I found my first handgun on the pedestrian walkway on Boker Bridge (I think. it's the one that looks like Brooklyn Bridge), it was just laying there halfway across. so, I picked it up and kept going and in a flash I had 6 stars and cops all around me, choppers shooting me from above. I booked it back across, zig-zagging my way through a hail of bullets, took cover in the stairwell and waited them out, that didn't work but I did get the achievement for 5 minutes at 6 stars.

also, there's a shotgun in the office of the strip club on the north island.

the first building with the stairwell you don't go up, just go through. the second building it'll be on the second to the top floor, around a corner there are two blue doors, blow the lock off the second one.

I just
boxed him out by rapidly tapping Y. Eventually he dropped the knife when he was almost dead, i picked it up and stabbed him to death. Its a hard mission because you have to beat up two guys before that, and there isnt time to replenish your health.

I was invited to a party of 3 people who were on my friends list, all of the tried to invite me and no luck. Then i played a race online against some random people. So i dunno, its weird.

I disarmed him with that timed block move, and then with the stabbery.
 
did amazon raise the price on this? was pre order last week $50 right, now its reg retail $60? anywhere i can get this for less than $60?

quick funny story...

i carjacked a 4door with 3 people in it. the person in the rear didn't have a chance to get out, so i drove around at high speeds with them still in the car. when i slowed down enough, he dove out of my moving car and right into a car that ran them over

Thanks, didn't realize the pigeons were the "packages" this time around. I'll keep an eye out for them from now on.

yeah, it's pretty good, I found myself watching Katt Williams stand-up comedy routine and some other stuff, I might leave it on at some point just to see what else is on
 
wait, did anybody NOT get a 1 month of gold free? Im too poor to buy gold had to use my repair 1 month, i thought someone said you get one in the case? my GTA didn't have one ;_;
 
Quick question....
Does anyone know if you use the cheats, will they permenantly block out that achievement or for just however long the cheat is taking effect?

Also, the one month free of Live, will that work with an older account or just a brand new one?

Are you serious? I thought it came with every copy. I got mine from CC and it had a black GTA 4 insert in it right in the front. I assumed every copy had that.

This is my first game for the 360 (mine was delivered the same day GTA 4 came out which was a total coincidence), and I am really impressed with how good this game looks for a GTA game. It looks so much more realistic than the PS2 GTAs that I almost felt apprehensive about driving around the city like a maniac.

The first pedestrian that flipped up onto my hood actually reinforced that fact for a while. Once I got used to the more realistic look and physics, I was back into the GTA groove, however.
 
I don't think I've laughed so hard at a game in my life.

On the "First Date" mission, after bowling I kept walking into the girl to push her into the chairs. She would fall over on them then roll off and stand up for me to just keep doing it to her. One time, she fell but held onto the table to keep from falling all the way down .... she must have gotten trampled because the next thing I knew it said "Michelle is dead" and my mission ended.

I couldn't stop giggling like a 10 year old girl.

The guys at work were talking about this one and I had NO idea what they were talking about because I
ended up following behind the guy closely in my car and running him over before he ran up the stairs. I didn't even know you had to go and fight him.

It's cool to see that GTA is still really open in how you can accomplish your missions.

I did it like this:
I boxed him a little and got him close to the window. When I hit him near the window, he recoiled back and broke the window. I repositioned myself so that he was directly in front of the broken window and knocked his ass out of it.

That's funny because I did it pretty much the same way.
I didnt even mean to knock him out the window. We were just fighting and I was about to try the 'disarm' move when he rushed me. I hit the shove button and he flew out the window. Funny, I thought I did something wrong at first.

I actually wanted to jump down after him to finish him off....and to see if I could keep him knife.

What's really funny is I played for a couple of hours without a single weapon. That seems very surreal to be in a GTA game without a weapon. Tonite though, blood will flow! :bouncy:

BTW: I didnt get a free 1 month card either. It's not really that big of a deal since I have like 3 yrs worth of live via the TRU Vison Cam clearance but still, it was disappointing. May stop by the GS I bought it from and complain.

I have heard on GameFAQs that some copies didn't come with it.

Anyone have problems with their game disc? Mine is fucked, won't read for some reason, worked alright yesterday. Tried it numerous times today, off to return it.

Nah I pre-ordered from Amazon and it was $60, not $50. Totally think that it's worth it with the online play and all. Plus Rockstar are awesome developers so support them.:applause:

I've had a song from the game stuck in my head since I first turned it on. It's so damn catchy, I had to download it and put it on my iPod. It's the song played when you first get off the boat, but you can hear it in some other cut-scenes and on the Russian radio station as well.

Not my usual musical preference, but I must admit, I fucking love this song.

how do i progress in the mission :(

it seems like all that i can do is take Michelle out for dates, and roman for like, darts and drinking.

So, I'm playing with my friends on Free Mode and we're talking about how awesome this game is.

And I mention that it would be sweet if there was a Zombie Invasion mode where all of the Citizens of Liberty City were zombies, your choice of fast or slow moving zombies and its a 16 player survival mode.

And if you get eaten by a zombie, you become one, the longer you live. The more your brain evolves and you are able to pick up weapons and wildly shoot them.

This would be sweet for DLC.
 
I am about four hours in and am having fun, but I have two questions.

First, I was out with Michelle when my car caught fire forcing me to abandon it leaving the flaming mass to collide with the nearest building. Blazing Michelle ran screaming out of the car before collapsing a few feet away. I was then prompted that she was dead. I tried calling back two times later on, but my effort was to no avail; she wasn't home. If a girl is killed on a date is she dead forever or will she eventually respawn?

Second, (spoiler from early on in the game [about the 4th or 5th Roman mission])
I played the Vlad missions for awhile before deciding to continue along in the Roman storyline. On one mission I ended up having to kill Vlad (I don't think you are given the choice). My question is: Did that mission open up to me after completing a certain amount of Vlad missions (all of them) or could it be triggered at anytime (thus preventing the player from completing some of the Vlad missions)?

Pretty sure its after a certain amount of Vlad missions because I got it after I finished a vlad mission, not at a random time.

Yeah, that song is pretty cool. I even understand three of the words they use in the chorus: ein, zwei, drei. Yay, three years of German in High School. Although, I think the rest is not in German.
