I know I'm rusty, but why can't I win a single confrontation in Batman Arkham City? I ended up sneaking in to the first building because there were too many thugs out front and now I'm getting shot while there are about 8 guys who won't stay down kicking my ass. :(
 
I don't know, mang. If you're talking about the court house, then you should sneak up to the top of the stairs to take down the guy with the gun and then swoop down to take on the thugs.

That'd be the place, that'd be what I was doing -- part of it is only having 1 takedown and I was pressing the wrong two buttons. :\
I mean, even the drop attack only stuns one of the 8 or so fuckers in there. Meanwhile, there's one gun you can't disable. And if you're not doing the correct takedown attack (the one you start the game with, /\+O on PS3), they just get dizzy, but you can never ground takedown them because you'll get knocked off...

What a pain in the ass. :\

Man, I always thought Calendar Man was lame as fuck, just in principle. But Arkham City's portrayal of him is pretty fuckin' wicked. Totally enjoying getting this trophy, even with the hassle of manually changing the date. :lol:

The only thing I've ever read that Calendar Man was involved in was The Long Halloween which he is only slightly a part of.

I liked him in the Silver Age where he wore his silly Calendar costume, but that was soooo long ago that I sometimes even forgot that's where he came from. I like him a lot in the Long Halloween, too.
 
Stupid question - when I have a Riddler green mark lined up to what I think is correct in the detective mode, what do I hit/press/hold to confirm it?

I haven't played the Arkham City, but in the first game it was holding down one of the bumper buttons on the 360 controller I think.

And I've done 1 thing where it told me to hold L2 to scan... however, I'm not sure whether or not I should be holding L2 while in normal mode or if I should be entering detective mode then pressing and holding L2 -- I quickly tried the latter, but didn't see any indication it was working.
 
Just saw the Steam sale, ya'll should really buy Amnesia for $4. I mean, it's PC exclusive, was updated with a free side story a while ago, and I'd consider it one of the best horror games of this gen.

Well you can do it in either mode and it should still give you feedback (sort of like taking a snapshot), although for the question mark things you might have to be in detective mode for it to actually succeed.

I didn't know about this free side story. I'll have to go back and do that. Agreed that it's totally worth the $4. It's a very good Lovecraftian horror game. And I love that you have no means of fighting in the game.

It's horrible. I fucking loved it.

If you get it (which you should), mod/"unofficial patch" the shit out of it. It takes it from borderline unplayable to "Wow, this is almost borderline unplayable."

But it's totally worth it. Holy fuck, that game was worth it.
 
I took a look at the steam sale. There aren't many good uraizen gifts, but there are plenty of good games in that sale.

One that I would personally recommend highly is Atom Zombie Smasher.
 
I just played the Sonic Generations demo...when did Sonic have a baby?!

How come Sega won't just call one Sonic Jr., and other one Sonic....... That would be more interesting than "classic sonic" and "new sonic."
