Finished Portal 2 today. Took me 9 hours. Definitely my GOTY so far. Probably in my top 10 games ever even. If anyone has it on PC and wants to co-op sometime, let me know.
I'll coop with you when PSN comes back up.
Hopefully it will be by the time my copy gets here.

Huh, looks like a lot of PSN will be back up this week. 30 days free PSN+ for everyone, each region will also be given a free download of some content (not listed yet).

No he played the same game. He just sucks.

Don't worry everyone, PlayStation®Home is also coming back online.

I approve of this response.

Oh Thank God, I can now sleep peacefully again.

Playstation store will remain down. fuck. How am I supposed to dump $20 on SF costumes now? :(
By doing it on the 360, I'll probably be switching to the 360 version myself when AE hits.

Then I'd have to buy $60 worth of costumes. No sale. :nottalking:

When I see the AE disc at Target for $10, like I did with SSF4, then I'll play on 360.
(Somewhat serious here, I'm on my 3rd 360, and I'm afraid it'll die any day with how sickly the internal fan sounds. :( )

Dude, last night was awesome.

Also, who should I have in my party in Dragon Age? I love Alistair and Morrigan. My current talent pool is Wynne, Sten, Morrigan, Alistair, and Batman (Mabari warhound).

Hmm...should I spend my $30 in Amazon credit to get Mortal Kombat for $10?

Beat Vanquish this morning. Final boss took me one try this morning. Words escape me at how pissed I am.
Man, both portal 2 and MK are bombing in price on amazon.
I bought MVC3 retail and it didn't really drop in price that quickly. I should have waited and bought MK later on. It being 40 and considering my broke ass paid retail it does make me a bit sad.

Well what class are you?

I used Alistair, Morrigan, and Wynne.

Mine doesn't even make weird noises, yet I still feel that way. It's been a couple years since my last 360 died, so I'm fully expecting this one (my fourth one) to die soon.

I'm an Elvish Mage, tactic-wise I am a Damager. I was using Wynne, but apparently my brand of goodness is nowhere near good enough for her and everytime I decide something we fight about it. I want to strangle her.

I was an Elvish Mage also. The team I used was great (me = AOE damager, Morrigan = damager, Wynne = healer, Alistair = tank), other than not having a Rogue. I didn't feel like I was missing much though, other than a bit of experience from opening chests.

As far as keeping people happy, my choices didn't really seem to make any major enemies. Most of the things I said tended to please Morrigan, but the other characters had enough positive responses to keep them happy as well. If you really want to keep someone happy, you can always give them gifts.
Fixed.
Oh yea, I forgot those asshats gave up AE on the PC. You're right, my bad.

Wanna know a secret? Even if you buy the AE disc, you still need to buy the costumes. AHAHAHAHA!

Txt me when you want to.

Sounds about like I'm playing. I'll switch out Sten for Wynne, then. I'm trying to go for the Morrigan romance, but her friendship bar is moving very, verrrry slowly. :(

Everything I say displeases Morrigan (she thinks I'm spineless), pleases Alistair (we're BFFs), pleases Sten (I don't understand why), and makes Wynne HATE ME. I wish everything was more clear-cut like Mass Effect.

The fact that it's not clear cut is what makes me love DA. I understand the appeal of the Paragon/Renegade Mass Effect system, but for me, I strongly prefer morally gray systems like Dragon Age and The Witcher.

That's not what I mean exactly, it's that I don't like how my party's decisions are not as clear cut to me. I want to make everyone happy, and unlike Mass Effect, I don't think I can do that. Or can I?

You can't without gifts. And I do think that all ties into the morality thing. Everyone has a different set of morals in the game, and it's not always clear what will please them because a lot of decisions are gray. It's much less "gamey" than Mass Effect.

Yeah it does tie into the morality thing, but I wish it didn't. I totally sympathize with a lot of what Morrigan says and I tell her this, but just the way I'm going about the story, she dislikes most of what I decide, which sucks. I feel that if she were a real person, she'd cut me some slack instead of just being a complete cunt.

Even though we're disagreeing in the story, if I give her lots of presents she likes, can I romance her?
It's much less "gamey" than Mass Effect.
You bring up a good point. DA is less of a game than Mass Effect.
YOU HEARD IT HERE FOLKS.

I loooooove Mass Effect

Morality? DA:O has none of that. Things you need to understand is what type a person the characters are.

Alistair is a jokester that needs to hear his own voice. When given the option of asking Alistair, what you think of this? Do it. HE will love you for it.

Morrigan is NOT human. She has not compassion for humans, but she does have compassion for those who wish to survive. Don't try to appeal to her ever, will cause her to like you.

You just need to pick up on the small these like this, or just buy a bunch of gifts and look up a gift giving list for character appreciation.

If you are an elf, you need a tank and a healer. Sten and Shale make great tanks and Wynne is basically your best healer. You can covert Morrigan to become a healer, but she is more of a dark magic user. The third choice is up in there air since you are an elf. Usually you need a stun character or magic damage dealer, but since you are the stunner you can add Alistair or go for full enemy lock down with your Mabari.

Man this talk of DA:O is making wonder if i should get the ultimate PC version.

/edit: I loved the customization of Mass Effect 1. Mass Effect 2 was too streamlined for me. Solid game, but not the RPG experience I was expecting. However my beautiful Commander Shepard is a G, so it works out.
Morality? DA:O has none of that.
That is absolutely not true.
This is also an oversimplification.

I realized what I wrote. Now I am just too lazy to fix it. DA:O companion affection can be changed with the use of gifts. Make the choices you want, then fix it with gifts.
I saw it the first time, I just ignored it.
I assume you was joking, but its hard to tell. I just wanted a serious answer is why I quoted you.

I doubt you really hate Mortal Kombat. Although it does remind me of mk vs dc, but better.
I watched Alien vs. Ninja on Netflix last night.

After listening to you react to it, I really need to see it.

Oh, I see what you are saying. But I also think that ruins the game in a way.
Oh, I see what you are saying. But I also think that ruins the game in a way.
But I think that's sort of his point.

It's not much of a loss to do so, since she's not putting out much damage now anyways. Also, I'm totally stunning people! it's like my favorite move! I stun and Sten just wrecks shit!

ME-wise, I preferred the armor/gun system in the first game, but that's all.
That is absolutely not true.

This is also an oversimplification.
This is true. I think I've got it down now, though. Thanks guys! I'll be sure to get all the gifts offered to me from the Feastday DLC and put it to use.

Dude, Tim Curry should play everyone in this game.

Just note that Morrigan is a sub-par healer. Wynne is much better at it.

The gifts are in the game in the first place, so yeah.

Getting Wynne to become an Arcane Warrior make her too awesome. All magic points are translated into strength, which allows her to wear armor and weapons. A tank healer is you will.
But I think that's sort of his point.
And I am saying I'd rather not ruin the game by overusing gifts. It's much more involving if you actually think hard about your choices rather than saying "Oh I can just fix this with gifts later."

Yeah, but the combat was a metric fuckton better in Mass Effect 2. I hear they're bringing back a lot of the RPG elements for 3. If they took the combat from 2, and the RPG stuff (improved, hopefully) from 1, I'd be a happy man. I've also heard that the talent trees will be more in depth. Like, you won't have the option of just two spells at the end of the upgrade and stuff.

Here's a direct quote, actually...
According to Project Director Casey Hudson, Mass Effect 3 will continue, with adjustments, the approach of Mass Effect 2 by focusing on "an awesome sense of exploration, intense combat, a deep and non-linear story that's affected by your actions, and rich customisation of your armour, weapons and appearance" instead of an approach where the player "(equips the) hero by sifting through an inventory of hundreds of miscellaneous items and spend hours fiddling with numerical statistics" noting the "overwhelmingly positive" response Mass Effect 2 received for its approach
After listening to you react to it, I really need to see it.
Dude, you should. :bouncy:

Shit's on Netflix in HD, nothing is stopping you. ^__^

Plus it's like, 84 minutes long, perfect length.
I've always wanted to watch Battlefield Baseball, which is basically baseball vs. zombies.

Bro, that needs to be on Netflix. I'd watch it tonight.
