As soon as I'm stopped being labeled as the Sony fanboi. Never...
See we're both fans of those respective platforms. But being a fan doesn't make you a fanboy. People just like to jump to conclusions.

I like nintendo platforms as much or more than Microsoft ones. I'm just not a big fan of sony. I'm allowed.

I like good games, and I'm a fan of good games. I've never really had loyalty to any one system.

In past generation my most played consoles were: NES, SNES, N64 (probably, played the hell out of PSX as well), PS2 (played the GC a lot too, didn't play that much on the Xbox), 360.

I just go where the games are. Before this gen I had multiple consoles, this gen I didn't other than having a 6 month period or so where I had a Wii and a 360 before selling the Wii, as I just don't game enough anymore to keep up with more than one system.

Next gen MS has an edge since I love Gears of War, Mass Effect and Halo. But Sony could easily get my money instead if they line up better exclusives. I probably won't buy until the first price drop so I can both save money and make sure I get the right console. Pretty much no chance I go Nintendo though as I just got burnt out on their franchises and don't care for motion controls and casual games.

I am a big playstation fan (I grew up with their products) but the PS3 is not my favorite console this generation. And when I was younger I was avid about "defending" the underdog console on the boards during the console launches. Last Generation was Xbox and this generation was PS3. CAGs never forget...

microsoft points are buy $20 get $10 coupon for next purchase at kmart this week.

meh i saw it as getting a free dead rising 2 out of it, or at least money off that game. Which I wanted to buy anyway. Not going to find anything better than that, I don't think.

I'm also a fanboy of good games. I prefer 360 but only for reasons like controller/friends on XBL, and I'd be fine with Nintendo if they hadn't RUINED GAMING.

Starcraft 2 might possibly be the most frustratingly awesome multiplayer game I've ever played. Then again I usually stop playing most multiplayer games after I get frustrated.
Finally beat SP vs the world. Only stage that gave me trouble was the last stage. I've played it at least 6 times or more.
I tried playing today but still stuck on stage 2. :whistle2:(

Anyway, I'm at the very last save sphere in Star Ocean: TLHI (PS3). I decided to hold off beating the game until another day since I don't want to stay up late tonight and not get much sleep for work tomorrow.

Played Tales of Phantasia X on PSP. Liking it so far even if dungeons are simplistic. Combat is still fun. I also played the remake of ToP on the same disc. Definitely better than the GBA version, but wish more was remade before (like implementing more improvements made to Tales battle systems).

Also got to play Ace Combat Joint Assault on PSP. Only one mission played, but so far so good. Will play more later.

As for this gen of consoles, I think they are both good and bad (overall good though).
+Online integration in games has improved.
+Trophies/Achievements make me play games more.
+Having a buddy list and seeing what games friends play is huge,
+Taking advantage of HDTVs is great.
+Having updates and DLC do more good than bad IMO.
+Lots of media features in consoles compared to before.
-Too few good Japanese games on HD consoles compared to previous gens.
-JRPGs on consoles are pretty sad.
-There seem to be much less variety in games which aren't downloadable.

Pricing isn't bad IMO. Pricing was bad on SNES/GEN/N64 paying $50-$80 for new games.
-Having to pay for too much (charging for themes, avatars, etc. gets a bit crazy).

I keep getting lost in other m, at least in these beginning areas. It's kinda nice not to have a game handhold you so excessively. I haven't searched for the way to progress in a while.

going to try to play through halo 1, 2, and 3 before reach comes out. Going to do 1 and 2 on PC this time. Nice to have HD resolutions and 60FPS on those. I still think Halo 1 is great. Anyone else on halo 1 pc? wanna multiplayer?

Do you enjoy this? I enjoy unforgiving difficulty, but not getting lost in environments.

This basically sums up on my thoughts on games.
Team Ninja should have just made Cooking Mama with Samus stuck in the kitchen.
Genius! Pitch it to Nintendo for the 3DS!!

I wouldn't say I enjoy it but missing a small crack in the wall that I had to bomb even though it was right in my face brought me back to the old metroid games.

How close to being done am I if I just completed the
Turian and Rachni
story missions in Mass Effect?

I'm not one to really notice or get obsessive over visual issues, but I'm seeing a ton more screen-tearing and severe drops in framerate in Mass Effect than anything else I've seen this generation.

Ah, I never played games like metroid when I was a kid, so I don't get that nostalgia factor from stuff like that.

And frame rate dropping to shit.

And textures on characters and backgrounds loading after the conversation has started 8 times out of 10.

And horrible inventory management.

Hehe, kidding, but Dead Rising 2 does have those same issues, couldn't resist.

It's fun, but yeah, framerate is shitty, texture loading during cutscenes... ugh. Inventory is same.

Character models during cutscenes seem a lot worse this time no? I remember thinking they were nice in the original.

Oh well, all this does is make me fret about the PS3 version if the 360 one is so poor technically. Will be interesting to see the PC one.

I really don't understand how people get lost in Other M. Also, the only thing unforgivably difficult in that game is Hard Mode (Description:
99 Energy, 10 Missiles, no pickups
). If you want masochistic, that mode is definitely up your alley. I hate hard games, and I somehow managed to beat it.

the only part i have really gotten lost in is after the first big series of boss fights - before you fight that big hive thing that has the flying enemies spawning out of it.

There's a smallish crack in the wall that's not immediately obvious to bomb. I did some searching around for some time.

I've played less broken games and had less fun with them than with ME1.

Go play it on PC plz cuz my friend did and he said it ran fine, but I can'[t trust his dog named word

I doubt it will be much better. This would be the first PC port that Blue Castle has done.

I think I may pick Reach up at TRU because I believe I have a GC sitting around here somewhere for them. Now where to get Dead Rising...

I'm realllllly wanting to get Fable 3, but I don't think I'll be able to swing it till Christmas.

I picked up Shank last night. fuckin' awesome!

They posted HD video of the PS3 version running over in the Case Zero thread on GAF. Looked fine to me. Then again, I didn't notice framerate problems and inventory is part of the game design, which is simple and straightforward and limited, as it should be.
I'm just waiting on my $25 gc to GS to come in before I order.

I've got Fable 3 pre-ordered from Amazon, I feel bad for buying Fable 2 pre-owned so to make up for it I'm getting 3 day one. Should finish 2 this week.

Not sure what I'll play next, no Reach for me this week.
You really liked Fable 2 enough to justify a day one full MSRP on Fable 3?

Wow. :#
Yeah, well with Amazon you get $20 credit back. I'm enjoying the first one plus as I said I feel bad for buying it pre-owned.

No Reach for anyone this week ;)

How dare you exercise your right as a consumer!

Mass Effect 1 did have a lot of tech problems with slow down, some pop up, the slow loads (elevators etc.).

But nothing bad enough to really lessen my enjoyment. Still one of my all time favorite games. But I was glad they pretty much fixed all the tech issues for ME2, which ended up being a better game IMO than the first in every area but story.

Did you finish the story in Fable 2 yet? I think that soured me on the game and the series more than anything. $20 off is a good deal though -- I took advantage of that with Castlevania:Lords of Shadow.

Geez, I keep doing that

No I haven't, I'm guessing from your tone it's going to suck, but I'll see for myself soon enough. I'm on the Hero of Skill mission which is the last of the 3 Heroes.

The end of the story in Fable 2 really isn't bad. It's a million times better than the first game's. I want to preorder Fable 3, but I think I'd rather buy RB3.

Never played the first game. But Fable 2 had the worst "ending" boss and "choice" I can remember in recent years.
Why aren't you getting Reach on launch, Benny?
I've barely touched ODST and to be honest every Halo game I've bought since the first one has been disappointing.

I may get it at some point in the future but not day 1.

I thought the ending of Fable 2 was fine. Nothing great, but a decent ending. But I wasn't expecting much as the story wasn't' anything great to begin with.
