I want YOUR money back.... For that mess.

I feel like Deus Ex: HR needs a European Extreme mode, especially since that is how I am playing the game. The game is great, but the boss fights are just there, nothing special. I'm still enjoying the game, just wish the boss fights were something more.

I am a pro at sneaking too, I still haven't even gotten the "stealth" or expanded radar skills. So Pro.

BTW, Money May says he never had a fair chance with HBO.
There is no reason for anyone to buy the radar crap in Deus EX.
Unless they have tons of extra Praxis points.

Like I do.
This is a jam!

Totally might finish Ghost Trick today, in a single day, haha. The game is totally awesome!
And Ghost Trick is all done, beaten in basically one play session, with slight breaks.
I want the Ghost Trick soundtrack.
Ya I wouldn't mind getting it either, there are a bunch of great tracks on there, Trauma is still probably my favorite one though.
Ghost Trick is fantastic. And it only gets better as it progresses.
You speak great truth oh wise sage. I remember you had mentioned liking this game a lot, so I finally got it. And you were totally right, this game is wonderful, certainly one of my new favorites. (I might even consider cosplaying Lynne in the future.)

Fist of the north star is only ten bucks at Amazon right now. I despise musou games, but I wanna go ATATATATATATATATATATATATA! Tough call.

If you're a FotNS fan then get it. You'll enjoy it.

This is a really dumb question because I feel like I already know the answer, but just how much depth is there to the combat? I'm not expecting DMC or Bayonetta levels of depth, but I don't want to be able to beat the game just by mashing.

That's a silly statement.
Bayonetta can be beat by mashing square/x (or whatever the punch button is). This won't work if you want to do the Alfheims or get a good ranking, but if you just want to beat the game, this will work. Dodge, mash punch, get hit, mash punch. I know, I did it when I orginally played on 360. :bouncy:

That said, I understand what you meant, I just wanted to give you a hard time. :p
In terms of variety, I'd guess your assumption would be correct and it would be more like a DW game than any of the staple action games.

Bought Ghost Trick and FotNS.

Played KotoR last night on Steam. Never played before.
Got the widescreen and 1080p mod to work.

Kinda fun, only wanted to test it out, but played for like 2 hours.

As with most musou games you can just mash if you want, but more moves are there if you want to use them. The only thing with FotNS that's different from say Dynasty Warriors is that it takes a lot longer for the move list to open up. Especially for Kenshiro.
Thinking about getting FOTNS as well, even though I've never seen any of the anime or read any of the comic.

I just like DW games.
You'll really like it.

Is it hard to get those mods to work? I'm thinking about grabbing it as well.

Dare I ask... what did you have equipped when you played? Did you grind to get some of the more godlike accessories and blow through it by mashing? If so, then yea, I could see that being done, just not on the higher difficulties. Same shit for DMC, you could mash if you want, but it's certainly not encouraged on the higher difficulties if you plan to beat the game.

Hmm... I mean... for $10, it might be fun just to mindlessly beat the shit out of people. Imma try the demo again and let that be my final judgement.

The reviews for the game make me think that this isn't very good.

However, my burning passion for Fist of the North Star makes me want to buy this so very badly. Surely it can't be as bad as Dynasty Warriors Gundam.

Besides, Toki died for our sins. It's the least we can do.

Bad idea. The demo is terrible.

I don't think it's as good as the DWG games. Also, people still read reviews?

1) Shit, really? Why is it terrible? I just want to use it to get a feel for the combat so I know what I'm in for.

2) I know, it surprises me too. I'd rather listen to people who enjoy the game and paid money for it than those who are forced to marathon through the game and get paid for it.

Oh c'mon. Reviews aren't necessarily a bad thing. I might be biased in saying that, but they can at least be a general indicator of quality in most cases.

Except Calladuty.

This is going to be a good game to play while on skype. I'll just be yelling "TOOOKKKKIIIIIIII" or "RAAAAAOOOOHHHHH" or "YUUUUURRRRIIIIIIIIIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" the whole time. It'll be sweeeeeeet.

EDIT: Oh fuck, I still had some credit left over. Alright, Imma buy it just to screw around in it.

Wouldn't work on non-stop climax because of no witchtime, but once I had Sharuba, it was stab-stab-stab-stab-stab with the "engage witchtime if you're hit" accessory. That's it. Occasionally pop an item which I had more than enough of. And I had no problem with the normal or hard difficulties that way... especially hard where I said "fuck it" and started really using items. The hardest part was probably in the prologue where it forces you to use 3 torture attacks in 5 minutes. That and the initial fight against Jeanne in chapter 2, since they flashback and you don't have Sharuba.

DMC4, on the other hand? I had to get really fuckin' good with the whole "Nero is meant to have a charged shot going at all times" technique, but once I had that, I managed the level of difficulty above hard (but not DMD -- 1 hit = death? I think I'd get beyond frustrated, so I skipped that). And I absolutely sucked with Dante, so he was probably closer to mashing than Nero was for me, especially since I felt like he was slow and I couldn't make him do shit.

In other words, you barely made it though hard by mashing? Everybody can get lucky once. :nottalking:

The demo is two levels. One is a boss fight with no context that takes place later in the game and the other is a normal level with no moves unlocked.

I'm a musou fan, I'm conditioned to hate reviews... Also I just don't see the point at this point in my life. I know what kind of games I like. I don't need someone to tell me if I will or not. Watching a video on youtube of gameplay more than tells me if it's a game I'll enjoy. I haven't read a review in over 10 years and I can count on one hand the number of genuinely bad purchases I've made.

I'm probably going to skip the story, so context won't matter to me. I skipped the story in NG, Bayonetta, DMC, God Hand, and basically every game except MGS and Phoenix Wright. I don't plan to make any changes here.

I generally use gametrailers as an indicator of whether or not I'll enjoy the game. They show a ton of gameplay, explain the experience they had, show footage of "bad graphics," and overall glitches. I don't need somebody to tell me whether or not I'll enjoy a game. Reviewers universally bashed DNF and I liked it; they also universally praised Deus Ex and I liked that just as much. I'd value Rei's opinion on a musou game over a reviewer's any day. Just like I'd value Hank's opinion on a fighter over a reviewer's.

Twice. And I could've done it again through the PS3 version if I wanted to. :p

You beat hard twice?
You beat hard twice?
Full through on 360? No. But a lot of the boss fights and the better chapters to get some extra halos after I was done with the story achievements? Yeah.
If you count PS3, yes. Though with PS3, I tried to do more variety in combos and did all the alfheims, so I had a little more variety.

To be fair, it was really dodge > mash sword. :booty:

So you got lucky and beat it on Hard once? That was my original point! Doing it on normal is no surprise.

Oh fuck you, Capcom.

Why do you care that Pauly D is in UMvC3 pointing at something? Is he pointing at Snooki?
You saw that, based on comments at TGS, that he's going to play a lot like Norimaro or the goofy fatass genie that was removed from TvC when it came to the states, right? Light attack is "looking for clues on the ground", Medium is "reading some court documents" or something? :nottalking:

And it wasn't luck. I got lucky beating Vanquish on hard -- that last boss battle was insane. There were no want to throw my controller moments with Bayonetta, nothing that kept me at a checkpoint for hours, even on hard. Only the Alfheims were difficult, which is why I skipped them. :p
Didn't you just buy a 3DS? You have a capable system... go order it from amazon. :p
It's not at the top of my list of games to get. In terms of DS games I need to get, 999 is the most important right now

1) Who the fuck is Pauly D?
2) You hate PW, your opinion is invalid and not welcome!
3) I'll see how he plays for myself before I pass judgement.
4) Lies, it was pure luck!

Don't you guys watch Jersey Shore together over skype?

I don't *hate* PW. I just don't think he belongs in a fighting game. For the exact reason that I don't like Norimaro or that fat genie bastard (or Gon, etc.). :p

I don't understand the clamor characters like him either. When MM Still isn't put in the game.

I don't understand the clamor over megaman; he played like shit in the versus games too which doesn't help either. At least we don't know how PW will play yet. At least you guys already have Zero and Tron from the megaman series.
lol didnt capcom insist over and over that the reason phoenix wasnt in MVC3 was because he just couldn't work in the game?
Yes, but Capcom is usually full of shit, so this is nothing new.

I bought FotNS. For $10, I don't care how much I didn't like that demo.

I also figured out that you can plug a external hd into a 360 and set it up to take 16gbs of memory. So I shouldn't have any issues with transferring my content over to the new one when it gets here on Tuesday.
