I didn't see this mentioned anywhere, and when I mentioned it another trade thread, it sounded like no one knew about it.

Anyway, In the new May Catalog B&M, the one with Star Wars on the front, it lists:

Trade your N64 plus 6 games for $50 credit. Since they sell the used systems in-store for $17.99, this may be YMMV.

Also works for trade PSX plus 5 games for $50.

Thanks Xclaude for the scan!

If it works on sports games, you can get those used for.99-1.99. Might be a good way to make $20 or so in credit if you buy a used system and find 6 of those cheap games.
The games require boxes and instructions, according to the fine print.
that'll be crazy if they enforce that. i bet they will accept game only.

that's gay...most people have lots of cart only games for the 64

I don't know how they could expect boxes. They never promise box and instructions when they sell used N64 games. And they don't have a separate price for complete games.

At this point I think they would acually throw them away if you brought in boxes.

Can someone post the deals from the catalog?
Then how come on there website it says that a N65 with 5 games only gets $25.
Their website and B&M are frequently different. As I said before, this is most likely a mistake on EBs part, but if you have the catalog, you should be able to make them do the deal.

Also, I think the box and manual requirement is just a blanket statement they put on all their trades. We all know they take games without them, cause I have yet to see a N64 game there with a box. Not to mention all the Xbox and Ps2 games they have in generic cases. I traded a GBASP and a few games about a month ago and none of the games had manuals or boxes and they took them.

I will be trying this tommorrow. I am going Yard Saling, and the last 2 times out I have gotten a N64 with games each time. Once for $5 and once for $10. If I find another system or 2, I will try trading in more than one.

It's been months, if not years, since I've seen used N64 games with boxexs in my EB.

Still, it's definitely possible that individual stores won't be enforcing that rule.

Yea, struck me off guard as well. If you trade in the N64 and 5 games you get $25, but if you add one more you will get $50. PO games only of course, but if your short one or two you could buy them for as little as $1.99.

Boxes and instructions are not required. That's just the usual EB fine print blabber they post under every deal.

Also works with PS1 as well. The old grey version and PSOne are accepted.

No games are excluded? Might be worth looking into. I have a couple extra N64's sitting around actually. But I don't really have any worthless games.

Sounds like EB is going to get a ton of N64s in. :) Actually I was at one of my stores yesterday, and the rep said thay had a ton of N64 systems in the back. If I was a Flipper, I could easily buy a system or 2 from them than take them to the other EB and trade them. It's just not worth getting banned or blacklisted over though. I will try my luck at tomorrows yardsales. :)
i'ma do this, i've been tryin' to get rid of my n64 for a while i just hope they don't enforce the boxes rule, although i do have the manuals
PMd Ya.

how could they track the purchase if you didn't purchase them with credit?

They don't require boxes. The guy at the EB I just traded mine in at didn't even turn the system on. I didn't that many crappy games so I went to gamestop and grabbed 2 old sports games for $2. Too bad I didn't wait for this deal though.

According to the guy working at my local EB, pretty much any games beside the PC games do not need original box. If it is a disc game, then it would need some form of jewel casing. PC games, on the other hand, needs to have the original box. Wierd, but that's how the guy explained it to one of the other customers. (I eaves drop :p)

This also works on PSX and PSOne. Better yet, PSX and PSOne only requires 5 games. Also note that AV cable and power cables is required. (and of course the system be in functional order)

I am not sure about the sport titles... can someone confirm if sport titles are accepted or rejected in this deal?

Thank you for telling us about the deal, OP! I have many worthless N64 games lying around. I also have a spare N64 that has been collecting dust for years now.

Nobody reads my posts... :(

POX games are NOT included, although you can find PO games for as cheap as $2-3 each. Certain sports titles are included.

The PS1 deal needs 6 games as well for $50. 5 games will give you $25.

they let you trade in the sports games?

I can personally confirm this.

I just bought 2 N64's for 17.99 each, and they are going back tomorrow for that deal :>

I traded in my PSX with Madden 01 game only, Smackdown 1 game only, Tony Hawk 1 mint GH, Mat Hoffman, and Blaster Master and got $20 for the system and $6 for each of the games. This is fucking awesome. I paid less then $2 for each of those games. So basically selling the system for $50 has been an awesome investment for me.

(Edit: You only need 5, I traded in 6, I had Gameday 98 which was POX also, and I was like eh I don't care.)

I have 2 extra N64s and 1 extra PS1 just taking up space in my closet. I probably have 4-5 crappy, $2 N64 games that I also don't need. I'll have to get a few more cheap games, but $150 in store credit sounds awesome. :applause:

(One more reason to love EB)
what does POX mean? i think PO is previously owned... but.. ?
it means it is excluded from traded in on deals.

I plan on doing this deal in the next day or so if I can find my old jumper pack.

well, this pic was requested earlier, and now to prove my point.... here it is:

PICTURE HERE
Looks like 5 games to me...

EDIT: oh yea, the ad never said anything about excluded games. :p

When I tried that Gameday game, it wouldn't work. When 5 PO games were scanned in, it adjusted automatically.

adjusted automatically? As in it gives you individual item credits rather than the $50 deal?

EDIT: btw, what is POX? Pre-owned .... what?
adjusted automatically? As in it gives you individual item credits rather than the $50 deal?
When I originally had 2 POX games and 4 PO games in with the system, it showed it for like $10 or something, when the 5th game was added bam it went to $50.
they let you trade in the sports games?
Yeah I think 4 out of the 5 I had were sports games. This was for the $25 deal but I'm sure it will work for this as well.

Hmm...so they'll take 5 games for $25? Maybe I could find some sports games to trade in for credit for Zelda or Kingdom Hearts II. But none of my personal games...those stay with me.

Awesome, I'm hitting this today. My N64 is just collecting dust anyway, and since most of the games I did play on it I'll probably be able to d/l on the Revolution, I don't need it anyway. :)

I will hang on to my Paper Mario cart just in case tho. ;)

Damn, I wanted to do this deal but I just checked with eb and 3 of 5 games I wanted to trade in were excluded. They won't take Dino Crisis, Ridge Racer Type 4, and KOF 99.

Hmm...if they're excluding stuff like that, maybe I'll just pass on this whole thing.

Could be a store by store basis. Some people are getting away with trading in sports games. I might try a different eb later on today.
