ass.
Unless the show got better , I though IASIP was crap. Not funny , annoying and frustrating. I might still be willing to give it another shot , but the handfull of episodes I saw just didn't do anything for me.

And it's not because I don't get "dark humor" because I've seen other shows that would probably be classified as such and liked them.

Everything you just said is a lie.

Well, this time I took the left path. Got to the first GECKO, was about to take it down and...some bitch wandered out from behind me, saw me, and I was fucked.

I just...I don't get it. Apparently it's really easy, but I just don't get it. Going this way was a lot more frustrating than what I did the first time, too; bitches kept wandering in and waking everyone up.

There's a pattern where you don't even need to stun anyone... let me see if I can find it.
(I looked around for info on it, cause it frustrated the hell out of me too).

I think this is what I came across that helped immensely:
When you take control, equip the Mk2 and crawl to the eastern side of the
ship, which is the left in this case since you're facing south. Crawl down
the path here and shoot the two Haven Troopers that begin walking towards
you. If you can, aim for the one behind the other to avoid her partner from
getting suspicious. Once they've both been knocked out, continue down the
side of the ship. Another pair of Haven Troopers jump down from the second
floor in front of you, so take them out as well.

Keep heading down this path until you reach the two Haven Troopers' bodies.
Another Trooper will begin walking in Snake's direction, and they may become
suspicious if they see the bodies lying around. Quickly knock her out with a
headshot, and wait here for a moment. Two more Troopers are patrolling this
area, but you can wait for them to walk away and sneak by. As you approach
your last victim's body, another Haven Trooper be show up farther down -
knock her out, too.

Here's where the trouble can begin if you slip up. A Gekko is roaming around
the south end of the bow - directly in front of the porthole you need to
enter. We can worry about that later, however, as the task at the moment is
to simply reach the exit first. There are some crates and a large cylindrical
tank labeled "R1" in front of you, so stand up and hug the tank to squeeze
between them and avoid entering the main area where the Gekko is. Once on the
other side, begin crawling south again, but keep an eye on your radar for any
hostile blips. Two more Haven Troopers will jump down from the second floor,
so keep your Mk2 on hand and take them out.

From here it's a straight run to the exit, but there's a catch. The door you
need to go through is airtight, and you have to turn the handle several times
before it opens. This can create problems if you've set off an alert, as you
probably won't have the time to open it before being attacked.

With this in mind, crawl around the corner and hide behind a crate east of
the door. A second Gekko will jump down directly in front of the door, but
Mei Ling comes through when it counts, and one of her ship's canons hits the
Gekko, destroying it. With that out of the way, wait for the remaining Gekko
to walk away, and then quickly run over and open the door. Once inside, grab
all of the items and enter the elevator.

yeah. IASIP never made me really laugh. Curb Your Enthusiasm is gold though. The Office is up there as well...

anyone have a list of games with humor as good? old point and click games seem to be one of the few genres to keep this.

I'm sure you already know this , but the Ace Attorney games always give me some good consistent laughs. I've been laughing quite a bit at The Simpsons Game for the DS while I've been playing it as well.

Oh fuck fuck motherfuck, I did it.

And you guys are out of your minds. It's Always Sunny is great.

(actually, I watched the first season and quit when it was first on. I just recently discovered it on Hulu and love it.)

Not sure if The Simpsons DS has the same script as the console versions, but there were a few decent jokes in there. I thought Phoenix Wright was boring though. 8\

I was kinda wondering that too about the simpsons game. I have both the DS and the 360 version since they are both supposed to play like different games , but I was curious how similar the story and script were between the two.

This.

So the family is going to buy me a laptop for graduation. What do I want? I'm asking GGT because I'm laptop illiterate.

I don't really PC Game so I don't care much about that. I guess I just want something that will run competently and look nice.

Suggestions, laptop gurus of the gee gee tee?

I watched some of the first season when it first came on and it didn't do a thing for me. When I heard they were bringing in Devito for season 2 I came back since I like Danny Devito. He was about the only thing I liked in the few episodes of season 2 I watched. I ultimately gave up on the show again.

a MGS4 one. I hear they are frustrating.

Yo! I just got back from biking home through a snowpocalypse!

Xenogears was pretty funny, though it was sporadic because of the length of the game.

I remember FFVIII having some good humor too.

and shadow hearts 2!

All rpgs, sorta biased. Shush!

Worked all day, got MONEY and Batman: The Complete Animated Series (The good one) and I watched Pan's Labyrinth (For the 7th time, 3rd on Blu Ray).
Its my favourite movie.
fucking great day!!!
I smell like MGS4 and Chicken Teriyaki.

Shower time, then maybe finish this bitch.

Gameplay wise, you don't have long left. The ending, however, takes FOREVER.

My few past days have sucked so far. I've had no power since friday so I've been staying at a friends house. Haven't played nothing but L4D lately but no since Friday sadly.
ReRo, you ignorant slut.

lol
 I hope you don't take me seriously. I'm looking for a new laptop as well next year but I'm really dumb about it with about the same amount of knowledge as you about hardware. I know my software well but I'm stupid with hardware.

I don't take fucking ANYONE in the GGT seriously.

Except Moxio.

I'm serious about him.

Doing him, that is.

This new conditioner smells like some sort of fruit!

damn. didn't realize Black Box, makers of skate., will be closed down after the game releases

all these devs that I liked in some form closing is making me sad. the good news is that new ones will be birthed int their place :D

oh and the arcade stick art I've been working on for a CAG seems to be finished. just need to do some layout corrections and it's good:

I hated Meryl (haven't played mgs4 yet). Couldn't deal with her emo, "I always wanted to be a soldier!!!!!" whining and kvetching. yeah, battlefield is the best place to work out your personal problems.
