Oh shit, I thought of something to ask you played-the-ME3-demo people. Specifically, anyone that played it on PC.

Does speeding through dialogue with the spacebar still result in accidentally picking dialogue options all the time? Because that is the worst minor problem in the entire god damn series.

EDIT: Also, Ice, I think this mod will help your eye problems. HOWEVER! it also changes all elves' faces rather dramatically. They're still noticeably alien, but they lose a lot of the weird "brow ridge" thing they've got going on. If you manually extract it, you can make it just for female dark elves by putting the appropriate file in data\textures\actors\character\darkelffemale.
I played it on PC, and I think that still did although sometimes it wouldn't, and I'm not sure if that was just if you move your mouse cursor away from the area where the radial menu appears when you hit space, or whether I just had my mouse pointed in a radial direction that had no option. But, either way it is there for sure in some way, and is still rather annoying.

Also, thanks I'll check that out Crotch, ya I'm not sure if that will fix the problem since in one screen it shows bags still being under a humans eyes, but in the dark elf one it shows the bags removed. Worth a try though, and maybe this means that they had another mod enabled for that second screen that I can try and track down.

See, the problem is that when these people take screenshots of their shit, they're often also running other mods, so it can be hard to isolate what exactly is changing what. But I'm pretty sure that one'll do it for you.

Gee el aitch ef.

EDIT: Now that I look a bit closer at it, I see that there's an optional file called "Smoothed Dunmer". That's obviously the one running in the last screenshot. I don't know if it needs the main file to run. The middle file, "Merged With LUEF", changes the brow ridge on elves like I mentioned earlier (and if you follow that mod back to its source, there's an optional file to clean up female Breton faces some), and requires the main file. The main file just smooths faces in general.

Goddamit, answer my question!!!

fuck it, I'm going to GAF.

Depends on how much Adderall the mods have, and if they are currently watching tranny/pony porn.

I don't know if I should make an interspecies romance joke or an EA joke or a paragon/renegade/friendship/rivalry/light side/dark side/approves/disapproves joke or a Wrex. Shepard. joke or a rape face joke or a joke about how there are no jokes about Jade Empire.

Therefore!

Alright, ihadFG, take a look at this map:

reckoning.jpg

Looks big, yah? I thought so too. I thought after I got out of that super green World of Warcraft forest (Dalenfarth), I'd have 75% more of a great game to encounter. After all, the weapons are tons of fun to try out (even the wand feels like a gun), the skills are powerful and satisfying (albeit pumping points into one skill will demolish everything in your path), and the melee combos look great. It's like someone got DMC in my Skyrim, took out any semblance of difficulty, and I'm loving it.

But you know, you're bored now, you're tired of facing wolves, spiders, bandits, and the little Covenant grunt like guys made of wood -- shit is too easy, too predicatable. Let's go to Detyre -- I hope we're ready!

What is Detyre? It's sand, and rocks. I don't even think there's music playing to its environment, either. It is a pretty dry place, thrown in their for the sake of being the desert region of another WRPG. And you know at this point the game has awful quest writing and structure (you knew it from the demo), like a scrunched together MMO made for one. But that's ok, you can ignore it, let's just explore these new areas and....more wolves...more bandits...more spiders. And whats the hook of Detyre, the mysterious desert region? What's the first thing the developer puts in your face? It's immediately another "oh please help me, my husband has gone missing!" quest line.

And the Plains of Erathell? It's a bunch of grass. The entire thing. Grass and magical stones you have to go out and touch, and they're all placed 10 minutes of sprinting apart. Wolves and bandits.

And Klurikon across the river? A copy and paste job of Dalenfarth, except...wait for it -- fog! And wolves and bandits.

And as you're exploring this world, you've inevitably tried all the weapons, you've inevitably plowed through every encounter with little interest beyond testing the occasional new spell (they look super cool, really, I love it). And the story is so generic it's insulting. They literally took the Orcs from Lord of the Rings, and you're the only super badass that can stop them. Think the story of Dragon Age, minus all the characters.

Stealth kills are cool too.

That's a shame. While I did enjoy the demo, I was somewhat worried about whether the game would stay fun for more than a handful of hours. And while most RPGs tend to keep you interested through story progression, I could already tell Amalur would be completely lacking in that department. I was hoping that the environments and enemies would at least keep the game fresh, but I guess that's not the case.

Finished Arkham City today. Pretty great. Really liked how it had a fairly mature storyline.
think it'd be cool if the Joker was actually dead.
I like the idea that Arkham takes place in a separate DCU where things can and will change.

I'm gonna watch a sweet movie as well.

Ghost Rider 2!

I got up to Remix 5 in Rhythm Heaven Fever today. I'm enjoy it for the most part as my entrance into the series. Some games seem tougher and more unforgivable than others though. Flock Step, the one I just did, was amazing. It fully encompasses what I've heard this series is about: Be deceptively simple but awesome at the same time. I almost got Perfect on it, but a Superb will do for now since you can't (annoyingly enough) Perfect games on your first go.

Oh, and not to mention Ringside. It only makes the game worth $30.

Rhetorical question: can I finish ME2 before ME3 comes out? >_<

I didn't have a lot of time to play last night, but what little I played in ME2 I ended up falling asleep. :p
Depending on how successful you want to be (ie how many people survive ME 2) then yes it can be done in under 40 hours. Probably anywhere from 15-30. But beware, if you do it too fast then your save will not be able to be imported into ME 3 because it have a now impossible outcome and you'll have to use whatever defaults are available for ME 3.

Interesting. I'd have figured that the Smoothed Dunmer sub-file woulda worked.

Those Necromancer robes? I think some people attack you on sight if you're wearing those...

Ya it is a necromancer robe, I didn't know that though... oh well, haha, I've been wearing them for a while now, and just so long as the people attacking me aren't giants or woolly mammoths I'll probably be fine (it would suck if I killed everyone at the mage school though, I should probably go there at some point since magic is what I'm focusing on).

Aren't peeps in Skyrim cool with necromancy? I remember someone at the college saying that.

Hmm. Having looked around a bit, I think you're okay wearing the robes anywhere. Some people might not talk to you, but that should be the worst of it.

More important is the fact that you're focusing on magic, though. Destruction magic is terrible in Skyrim. I mean, it starts off just fine, but its scaling is terrible - melee combat and archery have perks and enchantments that boost damage, but magic mostly has stuff that lowers cost, so killing things with pure destruction magic gets to be a huge pain in the ass as the game goes on. The fact that spells become progressively harder to use as they become more advanced doesn't help, either.

There are a ton of mods for that, though.

Yeah, I dropped destruction magic pretty quick -- I think I only got the perks for through adept magic, I think...

I had all sorts of perks in single handed combat though... and I think I had a bunch of the restoration perks as well... there's some sick shit in there, like regen rates, etc.

Summoning seemed surprisingly pedestrian as well, I was disappointed. I never got beyond a storm atronoch, not sure if there was one, but I think I was only an adept perk level there too, if that. They were definitely way toned down and I used them as distractions for healing time, etc.
