Naw, there's a desktop in W8, thank god.
Yeah, but it's taken a huge backseat to the shitty Metro UI start menu with its huge ass icons and shit.

This shit would be acceptable on a tablet, but not on my monitor. I want more screen real estate and not gigantic icons on my desktop. :bomb:

It's basically like having to use Media Center to run everything. Hate it.

Supposedly they will include a regular Windows mode in it, which they'd be dumb not to. It's just not in the dev preview build.

I'd imagine there'll be options. Cool your cock, buddy
You guys must either (1) have your own place or (2) have your own study/game room or something. I know when I want to play games, I have to figure out if my significant other cares about what's on TV or if she's doing something else. A PSV with perfect ports of games I like to play on PS3, that I can take with me to the office and play on my lunch break or sit on the couch at home and play without the need for a TV... that's the appeal to me.

As for the DS, I don't remember any sidescrollers that were very good... it did have good puzzle games and some decent RPGs (remakes) at least. :)
I do live alone, so the TV thing isn't an issue for me. But I also tend to like the kinds of games on the DS more than most console games anyway.

As for DS sidescrollers, there were plenty of good ones: Contra 4, Kirby Canvas Curse, Castlevanias, Monster Tale, Princess Peach, Mega Man ZX, Sonic Rush, Henry Hatsworth, Legendary Starfy, and more.

And coming out soon are Aliens Infestation and Kirby Mass Attack, which both look fantastic.

But really, my favorite kind of games on the DS were stuff like Ace Attorney, Professor Layton, Hotel Dust, 999, Ghost Trick, etc. I was hoping more stuff like that would be announced this year for 3DS.

I wonder when FFX HD will come out... when they announced it, they said it was cuz it was the game's 10th anniversary... so it'd be sweet to get it this year.

Honestly, I'm more excited for FFX HD than any other RPG right now.

If you check my edit, I mentioned that they will have a regular mode in the final build.

So cool your cock, buddy. And stop playing that shitty ass Black Ops. :speaktothehand:

Hopefully it's the international version. I like being able to choose between sphere grids.
How the fuck did we end up with the ballsac sweat drippings that is FFX converted to HD but we're still waiting on that FF7 remake? :puke:
Also, how did this happen before the announcement of DMC Trilogy HD?! :(
FF7 was mediocre at best. FFX was actually a good game.

You don't have more than one TV or a DVR? Weird. The few times I want to play games and she wants to watch TV, she just uses the TV in our room. Also if she went insane one day and decided she had to use the TV in the living room we have DVR.
Man fuck Dog Fight Mode in the new Ace Combat. Straight up HAWX shit needs to stay in HAWX. I can control my own jet for a dog fight. Why do developers insist on making games that holds your hands through out the game?
I don't like how it has to be used so damn much. I wouldn't mind if you used it once in awhile, but the amount of times I had to trigger it was ridiculous. Also why is it mandatory? Why not let me choose to use it or not? Between that and the fact the game is now set in the real world really rub me the wrong way. It's a damn shame since I've been playing Ace Combat since the beginning.

Why does everybody in here think that FFX is good when It wasn't.

Uraizen, tell them all it's horrible so that we can move on.

Those MvC3 videos look tight. Vergil and Iron Fist were my top two out of the new characters, glad to see that they show.

FFX is horrible.

I agree with Uraizen.

He knows all about RPGs
just look at his steam account
and if he says FFX is horrible, it's probably horrible.

The only ones in that list I cared enough to play were the Castlevanias and Contra 4. And it's been so long since the last Castlevania, I pretty much forgot about them.

No it wasn't. It was a horrible game where you pretty much walked in a straight line from A to B for the whole game but were supposed to be wowed because the graphics were pretty and it was in 3D. The cast sucked (Lulu and maybe Rikku were good, Tidus was generic, Yuna, Auron, Kimari, Wakka all sucked). The story was complete gutter trash. Blitzball was shit. The only good thing about it was the battle system and sphere upgrades. Then again, this is my opinion, so I don't expect you to agree. :booty:

I have an hdmi switch that connects to both my TV and one of my computer monitors for when my gf wants to watch to tv and I don't.

yeah fuck linearity, it's never brought anything good to gaming. i can't name a single game that's even remotely decent where you walk from point A to point B.

True dat.

That's why WRPGs >>> JRPGs all day.

Gimme Oblivion any day over that tunnel crawler that is FFXIII.

i hate ninja gaiden nes because all you do is go to the end, fuck that!

now give me a porn game like daiteikoku, damn, you can choose with planets to invade and you can have sex in any order you want!
I'm hype for Gears. Just got back from GS. Talked to Gamestop chick for like an hour.
And you didn't close, because you're both a bitch and a pussy.

And leave my sister out of your inevitably feeble retort, because she thinks you're a goon, too.

It's hyped.

I'm not paying $6 for release day shipping, so Thursday for me. I'll catch up to everyone soon though.

More Demon's Souls work. Got through 2-2 and 3-1, and got Freke the Sage. Firelurker was a bitch.

Just gonna wait for amazon to deliver it. So I'll be up to play on Tuesday night, probably... well, actually, probably not. Gonna try and blow through that single player first. So Wednesday night for sure.

I'm seriously stoked to play Gears multiplayer again, though. Will it be as rad as it was back in 2007 when we played that shit all the time? It'd be nice.

I'm getting Gears from amazon with release day shipping (dat amazon prime). I probably will try to play through the single-player campaign before I touch the multiplayer. Hopefully UPS doesn't try to deliver it before I get home Tuesday.

I suggest that when we play Gears, we don't invite IhadFG. It's not his birthday anymore, so we don't have to pretend to like him or even be nice to him.

Back then, even I was hooked on that shit, that's just how sweet it was. Now... it's a much different story.

I could say all the same exact things about FFVII. The only difference is there's a world map. The game is still just as linear. Also we're really going to compare FFVII's cast to FFX's? The main villian of FFVII basically spends the game, well before Cloud kills him, going on a rampage because of mommy issues. It's not a horrible game, but I don't think there's any other game, except for maybe Ocarina of Time, that is praised so much more than it's worth.

I really quite like FFVII, largely because the world is so interesting... particularly Midgar. Sure, the bad guy has mommy issues and Cloud is emo, and the characters are all empty vessels for skills, but the game had heart.

But FFX.... man, I really love the piss out of it. If they redid the voiceovers or just used the Japanese ones, they'd have done literally everything I could have hoped for. I wouldn't want them to change much else.

And again, you show why I hardly ever agree with you on anything.

Ocarina of Time deserves just about any bit of praise anyone throws at it. In my opinion, it's one of the most revolutionary games I've ever played.

Seymour on the other hand is probably about the weakest and most pathetic antagonist in the entire Final Fantasy series.

I agree with this. FF7 is a good RPG, just not one worth obsessing over.

The Mana Knight.

Ocarina of Time however is amazing.

That's how I feel too. I enjoyed FF7 a lot, but it's not a particularly well crafted game, especially with the storytelling.

I think Ocarina of Time is pretty much perfect though.

And yeah, screw ihadFG. He sucks.
