Grammy nominated King Diamond screams "Metal Heads Unite!!"
You post in the MySpace metal forums, don't you? I think I recognize your picture.
Yes I do.You don't look familiar though, lurker?

Sepultura's upcoming comes out in November, not 2009.

I'm waiting for albums by Kreator, Saxon, Artillery, Asphyx, Pestilence, Atheist, Orange Goblin and Flotsam & Jetsam. A good portion of those aren't confirmed, but highly likely.
Yes I do.You don't look familiar though, lurker?
Nah, I post every so often under the name "The Disgust", usually in punk or grind related threads.
Power metal = no go.
I'm a fan of old school Savatage which is power metal. I like them until they made "Streets" which was an awful album. Really the band died when that guitarist died - Chris Olivia. He was awesome!

I saw them on the Hall of the Mountain King tour and they were great. Fast forward to about 2003, I saw them in a small club and it was easily the worst concert I have ever seen.
With a couple of exceptions, I'd have to agree. Power Metal is a no-go for me.
Have you heard Pharaoh? Their vocalist is Tim Aymar from Control Denied. Their first two albums are great, but I haven't heard the one that came out this year.

Nope, I've pretty much given up on looking into power metal. I'm happy with what I've got, but only because the few I do like border on other genres I like.

I kinda like the new Exodus remakes. But I wish Souza was back in the band.
Bolt Thrower just got added to the MDF 2009 bill.

fuck.:bomb:
Haha yeah better get my tickets soon. Who needs Wacken, when MDF is just 20 minutes away from my house! I'm probably going to have Ryan(one of the promoters of MDF) on my show soon for an interview.

I always thought Destruction was the weaker of the "big 3" German thrash bands. I could never really get into them.

The guitar work on Chinese Democracy is fucking epic. Like, some of the best on a mainstream rock album in a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time...like since maybe the UYI albums.

I thought that for awhile too, then I acquired "Thrash Anthems". This remastered album really shows off how great they are.

Kreator to me has always been the fastest and most aggressive, Sodom the heaviest and better songwriting, but Destruction really has them beat out in the drumming and quality riffs.

It's got some good solos, some of them I find drag on too long, especially on the second half of the album.

Kreator's new album is excellent. The speed of it alone reminds me of their earlier work, but with that post-Violent Revolution songwriting touch. Only two songs I'd say I don't care for on the album and not a single song stands out, very consistent album.

Maybe Destruction will grow on me, I dunno. They haven't yet. I do like the Cracked Brain and Release From Agony albums though. Mad Butcher is ok (love the title track, but the version I have is weaker for some reason. I've heard a better version out there), but I dunno.

Ah, it would be awesome to see Destruction live. No way I'm going to fucking Jaxx in VA, fuck that place! Also, I've landed an interview with Mike Muir next week, don't know if I should do it.

Do it please. For me. I will totally tune in. I love Muir. Every interview he does is hilarious cause he goes on this long winded rant about people not being themselves or some shit like that. I love what he says though. You gotta do it man!

If you do, ask him when the fuck Rocky George is coming back and when he's going to reissue the No Mercy album.

I'm afraid I don't know much about the band or Mike. I have the first four ST albums and that's about it. I feel like I wouldn't be able to do a proper interview since I'm not a "big" fan and haven't really followed their career.

Just say your down with Suicidal and Cyco 4 life and wear the flip hat while you're doing the interview and you should be good. How long would the interview be?

Here is something to blow your mind:
Napalm Death's 2009 album Time Waits For No Slave has leaked and is quite good.
That it is. Definitely adding that to my buy list.

Pestilence's upcoming "Resurrection Macabre" is scheduled for a March 16th 2009 release.

Oh fuck yes! I love all their albums, yes even Spheres. Can't wait to hear the new stuff, good year for old school death metal fans.

Yo Crim thanks for giving me a heads up about that doom show at the Double Door. Too bad I can't go. I'm dirt broke and the show is 21 and over. I hate that shit. Almost all the metal shows I wanted to go to have been 21 and over. I missed out on Motorhead and a bunch of other bands over the years cuz of that shit. Oh well. I'm gonna miss another one in a few weeks. It's playing at a bar/club a few blocks from my house. Rival and a Judas Priest cover band are gonna be playing.

Rival is an awesome band. They're from Chicago. I'm not really sure how well known they are outside of here, but everyone should check them out. I've seen them live twice and they were great.

Hell yes! Towson! I'm on the guest list too, going to smoke up with Paul! Also, that sucks Blackout, there's some awesome bands on that fest. Have you been to Kuma's yet? You should document your trip there and post pics here. The Mastodon burger looks good.

Na man not yet. I'm gonna hit it up during winter break and see what happens.

So I'm watching the Sarah Silverman Show and that dude Brain Posen(sp?) is wearing an Evile shirt. Since when did this band get so big?
If anyone cares (like me :D), new Armored Saint in 2009.
I like Symbol of Salvation and Delirious Nomad. Those were pretty good albums...

Yeah I love those albums too. I'm a huge John Bush fan, he's one of my favorite singers. They always had good guitar work too. Lyrics were always on the cheesy side but hey.

NWOBHM band Tank has announced a new line-up.

Guitarists Mick Tucker and Cliff Evans remain in the band.

Original vocalist/bassist Algy Ward has "retired" from the band.

Original drummer Mark Brabbs (recorded on Filth Hounds of Hades, Power of the Hunter and This Means War) is back.

New to the band is vocalist Doogie White (ex Rainbow/Yngwie Malmsteen) and bassist Chris Dale (ex Bruce Dickinson).

The article I read also hinted at some touring!

Armored Saint is one band with which I've never crossed paths. I think the only song I've heard was "Last Train Home", which was pretty good. I need to check out some of their full albums. John Bush is also one of my favorite singers.

Oh man you need to check them out ASAP. Bush's vocals go so good with the guitars. I think they are criminally underrated.

Tank is coming back? I still can't get my hands on any of their music.
