Speaking of grading, I TA for an online course, and this group of students is just...well...there's no words for them. :/

I don't get why people pay so much for college and then don't do the work. I can see not going to class...I can see doing the minimum to pass. But straight up just not doing the work? Pointless.
A friend TA'd and now teaches college classes, and he has said the same thing. I've read some papers that students turned in, and it's appalling how awful their English is.

I've seen all lowercase, no punctuation, huge run on paragraphs, and texting shorthand like "u" and "r". It's awesome.

Should have seen my papers. Most of the time I never gave a fuck. Like Chac said, it was something to do after high school. I should have failed college, I tried so little that I should have not been allowed to graduate.

I don't TA, but I go to an online college and every class of mine has its own forum so I see a lot of bullshit. People type like they're retarded most of the time and a lot of them don't fucking read and end up telling the teachers (that have the word TEACHER in bold under their screennames) to fuck off and calling them retarded and shit.

Not only that, but because the forums are for helping students that have trouble to set up study sessions with other students most "help" threads devolve into, "Yo, I'll give you $20 if you write this paper for me. I'm a soldier/working single mom/9-11 survivor and have been through so much, you basically owe it to me" (I swear to God, I've literally seen all three of those). The absolute best threads though are the ones where people post that they're going to quit the school and they make the biggest drama over how they get no help and how all of the coursework is way too hard and try to tie in crazy ass excuses as to why it's the schools fault.

Dude, I've spent like the last hour talking to people about Superman denouncing his American citizenship and it is surprisingly one of the deepest conversations I've ever had.

I've just about had it with Vanquish. Game just keeps fucking killing me with no rhyme or reason. Really poorly designed. It's a shame since some moments are really fun. Not enough to make me want to continue playing through its' bullshit though.
Been playing some Fallout New Vegas. 11 hours in and I'm at the strip does that sound about right or could I possibly be close to finishing the game? Currently level 12 right now. FO3 the max was level 20 before the dlc right right?
What main story mission are you on exactly? I was level 20 at the end of the main story, so you still have a ways to go, as soon as you tell me what mission you're on I'll be able to better tell you how far you have left, though.

I'm about 3 hours into Outland now. Beat the 2nd boss (the Priestess in the underworld) and then quit and played Black Ops for a few hours. The 2nd boss was a lot tougher than the first. Took a few tries to figure it out, then a few tries to pull it off.

Really impressed by the game though, easily the best of the handful of XBLA games I've played. Good mix of the platforming and exploring of a Metroid type game with the color switching bullet hell of Ikaruga.

Yeah, the difficulty does go up noticeably. I beat the third level/boss today and it was much harder than the previous ones. Luckily the checkpoints are good, so you basically can keep retrying the boss while learning its patterns.

Yeah, I'm thankful the checkpoints are so plentiful for sure!

The only gripes I have is I wish the Map showed explored areas and unexplored rather than just being a plain map--I can see that being a pain down the road when trying to find all the masks for the achievement--and that the camera is zoomed out too far sometimes and it's easy to lose track of where your are occasionally (like during the 2nd half of the 2nd boss battle).

But those are minor nitpicks for sure.

I just beat Act 3 in Vanquish. They're really turning up the BS in this game. Pretty much everything besides a normal robot kills me in 1 hit now. And the ratio of Normal to Big Enemies has gone from something like 50:1 to roughly 10:1. If I were a violent man, I'd smash it with a hammer and record it for youtube.

If I had to point out the biggest flaw in this game it wouldn't be the OHKO's, but instead the fact that you can't reload and then move if you're in cover. It really hurts the gameplay and makes you feel trapped when you should be free to move whenever you want.

I finally beat Story Mode in the new MK. I lost the final fight like 5 times. I only managed to win because all Shao Khan would do is taunt....
How is a 42 minute video considered a "quick look?"
I have no idea what the fuck I just watched.

Frisky: Did you hear that Matt's coming back to Giantbomb this summer?

This is brutal. Went to bed at 4:30, woke up at 8:30. Still doing school shit.

In short, probably no games today.

I wanna be like Broly and play a game I'm not enjoyingggggggg.

Doesn't everybody...?

Suppose that means I should fire up Mercenaries 2! I stopped playing that glitchy repetitive piece of shit halfway through... ugh, it makes me dislike gaming even thinking about it.
Joel: About to meet up with Benny and just got my high rollers suite.

You got maybe 3-5 hours, depending on how well you've filled out your map. I'd say level up to at least 18 before you go into the final battle (they will warn you). Also, even thought this has DLC, there's still an end to the game, so be sure to either save or do everything you want first.

I really enjoyed mercenaries 1. It kind of played like a precursor to just cause 2. Mercenaries 2 was all fucked up though.

Lame I want to kill Benny now.

Level requirements. There should be a scene in a movie where the hero is about the risk everything for the sake of the greater good and the wise elder whispers into his ear,

"Young man, your experience level is too low. Your chance of success is diminished from the lack of orbs you have procured."

New Vegas on the PC has given me no bug attacks or crashes. So far it feels like a more scripted Fallout with a more civilized wasteland. It has been fun, but there needs to be less go here and kill this person and more unmarked NPC quests. Being a Californian though has automatically swayed me to be an NCR, though I am not a friendly type.
I can never win the first blitzball game =[
You need Jecht Shot and everyone else on defense. Tidus can solo the front with Jecht Shot. Keep shooting for the goal, before a defender can stop you. The opposing goalie will miss if you keep firing shots at him

I loved Blitzball. I scouted for the best team and Jecht Shot 3 made Tidus the Kobe of Blitzball.

AI in fighting games is something you never should train against. Lower AI is just stupid and ridiculous AI (Hyper SF2 walk up flash kick Guile AI) just cheats.

The problem is that they are void of human thinking. There are 5 type of players in fighting games.

1. The beginner: They have no idea how to play or how to think. Thinks throwing is cheap and is unable to see patterns.

2. The novice: They know simple commands and can adequately block. However the a void of all strategy and fall victim to traps and throws.

3. The intermediate: BnBs flow from their hands and can easily gain win streaks with no problem. Their ability to cause their opponent to make a mistake however is not from their doing.

4. Seasoned Vet: They can cause people to make mistakes and in turn capitalize on your mistakes. BnB efficiency is rarely ever dropped. They can control the flow of combat.

5. Grand Master: The game is second nature to them. They think, they do. The character and mind are one. Unforced mistakes are very rare. They understand the matchup before the combat even takes place. They have seen more than others and are capable of mimicking other styles. Their strategy is not constant, it is always ever changing.

This could be applied to all forms of skill. Fighting someone better than you teaches you techniques you would have other wise never known. Plinking is an example, the AI doesn't plink. It helps in SSF4 to nail those 1 frame links. Human thinking allows you to understand how to improve while AI is void of improvement.

AI's just have:

-Dumb as fuck
-Dumb as fuck that can do BnBs and never blocks
-Cheater that does BnBs and blocks everything
-Asshole that knows your moves before you do, which causes them to move faster than you (metaphorically)

There is nothing to learn from the AI. The only positive thing about AI combat is to practice your BnBs against.

I am still in the novice stage for SSF4 and pre-beginner for MvC3.

You kill Benny a while before the end actually. As a matter of fact, you're right about to do it.

Honestly, my biggest problem with the game is there didn't seem like enough stuff to help me max out my character. I finished the game for Mr. House and Caesar's legion and in each one my character ended up only at Level 22 by the time the credits rolled, even though I did a shit ton of stuff. Have you decided on what end you're going for?
