GHOSTBUSTERS [Blu-Ray] - NOW $7.99 AC @ Amazon
my order was FUBAR'd, had to call CSR who promptly fixed it, but still.... fucking shady
It isn't really shady. The coupons were obviously not supposed to stack in the first place.
It isn't really shady. The coupons were obviously not supposed to stack in the first place.
wrong.

if they send me a confirmation email for my order that reflects both coupons, then decide to charge me the $5 more WITHOUT notifying me, then yes... it's fucking shady.
wrong.

I agree. I wouldn't have minded so much if I'd gotten some kind of notification of the change, but just dropping the coupon and raising the price without any notice? Not cool at all. I'm willing to disregard it since they fixed it back to the price that I'd ordered at without a hassle, but I'm still not happy about them doing it.

My order is in the shipping stage and it's not showing any changes in the discount amounts.

My guess is that other orders should also be in the shipping stages.

Yup, shipping soon for me at $9.99.

But that's the thing, dude. Nobody would notify you because it was probably an automatic-correction of the mistake. Is it sucky? Totally. Is it a deliberate, underhanded business practice? I don't think I'd go that far.

Probably not deliberate, no, but if their system is set up to auto-correct mistakes, it should also be set up to auto-notify customers when those corrections are made. There's no good excuse for doing one without the other. Deliberate or not, at best, failing to notify the customer of a change that increases the invoiced price of an order after it has already been placed and confirmed is unethical; at worst, it's illegal.

My order has shipped with an estimated delivery of June 16. Tomorrow is going to be Ghostbusters overload with the movie on Blu Ray and the game. I am pumped.

I should have gone with standard shipping...mine will ship tomorrow and arrive Thursday...ah well won't get to watch it till the weekend anyways.

Odd, my movie hasn't shipped yet and its not scheduled to be shipped until the 22nd of June!! I don't know why this is the case!! Also my order still has both discounts applied to the order.

My order says the same thing as well.

Mine says that too -- but it also says they're "preparing the items for shipment" . . . Come on, Amazon, which one is it?

For what it's worth, I've had them list shipping dates a week or two in the future and then ship pretty much right away anyway more than a few times in the past. So it could go out at any time between now and then.

I probably won't have time to watch the movie before then anyway . . . I'm more irritated about having to wait that long for the CD that I ordered with it!

Got mine delivered half an hour ago, probably watch it today. Didn't have any problems with the price changing on me. Thanks again OP!

My order was one of those that was showing a June 22nd ship date, but I just got a notification that it has been shipped via "A1 International" with an estimated delivery date of the 18th. I don't think I've ever even heard of A1 International before. :whistle2:k

Amazingly, got home and it was already here -- the same day that Amazon lists it as having shipped(!!). I still don't know who A1 International is, but I'm impressed.

I received and email today saying that it has finally shipped!! :applause:

got mine... I have to say... I hate how these companies try to change the cover art to fit the "blu-ray" theme.... just give me the black ghostbusters poster... I don't need the blu-slime background.

Same thing here... I get Spaceballs in the same shipment on Blu.... it's got all this purple and blu colored in now on the cover..... ughhhhhh... wtf?

yeah i think amazon messed up. cuz i got the ghostbusters blu ray and
The Friday The 13th (Extended, Killer-Cut & Theatrical Cut) (Amazon Digital Bundle + Download) Blu-ray all for $25... and that Friday the 13th blu alone is $24.99

I got my $9.99 copy today. I have to say that this was the WORST shipping I have ever got from Amazon. My stuff has always been sent in a cardboard mailer of some-sorts but this was in a plain bubble mailer and the box art (slip-cover/case) looks like it has been through a war. I guess I cant really complain since it was only $9.99 but I am disappointed with the shipping (especially since I paid for Prime).

Make them exchange it. They play favorites with Prime members (at least I've always gotten preferential treatment). There should be no reason they won't take care of you. Especially due to the condition of your item.

Yeah, they shipped both my Ghostbusters and Lost blurays in padded envelopes (and for some reason I can't give feedback on the Lost order, probably because it was placed so long ago the system doesn't understand I should give feedback) and everything got a bit messed up... not sure why they suddenly went cheap.

Ghostbusters came today.
The image quality seems to vary greatly depending on the scene. Sometimes it is grainy, and sometimes it is fantastic.

Film grain isn't a bad thing.
Film grain isn't a bad thing.
Overboosted EE to clean up film grain, that's a bad thing.

I know a movie like Ghostbusters isn't going to be a top-notch, reference-quality title, though it still sounds like a worthwhile upgrade from the DVD version.

Though, there's plenty of old movies that look amazing on BR, such as 2001.

I think I've about had it with movies from Amazon. The last dvd order I made was a TV box set. It took 3 tries to get a set that the cases were not busted, discs scratched, etc. The 3rd one I had to take a good disc and a good case (or the least damaged) from the 2nd set to make a good set.

I know it's more than likely the mail system, but the first shipment was in a box and packed well. That had to have been damaged before shipping.

Still nothing today. WTF. I did get my Simpsons DVD, which I ordered at the same time. Of course, it was shipped in a bubble mailer and the box is partially dented.

I had a couple of seasons I ordered get scratched up in shipment, and I had to go through two additional sets on one of them to get it all resolved. They were very hesitant to send out the third set, and if they said there was an issue with the third set, all they'd do is consider them defective and refund my money.

I order quite a bit through Amazon and for the most part, I don't have any issues. Occasionally I do, and most of the time, it's not an issue to get it resolved. Sorry you had a bad issue with them.

You shouldn't suffer with sub-standard product because it was discounted. It's a shipping issue on their side, and they should fix it, becauase it's an issue.

My Ghostbusters and Dr. Strangelove came in a box, while my copy of Benjamin Button, ordered at the same time, came in a loosely-packed bubble mailer. I think anything for a single movie gets a bubble mailer, and anything more than one movie gets a box.
WHATTT???

I'm happy to say I saw it in the theaters at age 5... yeah. sweet.

GO SEE THAT SHIT NOW!
I remember my dad taking me when I was 5 or so to see it, and I loved every minute of it. First dvd I bought too. Gonna place an order tonight using the code to get the blu. Thank LP (have to thank hobo on hdd too).

And did someone say it was boring? WTF?

The PQ is super grainy early on but becomes normal after a while. The new special features - the refurbishing of the Ecto-1 and making of the game are both in HD and look great. Plus as someone else said, it comes with a free theme for PS3.
Mine arrived yesterday. Watched today but kinda boring.
hahaha oh wow. Good thing you bought 3 copies, eh?
