Also it so annoying when people dont confirm that they have received their item. My dc shows that this guy received this movie like 3 days ago but they still havent confirmed on goozex.
This.

Interesting story. Lesson is get delivery confirmation...but my cheapassness got in the way.

-Made an account.
-Only two slots intially; shipped and received feeback for both.
-Now three slots; all got filled immediately; shipped within 20 minutes of receiving order because I wanted to get my slots up fast
-Got an email from the guy saying he didn't WANT the item, but rather wanted to SELL the item
-Great, so...I already shipped it and can't cancel it; didn't add tracking because being a cheapass, I didn't want to pay 80 cents for DC; going to print through PAYPAL, but was waiting for my PRINTER to ship from AMAZON before doing so

So fast-forward more than a week later. Guy still hasn't confirmed he has it, it's blocking my ability to get to "5 slots", and he's unresponsive. Sigh.

The item was still in the stage where you need "positive feedback" to get the points...and now it's just sort of in limbo. How well does Goozex handle "bad" transactions. I hope the guy responds soon, but due to the fact he didn't "want" the item to begin with...I don't know...

Comments on Goozex I guess...seems to be a great place to offload a ton of my crap..erm...stuff I don't want anymore, but as a buyer, I'm not filling *anything* I want. I still haven't matched a single item, and I think I have like 20 things in my queue list.

Use Paypal shipping. Delivery confirmation is included, and it's like 15 cents instead of 80.

It can take a while to get stuff you want if it's in high demand. With games, a lot of new releases take me 4-6 months to get. But there's lots of older, lower demand stuff you can get right away--and for less points.

Movies will be slower for a while since it's a new feature. Once more people are trading it will get better, especially for older releases. But there will probably be longer waits as lots of people are probably like me. Buy movies and want to keep the vast majority of them forever, but with most every game it's see the credits roll and throw it on Goozex. So some really popular movies aren't going to get traded as much as popular games since more people will hold on to them permanently.

I've gotten two Blu Rays and have 2 more on the way, so I can't complain to much. I'm just glad I can turn my games into movies since my interest in gaming has been declining a lot. And I can ditch movies I want to get on Blu-ray, even if I don't end up getting the Blu-ray through Goozex.

anyone know if UPS is cheaper to ship because 80 cents for DC is crazy and UPS offers it for FREE
...so I don't even bother PMing the slackers and just wait for the system time out to get feedback.
How long does this take? I couldn't find any info on "feedback timeouts" anywhere.

Guy I sold too has 600 transactions under his belt, so I didn't really think it would be an issue, but unless he just went on vacation, I think he's slow playing me on purpose because he didn't even want the item to begin with. I've PMed twice and haven't heard back; already gone through another shipping cycle without hearing anything.

Paypal shipping labels are very nice, now I wish USPS would just take them from my mailbox! They won't pick them up unless you schedule it in advance and then you have to be shipping at least one item via priority mail...bleh.

Got my first 50 point "tip" from a buyer yesterday. That was pretty cool. Most of the stuff I've been selling are factory sealed, so the buyer appreciated that. :)

It's 21 days until the system feedback. The system sends the "buyer" reminder e-mails at 7 days remaining and 3 days remaining. Then it goes to positive feedback.

The guy is probably on vacation or something, I've had that happen a couple times where I forgot to set vacation mode before leaving and got matched up for something.

That's odd that USPS won't take them from your mailbox. I put them in the outgoing mailbox in my condo complex mailbox area with no problems. Just find a blue mail box on the street somewhere near you and throw them in there. I used to do that where I lived before as my prior place didn't have a box for outgoing mail period.

So I listed and already have 2 'matches' on DVDs. Do I just confirm these and ship them (and collect the points)? Or do I have to find something on their list?

Going through it...any way to list information on the title? Like I would like to say "Includes Slip Cover' or something to that affect.

Just send them out and you'll get points. There is no direct trading with specific people, its all done with points and matching.

Ship your 2 items out, once they arrive the buyers will give you feedback and you'll get points and start getting matched to receive stuff.

Ok, another q...

Just got a scale. a DVD in package weighed 4.1oz. I'm trying to ship via paypal and it only lets me enter in POUNDS and OUNCES not 4 OUNCES .1

Should I just leave it at 4?

Just send them out. It doesn't work like other trading sites. You send out game and get points (and buy trade tokens for requesting games). Once you get feedback on those you'll have points in your account and can get matched up for games/movies equal to or less than your point balance. After you get some positive feedback (I think it's ten) you'll start getting the points as soon as you agree to send out a game/move, rather than having to wait for feedback to get them.

Nope, you can just choose disc only, disc and manual, or complete with disc case and manual. No other details.

Probably fine to leave that at 4.

But it's not much price difference if you want to round it up to 5 to be safe.

Thanks guys.

One more...

I printed out some postage. I taped that onto the package. Will the scanning gun at the post office be able to read through my clear tape or should I only tape it on where no text is showing?

Just don't tape over the barcode.

I usually just tape around the border of the label. Sometimes I just use a glue stick instead.

Yeah, it probably won't be any issue either way, the instructions just say not to tape over the barcode so I've always avoided doing so.

And I mean the one at the bottom where the tracking number is (assuming it's a paypal shipping label--not sure if they look the same through USPS or directly from goozex).

...and I selected tomorrow as the ship date for some of them when I want to mail them today LOL. Man of man I am a newbie at this. Do the ship dates via Paypal matter all that much? It says my postage wont be valid until tomorrow even though they charged me already.

No, those don't matter at all on Goozex. Not sure about the Paypal dates, but that probably won't matter either. I just always print them with the current days date though.

On Goozex I always pick ship in 3 days to give myself time as sometimes I'm busy and don't have time to pack and ship the game for a day or two.

Once you mail it out, you can go in and click "Confirmed Shipped" and enter the tracking number and it will send an e-mail to the other person with the ship date and tracking info etc. So the person will get the real ship date and info that way.

The days until timeout were recently changed (not sure exactly how recently though). Now it's 15 days until the system feedback , with reminders at 5 days and 2 days remaining. This was done to speed things up. Plus with the dispute system , it still gives some safety net coverage in case the seller had trouble getting the game out or had something happen to it in the mail.

I think the exception to timeout time is in regards to trading outside your region , in which case I think it defaults back to the original 21 days.

Odd, I pulled that info from the FAQ in the forum on Goozex. Guess they haven't updated the info their yet.

Wow, got The Aviator on Blu-ray today, and it was still factory sealed like the first two movies I got.

Now if I could just get Casino Royale--first person send Quantum of Solace instead (which was fine as they cheated themselves out of 100 points) and I've been matched up for it again for a while, but the person hasn't confirmed shipping yet, despite accepting the trade to ship out by the 31st. Sent a PM just now.

Yes the update has been great. So far I have gotten...

Carnivale Season 1
Carnivale Season 2
Pixar shorts Blu-Ray
Blade Runner 5 disc Blu-Ray
300 Blu-Ray
Top Gun Blu-Ray
Dragons Lair Blu-Ray
Semi Pro Blu-Ray

And I have send out 15 standard DVD's to cover the costs. Nice getting rid of DVD'd and upgrading to Blu's for no money.

Well, if each pkg. cost $2 to ship, and all requests fulfilled cost $1, I wouldn't exactly call it free. Plus, take into consideration the original cost of the DVD.

Cheap? Most definitely. Free? Not quite.

OK upgrade for $3 I'll take it. If I could upgrade every dvd I have to Blu-Ray for $3 a piece I would do it in a heart beat. The upgrade is really great.

Oh yeah. I totally agree. However, there are a few DVD/HD-DVD's that I would have been better off buying them in Blu straight up instead of doing all this damn trading. :)

I don't usually bother to confirm shipping, as half the time I'm shipping 10 packages at once and don't want to take the time to add the tracking number as the Goozex site is often extremely slow for me, as is the post office site. That's what happens when you ship during prime evening Internet hours, I guess.

Yeah, it got confirmed after I PM'd him. He sent it out 6 days past the agreed date, per his PM, but c'est la vie. I got it today and it's in good shape which is all that matters.

I always confirm and enter the tracking info, but I don't think I've ever shipped more than 4 at once. And after the first month I signed up I just send something out maybe once a month or so--spike from adding movies aside.

Just finished loading my 60+ HD DVD's onto Goozex. All but 2 (Failure to Luanch & Smoking Aces) were in their system. Any way to get Goozex to add them to their list?

Hoping that at least a few of them are requested. But some like King Kong had a queue line of 95. LOL! Luckily, I was first in line for quite a few of them though.

My issue with my seller was resolved; got mah points.

Finally matched something on Goozex yesterday. Can't say I like the "insta-match" though. It would be nice if the buyer had to "confirm" they wanted it too, like how the "seller" has to confirm. Especially since I have like 20 things in my buy queue and some have "higher priority" in my eyes than others.

What is the point of feedback if the buyer has no oversight into what they're buying? Guy I matched with has a bunch of negatives, and if I saw that on eBay I wouldn't touch it...it speeds up fulfillment I guess, but it makes feedback pointless.

Moving on...I wasn't intiailly too fond of the "size" of #2 package envelopes (they're huge for a DVD; bought 100 of them on Amazon), but everything I've shipped has been

Yeah, the matching is problematic that way. I just make sure I only have active requests of stuff I really want, even that means waiting a bit longer so I don't spend points on low priority items. I wait and list those after I've got all the higher priority stuff I wanted.

Feedback just serves to weed out the bad traders. I assume people get booted from Goozex if they get enough negative feedback. It's also a way for you to get your points back if you get the wrong item, or an item that's in terrible condition etc.

As for #2 mailers, I think they're ideal if you're going to by in bulk. They don't really weigh any more than smaller sizes, and they're more functional since they can hold most smaller boxed sets, a few DVDs or games, books etc. If you're 100% only mailing games and dvds one at a time, then you may be better off with a smaller size. But if I was going to buy 100 I wanted something I could use for damn near everything I ever mail, and not just games/movies on Goozex since that's 1 or 2 a month at most usually.
