Yea, I am not saying that it looks like a PS2 game, infact it looks quite nice. The problem that I notice is that it does not have a smooth framerate, and that is just in the clips that they decide to show us. However, I do not want them to tone the game down to the extent that it has to look like a PS2 game inorder to run smoothly.
 
Maybe im blind, maybe i just haven't been gaming as long as some people

But i like the graphics, it fit's real well with the GTA world. It amkes me more pumped up for the game.

Well, I stand corrected. I REALLY anticipated another hold up that would have sent this date spiraling toward an October release. I'm ecstatic that I was wrong and more-so that it's so close to finals (I can wait a few weeks, but anything more would have KILLED me).

The end of April can't come soon enough!!!!!11!1!!!!1!1

I read from somewhere that the game was finished last year for the XBOX360 and would have been out in October but since they were having issues with the PS3 version and they were under contract to release them simultaniously we had to wait. I wish I had a link or remember where I read that...could have been just a rumor.

Well i see it ass Rockstar covering its back, If they released the 360 version months back, No doubt you'd either see 360 sales going up or PS3 sales going down and Sony losing its head in the GTA franchise, and would no doubt sour future relations between rockstar and Sony. Like how the Orange Box was released on the 360 first and about a month later on the PS3.

That or Sony payed Gobs and gobs of filthy cash to hold back both versions until the PS3 version is completed.

Overall i hope it isnt a true rumor, I would LIKE to own a PS3 one day and hopefully something great will come of it...But for now...Meh.

It comes out 3 1/2 weeks before my birthday, close enough for me to consider it an early b-day gift to myself. I did the Liongames preorder, too. :cool:

"it's really no surprise to anybody that the PS3 was definitely a contributing factor to that. Now, we're neck and neck. That's not an issue anymore. But back then that was something we were taking into account. That's not to say there's anything wrong with the PS3 version. It's awesome. They're both identical."
 
Rockstar updated its main page for GTAIV, its got some pretty sweet new videos and pictures not to mention the awesome beat they got on a loop on the main page, cant wait to get the soundtrack as well

Multiplayer rumor

GTA IV will contain a deep multiplayer mode, including deathmatch, team play ("Cops 'n Crooks"), and some sort of ranked cooperative missions. Our source specifically talks about modes called "Deal Breaker," "Bomb da Base," and something called "Hangman's Noose," but gives no further details. The game will also feature ranked multiplayer races, likely across the game's open roads of Liberty City.

I'll be getting this one at full retail cause I simply can't wait to cause chaos in Liberty City again. Just hope that they got that framerate at a steady 30FPS.

Could be. Who knows there are going to be some more previews that will tell all about multi player and more about the game during the later part of this month.

Im pretty sure he constructed that to make it seem like XBL would have more modes, but if anyone called him out on that he would probably says something like "XBL offers a more robust online experience."
 
Is there something significant about that number?

Between this and the exclusive DLC, Microsoft certainly has the GTAIV launch locked up, IMO.

not specifically, i just think that such a large number of giveaways will entice people to preorder if they are currently on the fence.
 
Bomb Da' Base sounds awesome. I'm picturing something like cs_assault except instead of saving hostages your planting a bomb. That's a Counter-Strike reference for those who are completely oblivious to PC multiplayer games.

I am not too sure about that. MS had to cough up so much money to rockstar for the exclusive stuff, it's doubtful they will make it back. But it is part of a longer term goal of solidifying the 360's domination.

Just preference. plus playing on a PS3 controller feels more at home for me since all my GTAs have been played on sony systems.
