I played 1,514 online games of Halo 2 compared to 267 games of Halo 3. Well my brother and I, and he played a majority of the Halo 3 games.
Heh, I'm sorta in the same boat. For some reason, Halo 3 doesn't feel as good to me online as Halo 2 did :whistle2:k

Prototype is still so good. I don't understand the bad reviews. This should be a 9 game.

Lotta hype for Halo 2 since it was the first one online...probably the most hype for any game ever. Not so much with 3. I mean, there was shitloads of hype for 3 and it sold more, but it didn't feel like "Halo 2" levels.
I think the difference is that Lair and Haze came from teams with a history of relatively well-reviewed games, whereas High Voltage has a long history of absolute garbage.
It's funny looking over that list , that 2002 and 2003s games overall seem so much better than any other year on that list.

It's also kinda funny that the company appears to have gotten their start doing Jaguar games.
I'm holding one for you and corrosive so no worries. I'll try and PM em to you tomorrow.
Thank you sir.

I definitely have to wake up early tomorrow, no still on the internet at 5 AM. I want to hit up Target before my Physics review which starts at 12.

Probably going to pick up a movie or two at Redbox as well. I'm thinking Gran Torino, Wall-E, and Slum Dog. Haven't seen any of them
Haha, I just watched Gran Torino as well and thought the song was weird and out of place.

Great movie though.
What was that? I didn't understand it the first two times.

:whee:

Good to hear. I should be getting a hold of it soon... I'm looking forward to being a human Shamwow.

No problemo chico :)

Been up all day installing a ton of new stuff on this new mac... bleh... that's pretty much been my entire day, but I'm all set now...

now it's a matter of getting things setup more to my liking and getting comfortable.

Been playing lilt line on the ipod touch (my only purchase so far) and I love it, but I think I'll be picking up eliss and passage tomorrow if I make time.

Wall-E is an awesome movie (so is UP).

What powers have you been using? I find that I have barely used any ofthe powers except
claws, and now ground spike.

Also, there are some difficulty spikes in the missions.

Whipfist is great for grabbing web targets and latching onto helicopters, also for clearing out wide areas of infected, the arm power is great for throwing and general hand to hand combat, the hammerfist is good for elbow dropping on tanks and hard targets to kill, and the blade is best in general for combat. Also the various "push away" special moves are very useful for when things get crazy.

I also love stealth killing army dudes. I almost ate an entire base once without alerting them ;)

The controls do take some getting used to, in a ninja gaiden kinda way, but once you do it's really rewarding.

Passage as in that 5 minute PC game?

Good to see that even when the review scores are low, jer always has an open mind
unless its a Sony exclusive
.

The controls take getting used to because they suck and feel unnatural. NG controls are responsive and rewarding. The atmosphere killed Prototype for me too. The AI on the people is TERRIBLE, and the soldiers aren't much better.

"Hey, that man just jumped 50 feet, but...I'm not going to go on any kind of alert!"

You could argue this would make the game obnoxious, but at least throw in a "Hey, come back!" or something. Everyone is a sheep in that game.

You may think it's a 9, but it is a very, VERY average game.
Art Style BOXLIFE is making me cross-eyed like whoa. Still can't put it down though.
Yeah, I really love it. Even brought my DSi to work to play some later.
Man I'm enjoying Spider-Man: Web of Shadows. How come this game didn't get any love when it was released?
I liked WoS about as much as I am enjoying prototype. Comes close to nailing the Sandbox-Superhero genre as prototype, and kinda has the same type of feel.

I think Infamous does the genre better than both though.
100,000 for FFVII on PSN in NA for one week.
Really hope that encourages more PSN releases.
Wow. That's practically a free million bucks in one week.

I hope people take notice, I'm sure Square Enix which is a really great start. Their PS1 era games are the best IMO.

I liked it, but the last act just dragged on forever.

Seems like inFamous did what Spidey couldn't, from what I've read.

Yeah I noticed similarities between inFamous and Spider-Man as well, but I just love the animation and stuff in Spider-Man. I'm a comic dork, so I think that's why Spider-Man WoS has been my 2nd favorite superhero sand-box game so far (Crackdown is #1.)

I definitely dig inFamous thuogh and I'm looking forward to playing more of it.

who else is going to see Transformers tonight?

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuudge

Big boss coming tomorrow.
Bringing HR with them.
And no one is talking about it.
That isn't good.

I know a large group, "collections" was let go just last week.
I don't know, it's scary, but it has to be unlikely that it's my group next. At least I thought so.

I mean, we've gotten so much more work from their other groups, there's tons of conversion plans in place, and lots of transition plans for the new building.

Heh.
I know I say that a lot (oh noes, losing my job!), but each time it's true and one group gets let go.
It just hasn't been us each time thank God.

There's really only like 2 groups left now... but I don't know, I just had a meeting talking about plans for October, and even March. :( It can't be us.
Passage as in that 5 minute PC game?
Yeah, but even I barely call it a game. It's more of an interactive concept. It's not the strongest "game art" ive seen, but it's had its impact.

Eh... that sucks. Good luck...

Good luck Dallow!
Ran is a fantastic movie. Akira Kurosawa knows what's up.
EDIT: Ummm, how do I get rid of this stupid game privacy thing on my XBL sig? I don't know what I did to get it there in the first place...

ICO makes me feel dumb, I'm only a few couches in but I'm stuck because apparently Yorda is too tired to slide down a chain and I can't seem to figure out how to grow a few feet taller to reach a torch so I can set some bombs.

I really didn't ever have a problem with the controls.

And yes, the game would be a horrible, unplayable mess without the AI fudging things like not noticing that you just dropped 30 stories onto the ground in a disguise. Prototype is a very "gamey" game, as in so many elements are secondary to reality, and primary to the design. The enemy troops are stupid about finding you, because the game isn't Splinter Cell. The levels aren't designed to be sneaking around in.

I think they could do a lot with that mechanic in their next game, because I did really enjoy sneaking into bases and stealth eating dudes, and patsying others until they were all gone.

And yeah, the controls are nowhere near as good as Ninja Gaiden, I just get that feeling from it when you're juggling the military, helicopters, tanks, soldiers, and also various types of the infected dudes. Like that kind of prioritizing and planning in the combat that Ninja Gaiden does very well. The different powers as well feel like switching weapons in Ninja Gaiden. I'm not saying it's nearly as good as Ninja Gaiden, but it just has some of that feel to it, in an open world setting. I don't think an open world NG game would be a lot different than Prototype, just more polished in controls and mission design.
AAA or No Play. :]
Hey, brilliant response. Do you read anything I say? Or are you just a smartass?
Prototype is a AAA game, fucking awesome.

Also:
[PROTOTYPE]™

Your extensive time evaluating the game certainly justifies your opinion on it.

The AI responding realistically would make it a horrible, unplayable mess?

Yeah, what didn't you read correctly about that?

Either they'd have to ditch the "infection sensor" things that automatically alert the military or change the way those bases are designed.

I think stealth gameplay is just awful so fudging it was a more fun option, even if it wasn't a realistic option. And nothing about that game is realistic, so why should the disguise mechanic be? Causing a huge ruckus in a military base, running away, and then disguising and finding your way through the chaos while disguised into the base is a better way to go about those missions anyway.

:dunce:

I said a simple comment from the AI would be nice.

In other sandbox games the AI reacts at least semi-realistically.

Just get over that the game is pretty meh, and you can see past all it's design flaws and enjoy it
especially because it isn't a triple exclusive
