Wonder if I'll have time to play anything tonight? I'd like to get more ACBrohos in, but may continue with ME2 or Mafia II.

Yeah, the SMT games are excellent. Persona 4 kicks the shit out of the P3 Portable, f'sho. The Digital Devil Saga games are great, too. Nocturne is like... the pinnacle of RPGs.

As far as more standard stuff goes, I do love me some FFX and FFXII. And yeah, DraQue 8 was excellent. Only game in the series that's held my attention. RPGs on the PS3 are garbage, so the PS2 should be a revelation for you.

Jak and the Ratchet games are overrated garbage. They're polished, but not exciting in the least. The only platformer that immediately comes to mind for me is Klonoa 2.

Fighters... there is so much. As far as domestic stuff goes, King of Fighters XI is amazing (way better than XII ever was), and Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus is mint as shit. F'sho f'sho!

Action Adventure... well, DMC3 is the best in the series by a mile, the Onimusha games are still awesome (with the exception of Dawn of Dreams, which is decidedly unawesome), the MGS games are practically mandatory. Zone of the Enders 2 is rad as fuck, but kinda pricey, I think.

So yeah, there's a lot of shit that could be genuinely considered must-have material. I miss last gen :(
 
I totally forgot about DMC, yeah I'd definitely have get those. MGS would go on the backburner because I still haven't finished Twin Snakes. My brother has all the Ratchet games and Jak has never really grabbed me. So yeah, maybe when I get my next e-rewards GC I'll go on the lookout for a decent looking PS2 at gamestop. DQ is a bit too old-school for me and Nocturne too balls-hard but DDS has always interested me.
 
Other great PS2 games that nobody mentioned yet: Ico, SOTC, God Hand, Katamari games, and The Red Star. And Chac mentioned it, but I want to chime in and say Klonoa 2 is the best platformer on the PS2 IMO, and definitely worth checking out.

Maximo was a pretty good PS2 game. Not sure how the sequels were.
I'm trying to remember what other games were good besides those which were already mentioned.

Truth be told, PC would be the only way to get that game up to the proper 60FPS lock with no tearing or slow down. ^_^
 
Man, I'm thinkink I'm going to have to head back to Tennessee to crack some skulls. The fuckers that were renting our house out broke our new stove, blew up our hot water heater (literally), and broker our heating and air. The house is in shambles. Motherfucker.

the dpad on the psp suuuuuuuuuucks. I have alpha 3 and I felt it wasn't so hot with that dpad.

Rolento will tell you that it is fun, but it's really not. In fact, I'd consider the system utterly defective as far as its ability to provide fun fighters is concerned.

I never said it was unplayable trash, but it's lacking a lot of the charm of Persona 3 on PS2, and Persona 3 is basically a prototype for the utterly superior Persona 4. The characters in Persona 3 are arguably better, depending on your tastes, but I feel like Persona 4 is the overall superior game.

I can't see playing a fighter on a portable being enjoyable. Most of the enjoyment from fighters I get from playing others I know. I don't think i'd get that with a portable.
