GGT 92: Nintendo doesn't care about you!

Finished Braid. Well made game, but not really my cup of tea. Many of the puzzles were obtuse and I'd wouldn't have figured them out without looking up the solution online. Great art design and music. Story could have been less abstract as well. I'd probably give it an 8.0/10.
I was talking about MS7 getting new stuff. I don't care about how badly they fucked up Metal Slug 3, but to get the facts straight, the original arcade version of MS3 had mad slowdown from time to time, too.

and I just don't like the crappy screen on the DS, and would much rather play with an arcade stick or something, though that second thing is subjective.
From how the announcement sounded, it seemed like it's just going to be a straight port. And while yes, MS3 is prone to slowdown, I don't remember anything from the arcade being as bad as the 360's.

Major Nelson (Larry Hryb): Today we’re announcing Metal Slug 7 for Xbox Live Arcade, featuring new missions, new weapons, colossal new bosses, new game modes, and new Slugs to pilot. 8:27
Major Nelson (Larry Hryb):Another SNK PLAYMORE title, The King of Fighters ’98 Ultimate Match, is also coming to Xbox Live Arcade with new characters and game modes. Battle your favorite King of Fighters characters to determine the ultimate champion. The Kingdom of Fighters Ultimate Match will launch in Spring 2009.

I'm pretty sure that new stuff is supposed to be stuff that wasn't in the original version.

Again, Suda 51 gives me a reason to like my Wii some more... god I love that game... so good... so good... so good... fuck it... i want to play it again now >_<

if you play T6 on 360, get an arcade stick or a better d-pad. without one you can't have a full valid opinion on the game.
I'm pretty sure that new stuff is supposed to be stuff that wasn't in the original version.
Guess we'll just have to sit it out and see what happens with both versions.

ZOMG 99 Nights 2!!

That game was so unbelievably shitty. I can't even believe they finished making it - surely they realized long before finishing the game that it was more or less fecal material.
I'm hoping NMH2 is multi-platform.

NMH in HD.
That's what I'd want more than anything. NMH was just so ugly at times. I really, really liked the game, but it wouldn't hurt if it was pretty this time.

No More Heroes was an awesome graphic novel packaged in a terrible Wii game. I hope the sequel can correct some of the issues I had with the game--maybe Grasshopper should just ditch the whole fake open world/GTA BS and the pointless minigames altogether and concentrate on improving the overall "level" designs and game structure. I also hope they are able to use the Wiimotion add-on.

I liked the shittyness of NMH graphics, but I do see how it can improve.

it can come out on any system. I'll get it. no questions asked. same thing applies to all Suda games.

if you don't like the combat in the original NMH, you need a reality check in the awesomeobile.

agreed. The open world/minigame stuff killed it completely for me. The framerate was particularly bad for a lo-fi wii game.

People that complain/ed about the open world portion of NMH makes me scratch my head.

It wasn't great, but it didn't take away from the game. It was just there.

obtuse is (a) great (word). braid was not (for me).

Just got to Chapter 5 of the Witcher, so I've just got that and the Epilogue to play through, and then I'm done. It's cool how it's becoming more and more apparent how the choices I made have changed what's goin' on. Like, you start to be like "oh shit, did I make the right choice here?" It's pretty kewl.

It did take away from the game 'cause you had to drive around in it. A menu or some smaller area to get sidequests in would've done the trick.
hard to see and choppy with badly timed audio but:

I suppose, and I agree that a menu could have done it too. I just don't think that is was that big of a deal.
I like the style a lot.
I like it that it takes the sex of DMC and puts it entirely in focus in combination with the gameplay. I'm being honest saying I think it's something that realy helps the testosterone based gameplay.

Announcement of the Day: No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle

There is...no denying it.

EDIT: It has just occurred to me the INITIALS of the subtitle. Oh noes...

I'm happy she doesn't have a high pitched japanese chick voice and sounds pretty evil/sadistic. The action looks suitably insane and fast paced. They didn't try to make it appeal to everyone, which is nice...I really don't care if the game draws in people who don't like DMC/NG--I want it over the top and beyond questionable taste. overall, I'm just glad to get a new non-NG or DMC hardcore action game after the sequels for those games let me down.

Yeah at first the music and stylishness sorta threw me off, but at the end when that dudes like "I'm at your doorstep bayonetta!" or something I was like "Thats pretty jazzy"

well I'm goin to sleep. I'm tired as hell and it's been kinda a long day. But I did invest a good 5 hours into The Witcher, so I'd say that's a success.

Okay, so my LBP key flopped. Whatev. I also signed into PSN for the first time in a while, thanks for the add daroga :)

I played the demo for bionic commando. Holy shit that's a cool game. I like how they make fun of you for playing the demo, good stuff. I'll be purchasing this real soon.

And does anyone know of any free IM clients for windows mobile that plays off of unlimited texting as opposed to needing to be online?

See RR's comment below:
the city felt dead, if I wasn't killing thing's I wasn't as happy. good thing i love the game so much I don't care if I'm happy or not.
Basically, there was no "open world". Just a lame, time-consuming way to do a UI for the next mission/minigame. A true open-world would've been pretty awesome, killing random by-standers with the beam katana would've been cool.

But none of my complaints would prevent me from giving the sequel a chance. As Rei said, I gotta play it to make a real judgment on it.

Same for Bayonetta. Both those games look awesome, but if they aren't fun for me, then I'll skip 'em.

btw, wb zew.

The beta ends in like...3 days or something like that. It looks like (if the fans get their wish, and probably will) the beta levels will be there at launch.
