Girlfriends and Video Games
your 14, your not in love. I am not trying to be mean, but you can't even drive yet so you really haven't met enough people and done enough things to commit love to someone.

On the video game issue, like everyone else here I agree that you shouldn't be trying to change yourself for something, especially at your age. Be yourself and try to enjoy yourself.
I'm 15 and i'm in love. Although, I don't feel the need to prove it over the internet. I just am. No proof.

Also, to a reponse.. forget the post.. forget to quote, lol.. : said something about his girlfriend turing off capcom xbox game, and he thew her out..

my response:

LOL

if i'm reading the OP right, you don't have much time to spend with her because you're playing video games and not hanging out with her. if you want to spend more time with her, cut back a little but don't cut it out of your life all together. get some easy girlie games like viva pinata or some party games like monkeyball that you can play together that don't really require any skill. some people have said if she doesn't like you because you play video games she isn't worth it. there is a definite line between playing video games and having them consume your life/be an obsession. playing them is one thing but if you dont have time to have real life friends and do other constructive things in your life, then maybe cutting back a little isn't such a bad idea. don't get me wrong, i'm not saying to give them up entirely. i'm just advocating for balance in your life. simple test, does your room look like this?

if not, then you're probably ok.

Anyone who wants to be IN LOVE, just take 2 grams of phenylethylamine. Then take about 500mg-1g every 45minutes to an hour. You'll be in "love" the whole fucking day.

I did. or rather I met one that seemingly killed my interest in VGing dead.

just do what you feel is right for you. If you can't find yourself able to equally devote time to both, then pick the one that makes you happier.

Yes, your server's children is being held hostage by vikings (again) and in order for them to not be decapitated they have demanded gold bars. So please, tip in gold bars so we don't get anymore blood of infants, thank you.

searched google images "gamers room". first result

HAHA! Totally went off topic there. But yeah, me and her have a band on rock band
found out she plays it alot and is better than me.
she just wanted to spend more time with me and i thought that meant that i had
to put the games away. guess i was wrong(then again, I'm wrong alot). i think its
great cause she actually can play me in guitar hero and win where as my friends
get their asses kicked by me. and she kills me in halo 3 alot too. frustrating but fun.
didn't know she was a gamer though o.o;
Trust me from experience my good friend stick with the video games because the girlfriend will only drain your money more rapidly then the games. I have had the same girlfriend for 8 looooong years and everytime I think about buying gaming stuff I have to pause and think of how much I will need to spend towards helping her because she is in a serious amount of debt and I have no debt whatsoever. The main reason I dated her was because we both were into gaming but now I wish I could have gotten out a long time ago. Her debt is the main factor in me not marrying her since I know once that happens I will have to assume her debt.

Don't get me wrong I love her with all of me but her finances are starting to take a toll on my mental being. I just want to not get a call or text message every other week telling me that I need to help her with paying something. Matter of fact just in the last 2 weeks I had to help pay off her 3 months in back payments for her car which the company she is leasing through have sent out someone to try to repo her car several times because of non payment.

Sorry, I didn't mean to get that personal but I needed to let off a little steam because it helps me deal with what I'm going through. Sometimes I just don't want to be bothered but that comes with loving someone no matter what they do.
Dude... get the fuck out of your relationship now... or make her go see a debt consultant.

You say in this post "you wish you had gotten out long ago"... so get out now.

I'm in your same position, but my girl doesn't have any debt other than a huge college loan but I have already let her know I will not be assuming any of that shit, pre-nup it is... not for what I have, but what I don't want.

And to the 14-year-old... dude, don't even start dating until college, and even then, don't get serious... it's such a waste of your young life... I wish I could go back now knowing what I know now...

seriously, don't get serious and never get too emotionally into girls... if they dump you or won't date you, move on to the next party, friend, or girl you are into... you can't change other people's feelings.

Girls don't game. You should make sure she's really a she.

Dating is overrated. You should enjoy your life doing whatever makes you feel happy. Plus dating makes some huge fuckups in your life. Take for example one of my friends met some bitch on myspace. She was a FF7 fan so he thought "tits. She's gon be cool" She isn't ugly, but GOD DAMN was that bitch fanatical. She actually punched him in the stomach because he insulted Sephiroth. Does that sound like fun to you? I gots another one. You go on some online dating thing and see a pic of a young girl. My friend goes out with her and that bitch is 35. You put your hand on your head and go "Oh fuck. This is gonna be a long ass date"

Oh and this one is my favorite. My friend meets a old highschol friend. The conversation is good and time flows quickly. She smiles and it ooks like she's tossing gang signs at you.

But buck up son. At least you aren't THIS GUY

didn't we all go through this phase where we gave up videogames for a few years to try and be cool and eventually decided fuck being cool? just let this kid quit videogames, it's like the circle of life, man. you know what I'm talking about... Lion King for the genesis anyone?

It's amazing how this little fourteen year old throws out love like nothing and I can't get my boyfriend of five months to say it once. *sigh* I don't know what's worse being fourteen and attaching love to everything or being twenty-four and having love mean something but having to work to get someone to say it.

You know women are fundamentally retarded for the most part when it comes to buying stuff. They go with FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELINGS and don't go for quality, but go for whatever everyone else is wearing. And that sister is probably on Maury saying she has a shopping disease.

No. I gave up gaming to smoke a lot of pot and vandalize random stuff with my delinquent friends. Then because my dad felt guilty about my parents divorce and my mom abandoning my sister and I, he bought me a PS2 when I was 15 for Christmas and I played MGS II for like 3 days straight, and I was sucked back into the Nerd-world.....9 years later and still going

as for trying to be cool.....I smoked a lot pot and broke people's stuff.....fuck that I was cool.
didn't we all go through this phase where we gave up videogames for a few years to try and be cool and eventually decided fuck being cool?
No. I turn 30 this year and I've played games consistently since I was 5 or 6. My interest in gaming and amount of time I put in to it has ebbed and flowed (way down currently) but I've always had at least one console and seldom gone more than a month without playing something.

I mean I don't know about your boyfriend but after all the crazy bitches that I've dealt with, I'm never saying "I love you" first again, and even then, if I don't actually love the bitch... I ain't sayin shitttt.

Why don't you...do both?

Like, I mean, a guy can watch football games every week and still have a girlfriend. So why can't you do both?

Yow!

I'm not saying this is you, or your boyfriend. But guys who act like that most likely don't give a shit about you and are often basically just pumping with an eventual dumping depending on how good the pumping is. The opposite side of the spectrum is telling you exactly what YOU want to hear. Basically whatever is the path of least resistance.

Dude, leave. I had a girlfriend for 8 years and I understand the thought that maybe you're "stuck". Guess what, you aren't and if you are looking back at those 8 years as loooooong then what are you going to say in another 8? Not to be judgmental about the her but if she's putting you in the situation where you need to pay for her "stuff" then she's not treating you with the respect that you deserve. It sounds like she's completely in control of the situation which is ridiculous because you're in a relationship and things should be more a joint effort and also IT"S YOUR MONEY. Time for you to take charge of the situation or the toll on your mental being will continue to get worse.

I maybe one of the luckiest guys here. My girlfriend actually supports my gaming habits. Maybe she thinks it distracts me from other women or makes me less appealing to others. Whatever the case is, the only time she bugs me during a game session is for sex and I have no complaints with that. Well, one time I did... but alas, my year anniversary is coming up this month.
This is beginning to sound like it belongs in the bragging rights forum, but what good is this thread w/o pictures?

BEWARE ITS A TRAP! You're right. Some women do do that to make you less attractive to other women. Another trap is the COOKING WOMAN where she cooks you the most unbelievably delicious meals. She fattens you up and when you realize it, it's too late, and you've gained weight and nobody will take you.

I KID I KID

Or maybe I'm not

ProTip: Move on.

Can I ask something of all you gamers? Why is it that you spend so much time playing games? I mean, sure, they're fun, but wouldn't you rather be out with friends, or doing something constructive? I mean, I love video games, but only squeeze in about an hour a day. And if it comes down to it, I won't play video games at all if I have a chance to hang out with some friends. I didn't think it was really that hard to cut down video games.

Oh, and OP, if your girlfriend doesn't want you playing games, dump that bitch. A girl should like you for what you are, not what you could be. And if it takes you 10 years to find a girlfriend like this, then when you do find one, you know it'll be the perfect one. And please, don't use the word 'love' when you're only 14. I'm 17 and have no intentions on using it anytime soon.

Oh, and BTW, chances are, she likes games too. Every teenager likes video games. You just have to find the right one. (My last girlfriend LOVES Mario Party 1. I sucked at it though. :whistle2:()

Not always. Some people just feel that 'love' is a VERY strong word. And it takes a lot to be able to say that to somebody. Some people say it on the first day, some people don't say it till 5 years in. It's just a personal opinion.

It's a hobby, it's a leisurely activity in a way.
Sometimes you really just don't want to hang out with friends. Sometimes you really DO want to be left alone.

Hell, you can hang out with friends and play games for several hours.

We're in the same boat, except my girlfriend plays games as well and doesn't bother me for sexual activities while playing. If I'm playing something when she calls, she'll let me call her back, but most of the time I'll just pause or save+quit. She buys her own games, reads up on her own news here or one of the many gaming sites and even clues me in on some things I don't know. Oh, and our five year anniversary (even though its been off and on) was in April.

The only thing she bothers me about sometimes is being on the internet too much, but when I'm here at work for 8-9 hours a day and most of my time is ''down time''... what the hell else do I do? :bouncy:

Oh, and a picture!
Paco, I believe you may have some issues with women...
I have no issue with women. I have issues with bitches. Which is how most American women are starting to act so they need to be knocked down a peg or two.

Do what I do. Tell her "Let me play my video games and I won't cheat on you." Of course I wouldn't cheat on her anyways but it works.

Plus you are 14. You will "date" for 3-4 weeks then break up over AIM. You will find real love later on in life. Don't worry be happy.
