You're saving for 2 Gunmetal MGS4 bundles? what for?
To keep? Sell one eventually down the road? One or the other.

DXC = ROCKS

DXC does rock, though I'm not certain I'm ever going to play it again. It and Loco Roco could bring in about $40 combined by selling 'em and I'm back and forth on whether I want to do that or not.

Hmm pickups for this month??

Its this month+ end of last month.

Hrm... I'm having second thoughts about getting these speakers for my computer... I donno what to do

Alzo, how good is Legend of Mana?

I may re-buy off of PSN down the road.
To keep? Sell one eventually down the road? One or the other.

DXC = ROCKS
It's good, but I badly need to downsize my collection and I completely stopped playing it, so it may have to go.

I rather keep Ultimate Ghost'n Goblins.

I wish my backlog was down to at least 50.

Other than an order at Squeenix's online store (for this and this), I don't think I've bought anything game-related this month... spent way too much last month @_@

(ETA: Correction- bought Sly 3, Klonoa 2, and Tales of the Abyss earlier this month.)

Started The World Ends With You today. What a crazy game, but I'm digging it. There's a song in there that's not on the OST though; must hunt it down.

A backlog of fifty is nothing! I got a triple digit backlog ;( Although it doesn't bother me at all...

DXC :)

Speaking of Castlevania.

OoE/UK is hot.

I have learned to live with the Backlog.

I will get to it before I die.

MM what was the last game that you actually beat?

OoE/UK is hot.
My backlog is around 180 or so right now. I understand I'll always have a decent backlog, because there are certain series I want to keep most all games to (like Final Fantasy, Suikoden, Wild Arms, Grandia, Xenosaga/Xenogears, Tales, Tekken, etc. unless I BADLY hate a game), but I'm trying to chip away the less important series to me or games I honestly don't care as much about.
I have learned to live with the Backlog.

I will get to it before I die.

MM what was the last game that you actually beat?
Yeah, I'll always have one, but if I can get it to double digits, I'm awesome. :D

EDIT: As for backlogs, I'll explain.

Most platforms I'm okay, but feel a few are too big:
GBA was too big for a while, but starting to become more manageable. I had 50+ games for it at one point. Very important to get down since the last time I played any GBA game was.....several months ago.

PS1 is still a little too large, so I'm working on shaving it down a little more. I sometimes play a PS1 game, but never really work on PS1 games anymore. Had 60+ games at one point.

PS2 is WAY too large. If PS2 was still my main console I played, I'd be okay, but I play PS2 maybe once a month. That's why I really want to get it down badly, and will even just trade games in at GS for less to shave it down (I sometimes get sick of people trying to get me to swap PS2 games, when I freaking don't want more, I want less). Had 200+ games at one point (although I did play my PS2 for 1500+ days in a row at one point).

PSP is a tad too large, but mostly manageable. Just going to shave off a few games (I need to shave off 2-3 RPGs, at least 1-2 action games, and a puzzle game).

I'm okay with next gen. I may have some unbeaten next gen games, but it isn't a huge issue since I play my PS3 daily, my 360 at least 3-4 times a week, and my Wii at least twice a week (unless I get a big game I like). My DS only has 4 games, with a backlog of 1 (well, most games I did as much as I'm going to do, but Yoshi's Island DS is pretty far behind).

Man, I'm not digging the control scheme in MGS2. It's more or less the same as 1, only with added stuff, which does cool things, but makes it feel like I need to claw the controller to do anything. :p

That, and stealth and I just don't get along. I'm not really sure how I beat the first Splinter Cell on Xbox.

My backlog is like 3 games, and I'm pretty close to beating all of them (except Lost Odyssey).

I would probably have a bigger one but I'm a poor college student!

I've learned to niot live with backlog. I've decided if I never get around to playing something and don't feel like investing time, I sell it or trade. The money then goes usually to something I actually will play and beat or enjoy more... plus not having the game actually is more releaving than owning in.

oh and my backlog as of now is only about 3-4 games and I am fine with that :)

I like the "post your pick ups" merger. I'll post my new set up. Well, it isn't really my set up, it's my stuff but at my folks' place, but lets just say I'm pretty psyched about living here for 3 months. Nice book shelves and pimp TV stands are a luxury I don't get at my apartment.
Let's see... well, at the 9 hour mark, I think Persona 2's really good, and it's looking to get better, too... particularly in the story department. There's clearly a lotta shit going on in the background that's going to lead to some "oh fuck" moments later on.

The battle system is pretty cool, though a bit confusing at first, since I didn't know how to give people commands and basically was just rushing with my broke-ass physical attacks. It's kinda cool that you can just set the moves you want and leave it, though, since you were prolly gonna do that anyway, so why keep inputting the commands? The fusion attacks are also pretty cool once you know how it works. The menus are a bit cumbersome which is the only reason the battle system doesn't make immediate sense. And yeah, the contact system is really cool.

The voices are terrible... I'm just glad that there's not too many of them. The soundtrack, on the other hand, is unbelievably good. Like, one of the best I've ever heard.

So yeah, so far, the game is legit, and it's probably gonna get even better. It's basically got that old-school RPG charm, but with all the cool things that Nocturne had.
Good to hear the story gets better. It's pretty solid so far (first hour), little random, but I like the mystery aspect.

Agreed about the confusing menus. now I know why I died immediately in the first fight when I tried playing it a couple years ago. Dare I say the battle system is a tiny bit like FFXII? It at least has the same philosophy behind it.

Last game I beat hm... I don't remember, here are the most recent games I've beat:

GTA IV
Obscure: The Aftermath
Persona 3: FES
Jake Hunter: Detective Chronicles
Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
No More Heroes
Dragon Quest Swords
Apollo Justice

Nothing that recent aside from GTA IV, Apollo, and Obscure... I honestly find myself spending more time playing fighting games above everything else. Especially at work.

Bah, my PS2 froze while playing Persona 3: FES. I was on my way to the 11oth floor too... Hopefuly I saved before heading in that night.
I sold my copy to GS and got around $8.80. ;) I don't care since although I liked it, I didn't think I was going to play anymore. I may re-buy off of PSN down the road.
You talking about LocoRoco or DXC (I'm assuming LocoRoco)?

If your looking to get rid of DXC , don't trade it to GS , trade it to me.:D I traded off my copy I got from amazon a few months ago for $20 , in a trade cause I screwed up part of the deal and used my copy of DXC to make ammends.
A backlog of fifty is nothing! I got a triple digit backlog ;( Although it doesn't bother me at all...
Same. I'm as much of a collector as a gamer. I'm happy simply having the games , and whatever games I can actually manage to beat in the time I have is good enough for me.

Examples , I already have about 12 PSP games (just got the system about a month ago) and haven't played a single one of them. Have about 60 DS games and have only beaten maybe 5-10. At least I beat Phoenix Wright.:)

Speaking of Castlevania.

Just got Aria of Sorrow from Goozex a couple weeks ago. Now I can play that , then finally work on Dawn of Sorrow which I've had since it came out since I kept putting it off cause I wanted to play Aria first.

Goozex is starting to piss me off a bit. I've got three open trade request slots and the last 6 games I've been matched up with have all timed out.:bomb:

I think I've hit the 5 or 6 hour mark for my playtime today... so considering that it's the second day in a row I've done that and that I really don't play a game that hardcore like... ever... yah, I'd say P2 is good and gets better. I think it might be more difficult than Nocturne, too.

Edit: I also think I'd like to see a bunch of separate dungeons in Persona 4 as opposed to a Tartarus style laybyrinth... I dunno... I just like variety in the environments.

The price I had up for my copy of DXC was less than $20. If you were the one who bought it (since you may get other stuff, you'd get it even less than the price I was thinking). ;) I could easily increase your backlog with the games I saw you wanted (which I have, like PQ2, Ridge Racer (if I decide to just stick to the 2nd one, since I have both on PSP), etc.). I noticed you did not have VF3: TB on your Dreamcast list anymore, so I assume someone traded it to you (I was wondering since I still have mine and would give it to anyone for $1 if they are buying stuff from me).

I never tried Goozex or really looked at it. I'm considering looking into it.

note, if anyone has PSP stuff, like I've said before I'm a PSP whore. out of all my systems that's the one I put the most hours into and have the most games on. I oddly prefer the graphics over most PS3/360/PC titles... then again I love N64 graphics and super pixelated PS1 stuff... it has a weird appeal to it.

Tartarus is kinda lame. on that note, as much as I love Persona 3, there are some things they need to fix in 4. They need more music, dungeons not like Tartarus, no chick who does Fuuka's voice. Especially the music...I'm 20 hours in and ready to blow my brains out every time I hear "I never felt like...duh duh nuh nuh nuh!!!" The only track I'm not sick of is the school theme since it's mostly instrumental.

Yeah, the music department in 3 was a disappointment. There were some great songs, but compared to the DDS games or Persona 2 (in particular?) Nowhere close. And there did need to be more songs. It didn't drive me crazy, but it was kinda ghetto.

Of course, I still fuckin' loved the game, but I think I love Persona 2 more... maybe.

I'm the same way- I used to be a huge PS1 collector for that reason.. there's something incredibly appealing about games like Jumping Flash, the original Twisted Metal, and all those early, early PS1 games. The way they were still figuring out controls and 3D graphics, I guess.

The smeary textures of N64 suck though. Seeing PS1 games at ultra high resolutions without any added texture filtering is sex, though. If I ever was lucky enough to be in a position to make a game, it would be ultra low-fi with the textures and geometry, but have huge environments populated with so many characters and interactive elements..

So I fully intented to start something on that list I provided this weekend, but all I did was play Team Fortress 2 and played through half of Ninja Gaiden Black again..haha

Although I am looking for PSP games , they aren't a major priority for me right now.

Yeah I just got VF3 in from Goozex like last week I think. I actually was going to ask to buy it off you , but then I got paired up for it there. I might know a few people interested in it though so I'll send them your way if you want to get rid of it.:)

I never tried Goozex or really looked at it. I'm considering looking into it.

Goozex is good as long as you don't mind it being very hands free. Aside from making sure you send out games and make sure you have points and credits in your account everything else is automated.

It works out very well for me since I have so many games I'm looking for but I'm not eager or in a rush to play them right away , so I request them , and whenever I get matched up they get mailed to me.

Jumping Flash and King's Field FTW!

I also agree that there is something appealing about the graphics in PS1 and N64 games.

Honestly, I think it's that the games just feel gritter when they don't have all those fancy rounded edges. Like in MGS, for example, having the dark, low-res textures makes everything in the environment look kinda dirty, without resorting to the Gears-of-War-style brownness. It's kewl.

agreed that the texture smearing on N64 was kinda odd and nasty... that's why I'm glad the DS's 3D graphics don't look like that and are super pixelated :)

Who the hell is buying KOTOR2, for a non-negligible amount of money, in 2008?

I liked it when it came out, but that was quite a while ago. You should at the very least listen to the opening and ending songs.

After 170 hours I still find myself singing that song. The dorm theme, on the other hand, :twoguns: :bomb:

Rolento, have you played/own the Syphon Filter games? I don't have the original, but I'm playing Logans Shadow and I LOVE it. The control scheme seems insane at first, but makes complete sense later on and works really well.

Maaaaan, Logan's Shadow played like a sack of balls.

I only played one and two. I remember the first one primarily for it being one of the first shooters (for me anyways) that had alot of blood when you shot the fuck out of people. (especially when you picked off rooftop snipers).

Also take into account I must've been like 10 when it came out.

I picked up Dark Mirror for $10 @ TRU, but haven't had a chance to play it yet. Argh, GTAIV just totally pwns me.

I want to try and DL the Hot Shots PSP demo and try out the DBZ:BL demo tonight as well.

We. Shall. See.

Ugh... this hot weather is making me extremely susceptible to sleep. I'm staying up just in case the stupid MGS4 LE bundle goes up for sale at 12 midnight PST...

2 more hours to go.

i like legend of mana but it takes a while to really immerse yourself in the world a la saga frontier. it plays nothing like the old mana games.

but man. the Jumi story was so good.
the weapons forging is complicated though. i just used an FAQ in endgame. -_-;

man i wanted to watch GTO live action again
but i accidentally got the one with french subs instead of english...

I've only played the demos. It takes a while to get use to the controls... I don't know if I like it or not.

well, I'm up till I get this damn flyer for an art show I'm in done... my piece in the show is a performance peice where I'm going to be reading stories to crowds of people. Kinda scary seeing as I slightly freak out in front of everyone looking at you >_

THE TRANSPONDER LOCATER?!?

My latest other podcast was just recorded.

If you want to hear about my idea for my Mariachi Hero Game, you should listen.

the flyer for the show isn't finished since the people heading up the show haven't given me all the info, but it's this saturday. I still feel weird reading stories to a crowd of adults.. and yes, cookies and milk will be served as they sit on the floor.
