This is just so mesmerizing...

I finally finished the MW3 SP.

It was great right up until the end where someone decided to throw in the first and only timed section of the game. Not only are timed sections never fun for me, I think they are the laziest way to make a game more "difficult" ever. Note to all game developers who make story-based games, action or otherwise: stop making timed sections. They are unfun, lazy, and lame, no matter if there's some kind of context to it.
 
Beat Infamous 2. Some of the things at the end made me go "REALLY?" because of how bad they were. Talk about a rush job, sheesh. It sours my mood on the game a bit. I don't think I'll go back and get 100%, at least for a long time.

I went to bed at 2 AM, got up at 7 AM, went to breakfast and had 2 eggs, 2 sausage links, 2 strips of bacon, and 2 pancakes for $5 (my favorite combo), downed 3 cups of coffee, took a shit at the grocery store and bought some stuff for turkey sammiches all week, and got home an hour ago.

I'm going to crash soooooooo hard today.

It would probably work, THQ UK had a sale on the game and all the DLC for like $25-ish that was posted in the deals forum last month. I can confirm that when I used the product keys that THQ gave me it worked in Steam.
 
I sent amazon a trade-in of a shitty, falling-apart textbook and a PSP game. UPS lost it in the mail so Amazon just credited me the full amount of my trade in. $41 yeah yeah.

So I now have $80 in Gamestop credit and $40 in Amazon. Yeah yeah yeah

I only ever look at GAF when someone links to it, I mean I guess maybe I should be more interested given that they seem to have a more vocal (and based on that, active) transgender population than CAG. But that doesn't have a whole lot of bearing on any of the friendships I've ever made, and I feel like I've made a bunch of friends on CAG, especially in the GGT. :mrgreen:
 
I've never seen the appeal of GAF personally. I don't like just having one big gaming forum, vs. having it divided up like here at CAG. And people over their just take gaming way to seriously.

I guess that some industry folks post their is part of it, but I don't really care about that. I just want to chat about games (and other crap) with other gamers. Seems like a lot of the industry folk posting over their are just promoting and defending their games in their postings anyway.

An example, other than the Uncharted 3 patch on why GAF is good with the community and dev communication: one of the leads of reverge labs (ravidrath, i think) which works on SkullGirls posts there in the SG thread regularly. Community is getting their questions answered by the project lead, he's getting valuable feedback about requested features and such, it's a good thing. I think Raging Spaniard ended up being hired there as a secondary digital artist too. It's a nice community for all the shit they get (and all the idiot stuff that comes out of there as well: *cough*ponyGAF*cough*).

Uncharted 3 shouldn't have had to be patched in the first place. It should've been delayed until it was done.

Gamers who take gaming way too seriously and other devs...pretty narrow group, IMO.

Agreed. But I suppose it's a good thing for niche titles that will only sell to the hardcore, take gaming too seriously types.

But I'd suspect the wanted features of a pretty casual gamer like myself are pretty different than the average hardcore gamer posting regularly on GAF and the like.

Hell, even from most of you all here since I like easy games that hold your hand and are more about exploration and story and you all are mostly into harder games, skill based games like fighters etc. :D

You should count yourself lucky. For most people it seems the opposite is true. Get hit on a lot when in a relationship, and not when single.

That's a pretty narrow point of view. Your comment makes the assumption that all of GAF takes themselves seriously or are developers. I'm neither and I post regularly on GAF. Unless I take myself seriously and don't know it. :p

Sounds like a nice problem to have. The last time I was single, it took over a year to get over the girl who I was with previously, at least to the point of actively looking for something new. The one girl who was interested was slated to be married in 4-5 months and wanted me to be the other guy; I couldn't do it. As a 25 year old introvert, it was pretty hard to find a single interested woman, let alone several. :\
