maybe shipwreck knows. hes got the game already and beat it but i dont know if hes got any of those skins since he didnt mention it on the cagcast.

Not for me! I got to the 3rd part of the ares boss battle and couldnt beat him thanks to the 50% damage power. :bomb: I redid the whole game with ares armor and beat it in 3 hours and 3 minutes.

I got my call from 'Ashley' yesterday from GS to tell me my pre-ordered copy of GOW3 was gonna be in on Tuesday.:roll: I'm still cancelling though, since this game just isn't worth $60 to me.

Wow based on concept art i thought the gamestop skin would look best, but im really digging that apollo and morpheus skins the most. Apollo has some shitty bonus though, looks cool but cant see me using it with those stats. Damn these will be DLC? I wonder if buying the Gamestop skin for 5 bucks off ebay will be worth it.

the gs one is going to be alot of help then definelty glad i got it. gotta agree with you on the apollo armor it does look sweet. im surprised the 711 armor looks good too. damn now i just wish i knew someone with an extra apollo skin code lol.
 
I still have the GS skin(along with an unused code for the demo which is now on PSN:bomb:)code unused, though I think it kinda sucks that it's got an expiration date on it(6/12, I believe).

I'm holding out for a possible B2G1 since there's far too many games I want right now, but don't have anywhere near the cash/credit to get them all at a reasonable price.
 
Haven't you been saying you were going to cancel it because it's not worth $60 to you for a few weeks now? I'm beginning to think you pre-ordered just so you can complain more about the game in here.

I registered Apollo on my fiances account (they are supposidly e-mailing a code, so I will just put it all on my PSN ID....). I bought the UE, so I will have Dominus as well. I meant will you be able to buy them off PSN store if you didnt pre order? Are those up yet? I need to buy the 7-11 skin, the rest i have, and redeemed via 3 different accounts.
 
bah I really want the Morpheus and Phantom Armor...dunno how to get them at this point, I ordered Ultimate Edition from Amazon already.
 
I'm betting they'll be released later, like most DLC. I really can't think of many pre-order "exclusives" that stay exclusive. Off the top of my head Infamous, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and Assassin's Creed 2 all had "exclusive" pre-order stuff, and all of them ended up on PSN sometime.

It does somewhat irk me though, as the nearest 7-11 is ~30 miles from me, and I'd like to have all the skins. I also got my confirmation from Amazon that my order shipped, so it should be here Wednesday, which should hopefully give me time to beat/come close to beating FFXIII. I pre-ordered it from GS initially with credit, but I guess I'll cancel though. I may go to the midnight launch for the fun of it. They're giving away some pretty nice Kratos mask. They let me feel it, and the material isn't bad at all, so I may as well check it out.

my guess is they may treat them the way they did the dlc for imfamous( where itll be a free dl so many months down the road). i dont remember how long it was before they gave it out for free but it was a while. either that or maybe you could buy it sooner as dlc.

Go into Gamestop and say you didn't get the Phantom Armor code when you pre-ordered. That's how I did it.:D

I picked up one of the Gamestop Kratos posters last week from a local GS store when the one clerk showed me them. They were only supposed to be for those people who bought the game, but it was a nice little gesture that they gave me one.

Thing is, I have NO desire to hang it up or anything, so I may be looking to sell/trade it soon. Only problem is it's going to be a bitch to mail, since I would need whoever wants it to pay for a poster tube and the shipping costs for it.

That's what always happens with the pre-order bonuses though, someone either ends up deprived or the employees take them home to sell on Ebay.
 
I do wonder when we're going to be e-mailed those codes. I have the GS and Amazon ones (each to different e-mail addresses) and haven't seen anything in my inbox. I'm assuming that they'll send them tomorrow since the game will actually be out, but I would've hoped they mail them sooner.

I also got a bit of a chuckle when a GS employee showed me the God of War guide. The very back has an index of all the pre-order skins (and maybe where they come from). I found it funny since it's basically saying 'Look at these 5 skins you missed because you preordered at ' I know they'll all end up being released on PSN, but it's still a rather odd practice to me to deny access to content unless you pre-order 5 copies of the game at 5 different retailers.

seems like gs always gets the better end of the dlc stick. the skin they have for gow3 is pretty cool as far as attributes go.
 
Just played for an hour. What an opening.

The entire fight with Poseidon was awesome and more cinematic than anything in GoW I and II. The graphics are always really impressive. I haven't said 'wow' like this since Uncharted 2. Everything move really fluent too. I can't wait to play more tomorrow.
 
I also played for an hour and yeah, it's pretty epic. I just wish they made the transition from non-playable cinematic to playable quicker. It's annoying to keep tapping away until you're allowed to move.

But the scale of the game is crazy. Also looks really really nice, just the detail and everything to it.

Killing Poseidon and watching Kratos beat the crap out of him in his view was great. Also, cutting apart Medusas.
 
Yes, the opening part is pretty awesome. Speaking of awesome, how about that lighting? It's INSANE.

Haven't bought the game yet, but last week at the GDC Lounge when...
Kratos read the book on that little podium, and it said something to the effect of 'Here lies Ares, the God of War'. It just put us all in awe because we didn't notice he was underneath all that ice/glass during that fight. ;)

Also...
keep an eye out for those Medusa snakes. I swear, their scaly skin looks SO REAL! :shock:
 
I noticed before reading the book. I was like, wait a minute, that's a dude...is that...OH SHIT! ARES!!!

I played about 90 minutes and stopped for now. I earned 5 Trophies in the process.
 
Just picked this up and I'm dying to play it but I have to write a paper.

They gave me an awesome poster of Kratos with it too, anyone else get one?
 
Just passed the first boss and saved. Have to sleep, but epic is such a understatement. Just holy moly!!!!!!!!

Also, has anyone found out for sure if we can or cannot use all the pre-order costume codes on a single account? I want to put them on my account i download stuff on, not my main account, i just want to make sure they'll still work like all other DLC and if we can use all of them at the same time.

I figured that the special skins would be like the ME2 armors and they wouldn't be released as DLC so I just bought the Forgotten Warrior and Apollo skins (already had Phantom and Morpheus) on Ebay for the $15 that I sold my extra ME2 codes for. I have everything now except the Dominus. I really want that one.

So far I've played a little over an hour of the game, it's great. I want to play more but I really, really, really need sleep. I have school stuff tomorrow. I love the blades in this game.
 
Here's something that makes me laugh a little bit. I'd say it's 3 and a half hours through the game.

Anybody else have a problem dl the music from the UE. And before anyone says anything I known you are suppose to dl from a PC from its MP3 format. the problem I'm having is that everytime I go to the www.godofwar.com/music site, the page can't be found or no longer exist. anyone have the same problem?

Page not found, did you download the other two codes? Thats what im most interested in.

also i havent gotten any emails for my pre order skin code yet. Anyone get their skin code yet?
 
Yeah the other two codes that come with the UE is downloadable from the PSN so that's no problem. I haven't received a skin code yet either.

this game just blew my mind I'm 10 min in and my mind is officially blown... that just doesn't sound right.
