Hi elosefast,

Thanks for trading!

Goozex doesn't collect or store credit card information...Bank Of America's Cybersource handles our credit card payments and all information runs through their db...
I'd make sure you're using either Visa or Mastercard, expiration date, and the number once again...

Let me know if it doesn't work and we can take it from there.
Well, I just tried it again and it still doesnt work. I checked and re-checked my number, CVN number, exp date, and card type to make sure I wasnt putting them in wrong, I even tried spacing the four groups of numbers in the box you put the numbers in to no avail. If there is an alternate way of making payment, I'd like to do that seeing as cybersource doesnt seem to be working for me.

WOW major price jumps . im glad the seller backed out and and i was able to cancell my request

advance wars Ds jumped from 250 to 450

i would been totally ##$#$# if i had to pay 450

Super black bass jumped from 300 pts to 600 pts no idea why isnt this a 10 buck game everywhere

I'll look into these point changes...but I remember seeing a huge spike in demand for Advance Wars (DS) which could be the driving force behind that...

I'm having more success with Goozex than SaySwap. I don't like how SaySwap feels "myspace-ish". My one critique of Goozex is that it's frustrating when you have these points that you can't seem to spend. I wish there was a way to "grab" something that is available when you are 1st in line.

That said, Goozex is doing a better job than SaySwap. For the hell of it, I put 63 items on my want list just so that I could "cash out" of SS, I've gone almost 2 days with no hits! Makes no sense. None of the users there seems to know what they're doing since they are trying to directly trade with people.

hi everyone...
if you're wondering what's going on with the site layout its our content provider....looks like they had a hiccup in the their ftp server. Can't say that I'm too happy about it b/c I'm thinking of all the new site visitors that are getting scared away....but it will be fixed shortly (so they say)

Right now we don't have a different method to buy credit/points. Do you have another credit card you can use?

No, I dont have another card I can use. icruise's idea using paypal would be nice.

So the only way to get trade credits is to buy them? When I first started this I had thought that sending a game got me 1 trade point...which would make sense. You really need to add alternate forms of acceptable payment, because I know I'm not the only one who cant use your service because of your strict payment guidelines. Basically I just threw away 8 good games I could've used or sold myself. Honestly, I wish I knew this was the way you did business, I would've never have wasted my time and money.

elose - I got one of your games today (Jade Cocoon 2) and appreciate the condition it was in.

Gooz - would it be possible to manually transfer trade credits? I would be more than happy to purchase credits and have you transfer them to elose, then have him send me the paypal. Just a little bit more work, but nothing to get in a twist about.

I am enjoying the site and games Im getting, but am getting frustrated I never have any points. I first added ps2 rpgs, then added 360 games, then added gamecube stuff and am not getting any matches even though they are all requested. Guess everyone else who want them are out of points like me :)

Think about this for a second. Selling trade credits is Goozex's ONLY form of income from the site (that and selling points). How would it make sense for them to give you a trade credit each time you sent a game? They aren't a charity.

I'm sure they'll work out a way for you to get some trade credits. I don't know why you're having this problem with your credit card, but you are right that they should have an alternate method of payment for people like you, or for people who don't have credit cards. I would think paypal would be a good option. At this point, they could just set it up as a sort of emergency alternative and do everything manually (i.e. you paypal their account $10 and they manually give you 10 credits).
Yes, down here as well.
Yes down for us as well. It really is system maintanence...sorry for the troubles....

First thing in the morning I'm calling Cybersource to figure out the problem...I'll PM you the results...

If you're looking to send angry emails about the site being down...please start with Network Solutions...

Really sorry for the down time...

wow, angry emails aready? It's only been down for a few hours from what I can tell, lol. Hopefully they can get it back up and running soon

wow the site is still down.

dear goozex

YOUR SITE IS DOWN ............................................... GET IT FIXXED................................... Punch in the nose.......................... you hear me............................... so get it fixxed NOW

LOL i wonder if that is what some of the emails looked like. I cant belive people are getting upset about a trading service being down , its not like they are selling PS3 systems

hope its back soon i had 1 or 2 games i had to confirm

Looks like it's back up but most images are still not showing up. Hopefully they are working on that.

Thank you. Sorry if my last comment sounded harsh, but it's frustrating having something that should work end up not working.

I noticed that a user who requested a game from me recently has 320 feedback but has only sent out 15 games. How is such a thing possible?

Can't tell you guys how nice it is for us to have the graphics back up and our content provider working well...yesterday was a long day...

The guy you agreed to send to was an alpha tester with us...we did a lot of system testing on how the trades would be handled without actually sending games out in early summer...seems like years ago now...

Good eye though b/c I got worried there for a second.

Or in other words, no worries because the guy has been around for a while now and is a reliable person : )
On a side note, anyone else doing any trades with Kupofather? 5 out of my 6 past trade confirms have been with him, it's really strange and funny at the asme time.

i hope someone puts up

chidlren of mana, magical starsign or FFV soon : )

also im seeing some werid games listed

Championship Manager PSP as far as i can see this is only a UK / Australia release???

will these work on the USA systems?

If not i think there will need to be a way to see what games will work and what wont work.

psp games are not region locked (only psp movies are).

I have CM for PSP posted. It does work without a hitch.

BTW, I'm the guy you're sending Street Fighter to.

I've got some nice sports titles for PC available on there. I'm surprised they haven't all been nabbed. I have shipped a couple of them.

Just a question.

Can you list a game complete if it's missing a bonus item? For example I have a complete copy of Dino Crisis I was going to list, but it is missing the Resident Evil 3 bonus demo disc that was originally with it (I bought Dino Crisis used that's why it's missing). The game is otherwise complete and in great condition, it's just a shame to have to list it as manual/disc only.

I was just curious what the policy was and if other people had listed stuff as complete in similar situations.

Today I got a GBA game (Lego Star Wars). It has no label on it -- the guy had scotch taped a handwritten note on the front of the cartridge that said "Lego Star Wars!" I had to insert and remove it from my game boy a few times before it would start up. I opened up the cartridge and it does have "Nintendo" printed on the circuit board, so I don't think it's counterfeit (although I don't really know too much about how to tell the difference). Still, I'm not entirely pleased. I didn't necessarily plan on selling it or anything, but without the label the cartridge has very little resale value and I kind of feel like the guy was trying to get rid of it the only way he could. And ideas about how I should handle the situation?

I notice that there are now more feedback options available:

POSITIVE

The game I have received plays perfectly, and the condition is as I requested or better

The game I received plays perfectly and the condition is as I requested, but the overall package quality is not as good as expected

NEGATIVE

I requested a "Full Package", but received only a "Disc + Manual"

I requested a "Full Package" or "Disc + Manual", but received a "Disc Only"

I received a wrong game (i.e. I requested a different game than the one I received)

VERY NEGATIVE

I received an unplayable disc

I received a broken disc

I have NOT received the game
(You have X more days left before you can report this game not received)

The game I received is a pirated or illegal copy

Maybe in the situation I described about my GBA cartridge, I should just choose the second of the two "positive" options.

I'd leave negative feedback for that, trading a game on Goozex that wouldn't be accepted for trade by any used video game store is unacceptable. I'm glad I didn't get that game now, as I had it on my request list.

I have noticed a ton of Japanese imports showing up on Goozex in the last day or so. These includes imports for all systems, including PS2, which won't work unless you have a Japanese PS2 or some method of playing imports on your system. Were these listed accidentally or are they a permanent part of the site? If so, they should be clearly labeled as imports so people don't request them thinking they are a U.S. release and then not be able to play them. For PSP, DS, and GBA, it doesn't matter since imports aren't region-protected on those systems.

I also noticed a lot more demos and Playstation Magazine discs are on the site now, which is cool for those collecting them, but the prices seem a bit off. 300 points ($15) for an old Playstation Magazine disc? Seems a little pricey. I have some I'm willing to list on the site, but I doubt if anyone will request them from me for that price. Seems like they should be more like 50 points...100 tops.

What Japanese games? There's hundreds of titles. For example, click on PS2, then click on Puzzle games. You'll see a ton of Japanese titles. I'm not talking about available games, just games that are in the system that can be listed on the site now.

I actually like the idea of having Japanese games on the site as I collect them, but they really need to either be labeled as imports in big red letters or put in a separate section of the site. I'm wondering if imports are showing up on the site on purpose or if it's accidental though.

----

On an unrelated note, I'm having horrible luck getting games lately. It's been 10 days since I requested Mario Vs. Donkey Kong for DS. I'm going to give the sender a few more days, but the fact that he isn't answering my PM asking if he has shipped is probably a bad sign.

Senders have flaked on sending me Lethal Enforcers I+II, Final Fantasy X, Muppets Party Cruise, Pac-Man Fever, Dance Dance Revolution, Red Dead Revolver, Simpsons Road Rage, Spider-Man 2, and probably one or two I'm forgetting since I started using the site. Of course, I've received around 60 games, so the failure rate isn't that bad, I guess. I still like the idea of not giving users points for games until they are received though. It would stop 100% of the scammers. Goozex is very good about giving you back your points and trade credits when you don't receive a game, but it still bothers me when a dishonest trader gets some free games by claiming to have sent some out.

Yeah but it would totally suck to be at the mercy of someone else to get your points in a timely manner. A lot of people I've dealt with have taken FOREVER to get around to send me feedback and acknowledge that they had received the game, a few even having to be "closed by system".
I can't imagine having to wait a couple weeks to finally get my points and use them. The fact that you get your points right away is probably the coolest thing about Goozex anyways. I could understand restrictions on new traders until their first trade or two are received and confirmed, but I'd also hate to chase away new users considering they are the ones bringing cool new games to the site.

My thoughts exactly. If I sent off a game and immediately saw a game I want in the available now section, that puts me on hold for *atleast* a week before I ever get those points and can request the game. I support getting the points immediately. As Goozex said, he hasn't had too much of a problem with people who were stealing points.

The truth is a lot of the older games (ps1/DC) I have traded for have come in conditions that game stores would find unacceptable (or at least charge a refurb fee for). They all work great so I'm totally happy, and they meet the criteria for the site (they work well with no skipping).
I hope that Goozex maybe adds to the rules that you cannot send out stuff like icruise received, games with serious outer damage. Another example of this being a trader sends you a complete game but the manual/insert look like they've been urinated on.

At the same time I don't want people sending me negative feedback because the game I sent them doesn't meet their personal standards for the condition of the game. I don't want to get a bunch of collectors on the site that are expecting mint/near-mint games for their personal collection, Goozex is geared more towards casual game colectors/gamers and people always need to remember that.

I think that's one of the most refreshing things about trading on Goozex, I don't have to worry about the hassle of meeting someones' criteria for condition. I generally trade things that are in excellent condition, but if I'm sending out an older game(that I bought used) with some minor/moderate wear I know that I don't have to worry about someone getting pissy about it. Likewise I know that a game I'm receiving may have some wear, but I also know it will arrive in reasonable condition and work or I can get my points back.

That's not what I'm talking about. I've left positive feedback for several games I've received that were scratched to hell but still worked. I've also left negative feedback for two scratched up games that didn't work. However, a game with no label can't be traded into a gaming store even with a refurbish fee, it's just not acceptable.

As for waiting to get your points, I don't think it's that big of a deal, I'm a member of quite a few trading sites and Goozex is the only one that gives you your points right away. I always get delivery confirmation, so if some one doesn't cofirm they have received , I ask them nicely to do so once I know they've received my item. It's rarely a problem.

I see what you are saying. All my local game stores would refuse badly scratched games(even if they work) on sight, so that's what I assumed you were talking about when you said unacceptable.
I also fully agree with you about the ripped off label on the GBA carts. It would be the equivalent of someone writing all over a PS2 disc and then trying to trade it... it works about had zero value. That's why I think there needs to be a feedback option for stuff that works but in totally unacceptable condition.

Regarding receiving points immediately, I know it's different from other sites and that's why I like it. I think it's one of the big reasons that Goozex is doing so well.

I'm going to wait until I hear what Goozex has to say about the cart with no label, but I'm leaning toward negative feedback.

I agree that getting your points right away is a good feature, and I don't think it should be changed unless fraud becomes a huge problem. Even then, I would think there would be other ways to deal with it, such as further limiting their ability to get games without first getting positive feedback. No need to punish the majority of users who have already proven their trustworthiness.

I have a question that I hope can be clarified for me. I have been slowly and systematically listing games in my collection, and what I have found myself most easliy doing is...is to look at the requested games, and then listing those games first specifically. I then come to find out after I list my listed "Requested Now Games"...and all of my games listed are in Mint and fully Complete condition...I end up being well within the queue. I just don't get how this works. If the games are requested, and I offer them in Complete condition...why wouldn't there be at least a trade initiated between the two parties? I understand that I may not be at the top of the queue, but should a requested game and a subsequently available game, being that they are one in the same, wouldn't that force a trade between the two parties, if the conditon types are the same or better. Please advise and clarify this for me. Thanks.

Just because something is requested doesn't mean that the person doing the requesting has enough points or trade credits to go through with the request. You might find that some games (especially the more popular and expensive ones) might have a bunch of requests but no one can actually go through with the trade for lack of points/credits.

While that technically makes sense, I thought that one of the many benefits of Goozex was that it was more accurate and fluid marketplace. I guess that I have been proven wrong. I really had high hopes that this marketplace would facillitate faster, more efficient, and more equitable trading.

I don't understand what you mean. If no one has the means to pay for the trade, how can any system, no matter how efficient, make them trade with you?

Hi everyone...

Was away for a day...let me see if I can answer some of the questions.

Manchowder -- If you receive a game that didn't come with a bonus disc then you can report the second positive option. The sender does not get the full 10 feedback points in this case

Remember, you can email feedback @ goozex if you want to contest a feedback received

icruise -- We have included the second positive feedback option for exactly this type of situation. So our policy is to use the second positive feedback. I understand that if its an especially bad case like yours that you'd be angry and felt you got a bad trade -- I'll PM you to get further details...

Rictor -- We got a huge upgrade on content from Muze...better management on imports is on the way -- also the points will be lowered on demos

On a side note, Rictor your recent string of bad trades is not showing up as a trend...meaning that we don't think there are scammers on Goozex (except Bliz96!!) -- fingers crossed we think that most of the bad trades are due to new users not being clear to send the day of commitment...

So my job is to better communicate to the new members that when you agree to ship you must ship that day...

Ok thanks!

Right...thats like saying that if there is demand for an item, and you supplyt aht deamnd that it should sell equally to what is demanded. But what if the people demanding it have no money?

Same thing, people have the item on their request list but just don't have enough points. For example, I saw Enchanted Arms up for available now a couple days ago and decided to request it since I had enough. I was #11 in queue and I got approved over those other 10 since I was the only one who had the points.
