My dad just emailed me coupons to Staples.
Someone should tell my dad that no one goes to Staples.

Finished Catching Fire. Gonna go pick up Mockingjay today, I guess.
Can't decide if I want the real thing or just the kindle one.
The Mako in comparison to the Hammerhead was a much more preferable vehicle, mainly because it would survive some combat without exploding when a light breeze would hit it. Some of the places you had to drive it were a bit ridiculous, which made it a bit annoying over time.

Using it for all the planetary exploration wasn't terrible, though if it was ME1 + the Hammerhead, I'd have told Bioware where to go stick it.
Compounding the problem? No quicksave while in the hammerhead, faster-firing enemies, no map, and gimmicky level design.

On the plus side, it could actually go up.
Legacy and Mark Of The Assassin showed that Bioware can do good locations in DA2 that don't repeat themselves, given the time to do it.

I think if DA2 had six more months in the oven, maybe even three more months, it wouldn't have been such a "oh, we're back in this dungeon again for the fifth time?" feel to it.

Hopefully DA3 gets enough time in the oven to make it not have location reuse issues like DA2 did.
I had many... problems... with DA2 and even Legacy and Mark aside from the reused assets. Problems I don't think simple time would have solved.

Couldn't have god damn hurt, true. But why was it given the premature birth in the first place?

Lack of map is also something that makes no sense to me either. The level design, I can suffer through that.

And yes, it did go up, which would have fixed a few issues in ME1 locations to get to, and made too many more in the exchange.

Maybe the Mako and the Hammerhead will have an illegitimate love child and all our woes will be fixed. Flying pigs in the cargo compartment, bundled in for good luck.

I think it was rushed out when it was because dropping it in Q3 or Q4 of this year would have had it lost with other big-name releases coming out in that timeframe. I think even moving it to later into Q2 of 2011, maybe July, might have given then some time to fix some of the ... problems. Of course, not all of them, though it couldn't have hurt.

Let's hope DA3 is a Q2 or Q3 2013 product, if not Q4. Hopefully give them time to make sure it's not rushed out like DA2 was, especially with ME3 now gone gold.

Gamefly has a good sale going on. El Shaddai is $13 for anyone who was interested but missed out on getting a copy. I'm thinking of picking up Crysis 2 for $13...

You'll have fun with Crysis 2 for $13.

I want Catherine and Deus Ex which are also on sale, but I got Enslaved and Nier coming my way, so no point in getting anything more. And I still have Amluar to review.

I recommend dropping Enslaved in the trash upon arrival.

Listen guys, all I know is that Enslaved won multiple goty nominations from members of the GGT. On top of that, we're talking the creators of Heavenly Sword, a game with such polished combat that the developers are now being given the reins of the DMC franchise.

I'm giving Enslaved a fair shake.
Said they won't come to console, but I guess anything Capcom says is irrelevant.
Where?
Is wrong.
Garbage disposal to dispose of it as fast as possible?

If you're looking for a good game that has trees Jurassic The Hunted is far more enjoyable.

It has dinosaurs.
Come on, man. Enslaved is trash. :nottalking:
We're going agree to disagree.
Well, people got what they want, I guess? Tons of DLC instead of a disc upgrade.
I'll buy the Cody pack and the Bryan Fury pack. And I can skip the 4 characters in the 3rd pack that I'd never use. I'd prefer it if the Bryan pack, as I shall call it, had Sakura/Blanka (or Dudders, I guess, but not Elena!) as well as Lei Wulong.

Then Jack/Alisa/Elena could rot in hell.

I love dinosaurs, I'll look into it.

Nooo, Dudry und Arisa are awesome.

I'll willingly be part of the problem and purchase that DLC.

I gotta agree with Shrike here. I know the GGT has a hate-boner for Ninja Theory, but I loved Enslaved. I still don't think they should be making action games though.

Even the ending?

I mean, I gave the game a passing grade, it was a solid B- or so until I met Pigsy. Then the game went to hell. The salvageable parts didn't change any of my opinions of Ninja Theory, as HS was a solid game in parts... however, the bad parts just made me fear their "vision" for DmC more than ever.

You're only part of the problem if you pay extortion prices for silly DLC, like horse armor. If you're paying reasonable prices for quality DLC, good show. ^_^

All I know is people got what they wanted and still bitch. I actually prefer new disc releases because it's often cheaper than buying DLC in pieces.

While I didn't like the final chapter (too combat focused), I did like the ending.

Loved Pigsy though. :p

I'm also worried about DmC though. Combat has not been NT's strong suit. I enjoyed it in Enslaved when it was used as a part of a larger variety of gameplay. But when it went on for too long and became the focus at the end, it got tedious.
Played it, hated it.
Same.

Aside from the fancy motion capture they used for the characters to trick people into thinking they were likeable, there was nothing good about it.

That's true if you want all of it. But if you just want one or two things, then DLC would be better.
That's true if you want all of it. But if you just want one or two things, then DLC would be better.
I'd rather get all of it for cheap than pick out a few things for what will probably be small pieces of content for 1/4 the price of a new disc.

In the case of these particular 12 characters, I'd rather it be DLC, so I can just buy Lei Wulong and maybe Bryan Fury instead of shelling out $40 for a new disc.

With that said, I'm not opposed to a complete edition disc or something that would include all the DLC for people who want to do that as long as it doesn't replace the current edition of the game.

If the DLC leak is anything to go by, you won't be able to pick and choose characters. You'll get four chars per pack for $8 and be forced to accept ones you don't want! M'kay?

Street Sharks is on Netflix in case you didn't know and that knowledge tickles your fancy.

Well, that's less good, but still better than being forced to accept all the ones I don't want at $40. I'll probably just stick to whichever pack has Lei Wulong then.

I hope it's the one with three other chars you don't want.

Do we know who is supposed to be in which pack?
They should let me buy a fighting game with one character, that way I don't have to decide which character I want to play as.
This is a smart idea.
Do we know who is supposed to be in which pack?
No, technically they haven't even announced these dudes as DLC on consoles. I'm just going by leaks and, well... common sense.
Josh, what Yann Tiersen album was I supposed to listen to?

EDIT:
fuck that I'd rather listen to Bon Iver
Well you said you wanted something dark, so I suggested his collaboration album with Shannon Wright (which to be frank is more like a Shannon Wright album than a typical Yann Tiersen album).
