Ooo, I'm a Platinum Nintendo Club member. Ordered the figure set. I'm sure my kids will get a kick out of 'em.
Fixed.
That shit's expensive as hell though.

I knew guys that had punchcards for different Soaplands. Pay for 10 visits, get the 11th free.
Hmm... not really sure what I should do with the next year. I'm not sure if Ima get off any of these law school wait lists, but I don't really want to go to the schools I got into. If I reapply in the fall, I'm basically guaranteed to get into a lot more places and get way more in scholarships. But then I have to find a job, and that's going to be impossible.

What to do!?
take the time off, live off whatever money you have (or sell off your game collection), and um, party until you have to go to law school :)

Are internships at law offices difficult to come by these days? Not a snarky question, I really don't know.

You're a family man and have a Juri avatar instead of a Guile one?! Tsk.

I'm actually playing through Mario Galaxy right now... I have 64 Stars and I'm about to end the game. It's more fun than I originally thought. And I hear MG2 is better... might get it. AHHH!
You're a family man and have a Juri avatar instead of a Guile one?! Tsk.
Ironically, I'm better at Guile than Juri (which is not saying much).

However, Juri is a lot more fun than Guile.

At least, fun for my eyes.
Smash Bros is a lot of fun online :D
I never had good luck with Smash online. It was ALWAYS laggy as fuck.

Wow I just failed an extreme track on Trials HD... via timeover. That's 30 minutes and 400+ bails later! Only fucking 2 obstacles left too.

fuckKKKK

yeah, market is the worst its been in about 20 years. There's definitely competition for unpaid internships, which is pretty sad.

For the extreme tracks, the time limit can definitely be a problem until you get used to how to do the obstacles. I remember being one of the first 80 or so people on the leaderboards to beat all the levels in that game during the first week. Lots of frustration, but still extremely rewarding. I'd suggest looking at some other people's replays.

Finished every level except Inferno II now... gonna save that one for tomorrow. Who knew that a dirtbike game could be so damn good?

Honestly what fucking rock have I been living under for the past two years? I've owned Tales of Vesperia for a long time, and I'm kicking myself for not starting it sooner. I think its becoming my favorite RPG this generation.

Work full price or for free, never cheap, is what I always say.

fuck you, Scirvir. You bleed to death and my character tendency didn't shift because of it. RAGE.

Any DS people know of an easy way to shift your character tendency to white?

Have you played a Tales game before? It's easily my favorite RPG series, so I'm glad to see someone else enjoying it.

wait...there's character tendency along with world tendency??

just killed the red dragon. Compound long bow + rat's ring = about 5 minutes to kill him. Then I went and killed Miralda for that awesome armor set. Glad I picked a girl character!

Yeah. Kill NPCs, you become black. Kill Black Phantom NPCs, you shift toward pure white. It affects some weapon damages and gives some bonuses... plus there's a ring you can only get if you have pure white... I'm on playthrough 3 -- I should have fucking got the PWCT out of the way first, but I didn't understand the game properly yet. :\

Seems like there's always something new to learn about this game.

Could you go to Miralda's spot in 1-1 and farm the BP zombie guys over and over to shift it?

Easiest way is to defeat BP invaders while playing online. Just hang out in 4-1. You'll get invaded. BP Miralda and winning the 3-3 boss fight (against a human player) are easy too. The rest of the BP NPCs can be kinda rough. Especially that psycho in 4-1.

Nope. There's only 5 that shift it, besides playing online.

BP Miralda, BP Scirvir, BP Selen, BP Satsuki, BP Rydell

Kill any with soul steal or poison cloud or pushing them off a ledge, and you don't get the +20% shift towards white.

You can also defeat invading BP, but that's a pain in the ass.
Yes, you can farm BPs to shift WT.
I'd be inclined to do that, but it's kind of scary at SL 182. I think that would make it very hard to get someone from 172-192 to be looking for me in 4-1. :\ Also, I'd be worried I'd get my ass kicked.

yea, guess you're right. Probably not many people playing at that SL. And those who are, would probably be a pain in the ass to beat. Can you raise CT by helping out as a blue?

Still playing a ton of peacewalker and I'm already roughly 39hours in still have alot to unlock. It's nice knowing I only payed $10 for it.

Not the best Metal Gear (awesome 2nd ending though) but probably the one with the longest legs.

I am kinda glad there's all these Monster Hunter ripoffs coming out though. Seems like every major japanese company has one... Square- Arcane whatever, Namco- soul eater, konami- MGS PW, etc.

According to the demon's souls wiki, no.

Towards White

Defeat Black phantom that invaded (Although it may not affect your tendency if a blue phantom is present or strikes the killing blow)
Online and in Body form, defeat an invading Black Phantom player
In 3-3, Defeat Old Monk in Online Mode (counts as Black Phantom PK). Offline mode doesn't count.
Defeat Unique Named NPC Black Phantoms which appear only with Pure Black World Tendency.
This applies only to these five unique "named" NPC Black Phantoms (Miralda, Scirvir, Rydyell, Satsuki, and Selen). Defeating any of these will shift the character tendency 20% from neutral towards white (Northern Regalia damage increased by 27), and defeating all five will move the character's tendency from neutral to pure white. There are other Black Phantoms which won't adjust your character tendency (tested after Patch 1.04) such as the two BPs in the Crystal Lizard nest tunnel in Stonefang (2-2) or the three BPs that appear just beyond the Penetrator's hall (1-4). Killing Black Phantoms Ostrava and Garl Vinland will also not adjust your character tendency, even though they are named.
1-1 Defeat Black Phantom - Executioner Miralda
2-2 Defeat Black Phantom - Scirvir the Wanderer
3-1 Defeat Black Phantom - Lord Rydell
4-1 Defeat Black Phantom - Satsuki
5-2 Defeat Black Phantom - Selen Vinland
Note: Killing these five Black Phantom NPC in certain manners (details uncertain) will not trigger the shift in Character Tendency. Here are some tested examples:
Killing Black Phantom NPCs with Soulsucker.
Let Black Phantom Miralda fall to her death in the stairwell.
Let Black Phantom Scirvir the Wanderer fall to his death
Let Black Phantom Rydell fall to his death.
Killing any Black Phantom exclusively with Poison Cloud.
*KILLING A BP BY HAVING THEM BLEED TO DEATH!!!* (added by me, right now)

It's just weird.

anyway... I'm surprised nobody has noticed how aggressive Hudson has become with digital distribution. Out of all the japanese big names they seem to understand it the best.

Well, it just seems like they are willing to do anything to try making some scratch. Who knows if it is actually being successful for them or not. I haven't checked their financials myself...

Do you guys do PVP in demon's souls? The gamefaqs board seems to be pretty into it (which is a surprisingly great board, btw.) I've never done pvp in an RPG.

I don't do it intentionally, but I've beat down a couple fuckers who invaded when I had just beaten a boss and regained body form.
Soo, wtf. I have 10 GB left on my 60GB, and I barely have anything on it. I have like 5 actual Game Data's and like 15 game saves. But I have no music or video. I do have like 10 PSN games, but can they seriously take up THAT much space?

EDIT: Bwahahah, check out my new blog post. http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/blog.php?b=15376
Well, a 60gb ps3 has probably about 48gb of space. Add to that whatever PSN downloads you have (they can range to over 1gb, I think, in Wipeout HD or Ratchet & Clank's cases). Then add game saves, patches, DLC, game installs (SSF4 takes up like 4gb, I think), etc. Home also takes up a couple gee-bees if you've ever logged in and fired it up.

Yeah, HDDs don't actually have the amount of usable space advertised by the manufacturer. Plus, you have consider some amount of space is for the PS3 OS, another amount of space is buffer for whatever processes are going on, of course the game data which can be in the GBs depending on the game, etc etc etc.

As for DS, I play offline. The invasion stuff is annoying, although I can see the appeal of PvP. I suppose if I ever finish NG+ and grab Soulsucker I might be more inclined to give it a try.

I play in soul form pretty much all the time, so I don't really care about getting blues to assist.

Me too. I'm so busy shifting WT so I can try to get my CT to white, that I stay offline these days.

183 now. I want my faith to hit 30 so I can carry another decent miracle with me.

Okay, I think I got past stage 1-1 in DS. Neat. I'm not sure I totally get how everything works yet, but the game is fun in a very weird way. There's something addictive about the game.
