GGT 230 thinks J-Cart and Frost are whiny babies

Calling them toons is pretty stupid, though. During all my MMOing that was always the thing that bothered me most. Why not just call them avatars? Growing up the only people I knew that called game characters toons were ghetto black people. Didn't make sense then and doesn't make sense now.

Aaaaanywho, I'm bored. Still been playing that Injustice app. I finally hit a hard pay-wall. Time to wait it out until my characters are rested enough to fight again.

toons sounds cooler than avatar
and stop being racist against gheeto black ppl
they have good ideas all the time
jungle juice, dipping cigs in cough syrup, purple drank
have u rly never played an mmo b4
or are u trying to be sly?

He is trying to be stupid.
Neither -- I know a few WoW players in passing and have seen them refer to their "toons" but it seems like a funny way of saying character... reminds me of Who Framed Roger Rabbit -- and I don't think of an Orc Shaman the same way that I think about those loveable toons from Toon Town.

Usually, adults try to distance themselves from things considered "childish" and while an MMO seems nerdy as fuck to most people, it doesn't necessarily seem kiddy. So it seems weird to me that people refer to their MMO characters as toons -- another meme I'm destined not to understand, I guess.
I like Lost Planet too. :bouncy:

There are three elements to this post and I don't understand any of them.

as a dreg of society,
I don't understand how you can have a job like that
and still not only be so stupid,
but then announce it to everyone on twitter.

can you really not think one single step ahead on this?

Back in the D2 days we all called them chars.

What's more depressing then starting a kickstarter that no one backs it up?

This is so true. I spent more time playing D2 than any other game. It just highlights how disappointing D3 was.

I've been reading the third book in the Thrawn Trilogy. So far it has been so good. I think next steam sale I may go wild on the SW games.

I agree with this, I've played a fair share of MMOs or games such as D2 and I never liked calling them toons, I always used chars/their names/or just wrote out characters because it just seems better to me, I've always found paper doll to be weird for a character sheet as well though.

jimbro, I'd definitely be interested in pics and maybe a write-up from evo. Seems like a fun time, even though I have no false hopes of ever participating.
Also I made a thread for Evo if any of you wanna get off your lazy asses and come hang in Vegas...

I'd love to, but I won't be able to. I was actually just talking to Frosty, Hank, and Uraizen last night about going to Evo and what we'd play. I'd really like to play 3S and SoulCalibur against some seriously top tier players.
Me and SnakeDawg are playing Defiance together.

It's as hawt as it sounds.
I just got it so I'll join with you guys as soon as I get through the tutorial stuff. Probably some time tomorrow evening.

Snakey, Whoknows, and I did some backdoor alley shit for our copies.

Games alright. Feels like a sluggish Borderlands in terms of straight up gameplay.

I've been playing a good amount of Defiance on 360, and I've really been enjoying it. I'm definitely getting a Borderlands vibe as well, and the PVP modes in it feel like a normal fast paced third person shooter. Plus for MMOs, I like getting in at launch when there are more people on/so I don't miss any event stuff, I know with this game they will have weekly missions tying to the TV show and I liked the first 15 minutes of that they put up quite a bit and got a bit of a Stargate vibe, which is my favorite sci-fi television series so I'm hoping it's good.
