Best ending ever.
I don't put points into guns because I don't want to put points into guns. I still take potshots with Benny's pistol to try and cripple their wings and I've got explosives and throwing weapons, though the fact that I can't recover javelins makes me sad because javelins are fucking sweet-ass. Cazadores are manageable so long as they don't swarm in bullshit numbers, and even deathclaws go down fairly easily thanks to super slam.

Anyway, I just got through with ED-E's upgrade from the Followers, so all that should get a lot easier (unless jsawyer.esp nerfed his upgrade or something). But no more New Vegas for me for a while since I'm visiting my parents up north, anyway.

I tried so hard to get into the original NWN, but after the Baldur's Gate campaigns it was so lackluster.

I'm assuming Crotch just gave the correct answer.

I'm back, well sort of, haha. So much of December has been moving to a new place and getting situated there (moved in with an old roommate from college to save on rent), and along with that trying to deal with everything involved with my impending unemployment which has now begun since I'm still looking for a job.

I'm on vacation right now though, which means that I don't really have a lot to do so I'll be around... except that my my breaks with my family always seem to be less relaxing and more spending a lot of time with them (which is fun) but I could honestly use a nice break from stress. I also don't have a whole lot to play games with, my laptop is alright for some games of LoL (assuming there aren't huge lag spikes) and more basic stuff, but I only brought my Vita and DS with a couple games for both (I'm hoping to put a dent in Persona 4 over this break). I also brought a bunch of comics to read.

I haven't seen much on Steam that I really want (which is probably good given my employment status, haha), thought about Dishonored but since I haven't even gotten to Deus Ex yet and it isn't that cheap I'm fine waiting and working on the stuff I own.
Dog, I impulse bought darksiders 2. I should've waited until $5. :(
Nah, it's a good game.
trying to deal with everything involved with my impending unemployment which has now begun since I'm still looking for a job.
Ouch, sorry to hear that.
Ouch, sorry to hear that.
Yeah, it sucks. Mostly it's been stuff like figuring out what to do about medical insurance, where to put my 401k, dealing with getting everything squared away at my old apartment along with the move, trying to sign up for unemployment (which has been terrible so far due to California's system which is forcing me to apply over the phone rather than online, but over the phone involves trying to call during a time where you aren't disconnect you due to the system being flooded, haha), and then sandwiching that stuff between taking phone interviews, going to on-site interviews, and doing programming tests for companies.

For this break though I'm just trying to take it easy, except for signing up for unemployment which I'm still battling to do, and a few e-mails that I need to get sent out.

It has been kind of an awkward month too, haha. So the really good friend I ended up moving in ended up getting a job offer to a job which we both had interviewed for (and this was right after I declined the only job offer I've had so far (to be fair though this is the outcome I foresaw when I made the decision)) so I think he felt kind of bad taking it since he already had another offer, but honestly I told him to just pick what made sense for him and I'd figure out what I was going to do (especially since even if he turned down the offer there was no guarantee they would offer the job to me outside of the fact that a friend within the company and the recruiter said that they thought my interview went really well (so there is still the possibility for a job there if another position opens up)). That was followed up by my dad flying out to visit me in early December and getting roped into helping my move for a bunch of the time he was here. And then my roommate setup to have his "girlfriend" (i.e. he says they aren't really in a relationship yet, but they basically are, haha) right up until two days before I flew out for my holiday break. Basically this past week she was here till Wednesday and my week looked like: Monday (start a programming assignment), Tuesday (finish programming assignment), Wednesday (on-site interview), and Thursday (flew back to Colorado). With a bunch of insurance and 401K stuff mixed in.

Honestly it's all been a little overwhelming which is why I want to use this vacation as a breather before jumping back into it all again.
I've missed you.
I've missed all you guys too; sorry about missing all those times you texted me to jump on Skype.

Started playing a little bit of Hotline: Miami. Game is a lot of fun, although I can see it getting frustrating or repetitive if it goes on too long.

Should've waited until $0.

Why can't more people do this?

KOTOR2 is taking over my life. I can't stop thinking about my lightsaber mastery and how I'm going to be a remarkable bastard that masters force lightning early on.

Yep! I started it up yesterday and got stuck in a room with some glitchy droids though, so I'm going to restart it. And you're right about Dual pistol Jedi. Holy fuck, they're beastly.
BSG tomorrow?
Not Monday for me, and probably not even the Monday after that. You'll have plenty of time to watch the show, at least.

Canadian Christmas.

I'm visiting my parents up north for a while and didn't bring my headset and also no way in hell am I trying to use Vassal with this tiny god damn screen.
"Stuck in a room with droids" describes a lot of the first five hours of the game. What happened?
Okay, maybe you can help me with this because I can't figure out what to do next and I really don't wanna go through the first 2 hours again. I went to the Fuel Containment area with the force fields in the Peragus Mining Tunnels and used the main console to turn off the force fields around the Fuel pumps and clear all droid commands, which seemed like a genius idea at the time, but there are two droids on each side of the Fuel Pumps now that are blocking my way forward. I'm supposed to be able to use Demolitions on them to blow them up and clear the way, but for some reason I can't so it looks like I'm going to have to restart the whole thing.
You don't want to know what happens when Joel is stuck in a room with a droid.
I do terribly sweet things to them.
Well I'll be visiting my parents tomorrow as well, so I wouldn't have been able to play until late anyway.
Aww, I'd be down to play something with you, bro. Maybe Cards Against Humanity?

I could do that if we had enough people (preferably 4 or more).

I'll just have my laptop with me, so no console games for me unfortunately. I can skype at the very least though.

Guys, I wanna play an RPG. Give me a recommendation.
Any style.

Was the Witcher 1 any good?

So many games, so little time! D:
I wanna play a game, start to finish, over Christmas break.

Finished Miami: Hotline. It was basically the perfect length. It didn't overstay it's welcome and the mechanics remained fun throughout it.

Hm. That situation doesn't sound too familiar, Joel. And I don't have the game installed on this computer so I can't even boot up an old save file and check it out or anything. I really don't remember any droids that you had to blow up to progress. Like, a couple containers, and a side room for T3, but not this. You sure you're even trying to go in the right direction? If you are where I think you are, there are multiple ways to go...

*Know* that the only RPG worth playing is Planescape Torment.

Also, The Witcher 1 was a fucking mess.

Actually, PST is a fairly niche game and though I love it to death I don't think it's something everyone should play. But you should totally check it out.
