geoffkeighley: Finished Uncharted 2 and you will be fucking blown away.

:whistle2:k
So much hype...can't the game be released already?
wait.... people tweet keighley?

I still dont get what's so great about twitter other than promotional use...
I did once. And he actually used the line I sent him in a show. But I've since removed him from my twitter feed.

I hate twitter, but at least it's better than facebook.

Mana ECA is a organization that has a bunch of discounts including an amazon 10% off code usable on games and game accessories. ECA code is amazing and free right now with the coupon in the deals section.
k... i dont see ur logic. explain...??
Same boat. Twitter seems just as annoying and even more self-servicing for narcissists and does less? Or am I wrong.

twitter has its benefits. i've gotten free shit off twitter and facebook. but twitter clues me into a lot of giveaways. sort of acts like aim sometimes, i know i don't use it the way i'm supposed to though. :)

This is true. I've made bank on those Amazon trade ins, had someone get me a BL demo early access code, discount codes . . .etc.

However, I also got a ton of free iTunes credit from that dead Ticketmaster thing on FB (yea I stuck it right back to them with multiple accounts, they deserve it).

I don't see much benefit to one over the other, except that people don't keep inviting me to pirate/zombie/mafia/vampire crap on twitter.

true.
To me, Twitter is simple, Facebook isn't.
I can entirely agree with you there, but they are for both different venues... one is for self primarily while the other is for connection...

but yeah, facebook is more complicated than it needs to be.

What is the deal with Halo taking a step back every iteration?

Halo 3 - completely took out clan support and all those matchmaking options
Halo Odst - took out competitive multiplayer and now matchmaking?
Halo 4 - You have to have your friends IP address in order to connect

*eye roll smiley goes here*

well for multiplayer they didnt want to split the community so they just put in h3 as the 2nd disc

no matchmaking makes no sense other than bungie being lazy with the h3 engine and deciding not to add in the ability for matchmaking(firefight lobby works like the h3 campaign lobby)

And yet its still better than Killzone 2 in which you can't even stay with your friends.

After playing a 72 minute game of Firefight last night, I kind of don't think it's so bad that there's no matchmaking. If you had to play with random people, there is no way in hell that people would stay for the whole game.

Do you not get any extra points from playing Firefight on higher difficulties? Everyone on my friends list has been playing on Heroic, and none of them have any Firefight achievements.

Yeah. Guaranteed Fireight Matchmaking would be the worst experience ever. When one quits everyone quits. Unless it was jump in-jump out, which I assume would be a whole other thing with netcode.

Nelo and my roomate and some dude from GAF had a good time.

I think the problem isn't with ODST but with Xbox Live. It needs to be easier to make facebook-type groups. I have the GAF and CAG firefight tags but it doesn't show you if people are joinable, so you just invite some random people.

Also-The lag in firefight NEEDS to be patched. It's a fucking awesome game, but it's so hit and miss with the netcode.

I actually am enjoying the multiplayer again. Except everyone's so damn good. And if you have 8 players in a game, you actually only have 5, because two people from your team are going to leave, and you will lose because of it. I don't know why people would stay for a half hour firefight game if they can't stay for a 15 min CTF game.

Does anyone else miss the map Relic from Halo 2? I loved that map. I would have taken that over midship, although midship is really fun too.

Never used twitter, don't think I plan to. I know a lot of people and have a lot of friends due to moving around a lot, so to me, facebook is a miracle as far as keeping in touch with everyone. I never use any of the stupid apps or games everyone seems so into.

I haven't noticed any lag in firefight, but I agree. Knowing the Halo community, matchmaking firefight would be hell.

I'm fine with it off. It's not on there bottom line, so just let it go. It would have been a nice extra feature, yeah, I agree. But it's way more fun with just friends.
My advice, is to pop in the second disc, play some matchmaking, make more friends, and you should be good to go. Most of my friends are RL and H3 friends so I was pretty much set for FF from the get go.

But it's not there. :p
People will complain regardless, yes, but it won't change the fact that it's there or not.
I highly doubt it'll come out in an update, and if it does, it'll be free. Hopefully.

I don't have a problem with no matchmaking but it's the way you can't just make and join groups easily on XBL that's annoying. It should just work like facebook, have a CAG ODST group and you go on and see what's available and join or invite people.

The CAG Firefight gamercard works kinda like that but not perfectly.

I wish they did have a FB like group, that'd make things extremely easy. That's usually why CAGs create a free Gamer tag, and call it something like, ODSTCAG, and then anyone who wants easy access, they just add it and find other players.
A little more work than that it should be, but it's better than nothing.

Started playing Chronicles of Riddick this morning (original campaign) and I still think it holds up pretty damn well in this generation. But then again maybe i'm a sucker for first-person fighting.

Also, it is just so satisfying to beat the crap out of xzibit.

No avatars is the way to browse.
No sigs either.

Having trouble getting my backup to restore to my new drive. Trying again. :|

I now hate working weekends, I used to not mind when work was light, but just stressful now.
But... but your monkey!
Ah, he's not going anywhere, but I know he's there. ;)
i like avatars... it gives a face to the people.
Yeah, but people change them too often. I do keep mine as a 'face' for others though.

Way of the Samurai 3.........
In my goldbox so I'm tempted to order for $35 shipped.
I think I'll wait, it's same day as Uncharted 2.

agreed, but same with people in real life in some respects... usually due to body fat.

At least I try to be consistent and keep the same character.

My plans for October 13th:

Pick up Uncharted 2 at midnight
Have ridiculous amounts of fun playing Uncharted 2 until 1 or 2 PM
Get Brutal Legend in the mail
Play Brutal Legend until I pass out
