They made a good point on the 1up show about how Yakuza is really the more modern evolution of the JRPG. Most JRPGs are so childish and cliche, it's really refreshing to see one with more mature themes, that does have some genre conventions (people to talk to, sidequests, random battles) but none of them feel forced. Yakuza is a groundbreaking game for that reason. Explains why it's so popular in japan.

Not that I'm aware of. Just depends on the customer service rep/manager you deal with. Though I'm sure the higher the price the more likely you are to encounter resistance.
I had no problem swapping out Two Worlds (from the Fry's come 360 bundle deal) for Halo 3 at Wal-mart last year. Fraudulent? Yes. Great deal for me? Yep. Extra joy from sticking it to Wal-mart (where I never shop anymore)? Abso-

Wow.. I've only beaten Magma Man and Splash Woman. That game is hard as balls. But in a really fun way.

I want LBP, but I rather not play the beta in ways. I don't want to play it until the actual game is out. That's how I kind of feel about most games (I don't want to play during a beta when online is a mess and everything I do normally doesn't count towards anything). I use to try to get into betas, but now it doesn't mean that much.

Getting practice in using the editor and potentially winning level design contests ruins the game how?
Same thing with anything competitive online -- I'm willing to bet the people who were in the CoD4 MP beta had an edge on all the day 1 players. Same with anything where the most they'll end up doing between now and release is tweaking some of the code/server settings.
Besides, if the game releases Oct. 21, It's probably already gone gold or will in the next week, thus changes to the shipped code and what you play should be minimal.

By request, the beta's basically a gigantic tutorial that tells you the ins and outs. There's 3 levels to play on, online play, creation mode, customizations, etc. Basically it gives you a little taste of everything that will be available in the full game. There's already some user created levels up to play on but, unsurprisingly, they're all crap thus far. Hope they gave it some more polish though because there was a lot of clipping and getting stuck in or under objects in just the first level. It was fun to play ... for the first level. I already lost interest and will probably pass on it until it's cheaper. If it had a lot more polish, I'd probably of been more into it but getting stuck in or under objects several times a level was pretty annoying.

I've been playing more Disgaea 3. I got the chapter 6 yesterday afternoon but haven't even started it. I reincarnated a few characters as well as created some new ones, so I have been spending a good deal of time power grinding with them so they catch up with my other characters. Right now I'm TRYING to pass the bill to make a bigger classroom. I have no idea why they made it this hard....
