Poopies bundles have been shit for a long time now unless you have a collector fetish or think paying $2 for 50 cents in cards is a good deal. I've not seen one game in the last ten or so main bundles that I've been even remotely interested in playing.

Hilariously enough even Humble has been dropping the ball. Currently the ranking is probably something like Bundle Stars>Humble>Indie Gala>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Poopies. Not even going to bother counting Indie Royale.
I would agree, except the VN bundle was really good. I've forgiven Poopies due to that bundle.

I...actually agree with this. Bundlestars is the only site I even get semi excited about now. In fact, collecting +1s on Steam has gotten so depressing I went and started a GoG collection.
No matter what service you decide to get a +1 with, a +1 is a +1.

It's all about +1's.

Sure, Steam might be the place most of us - yes, even me - have the most +1's with...

...but I don't mind putting +1's for up titles on UPLAY; ORIGIN; GoG Galaxy; other services; etc; etc.

Especially when it comes to big-time AAA titles.

-> i.e. Witcher series on GoG; AC series on UPLAY; Dragon Age series, BF series, ME series on Origin; etc etc.

No kidding. I don't think any of us knew that. Thanks for letting us know

At the end of the day, I feel that we are all entitled to our own opinions. I don't really need +1 for Steam necessarily, it could be DRM--free, itch.io, a game on greenlight, or even ebooks or music, so personally speaking, Bundlestars is further down my list, and I in fact pay the most attention to IndieGameStand, then it's a tie between Humble and Groupees, followed by IndieGala/Bundlestars/Flying Bundle/Steam (in no particular order) and then the rest. But hey I am in the minority on this site, so I rest my case there. Thank you guys for the civil discourse here (and for actually having much more a variety of opinions compared to some sites I go to...)

Groupees is the worst for me, simply because if it were not for them I would have never seen that stupid dancing cat gif, and I wouldn't have to see it in motoki's avatar every time I browse this forum. Damn you, Groupees!

Okay new faceless person who takes everything here suprsiriusly, I will explain something sirius biz this once.

Games on Indie Game stand tend to either have already been or will be bundled elsewhere with multiple other games that actually is a better deal when you consider the price per unit.

So actually, in most cases yes it is cheaper to pass on Indie Game Stand. Even at $1.

But what about all those excellent games that showed up on IGS once and were never bundled again?

I wish Tremor would cut it out with the expensive ass Steam gifts. No some 3 dollar game is not worth me watching 80,000 dollar hair videos, thanks.

*Edit: Wrong thread but leaving it here because what the hell?

This is your brain on +1, kids.

Okay WGN ones are, I admit, some of the weaker ones, those along with KISS and Shinyloot, but apparently I own NONE of them, and I have over 1500 games on Steam. One is also a 25 dollar game on Steam with 2 dlc also included.
And you know this how? Ancient Poopees Secret?

From the chat.

WDN - 19:34: 6 games + 2 DLC confirmed. This will be in Tiers, so I suggest you pre-order.
WDN - 19:46: So the word "Journey" is in the title of one game and in the description of another and the MMORPG is the one with 2 DLC
WDN - 19:50: So the Tiers will be Tier one - 4 games ($1.25) and the Second Tier is $2.50 for the rest

Hmm, something that never forgets? Could it be a play on how marijuana affects short-term memory? Journey of a Roach confirmed.

Never surrender? Does Radical Roach have "journey" in the description?

Guardians of Graxia has two DLC, right?

Pragmatic guesses brought to you by Blade. "WDN, these bundles suck!"

"so to be clear - One GL game and two DLC (steam/GL) but that was hard to describe in hints"
Imagine playing charades with the morans in the Groupees chat...

*does seizure motion repeatedly*

*masturbates to picture of Johnny*

"I have no fucking clue."

"It was The Shawshank Redemption! Come on!"

CHECK THAT LIST and if I OWN IT, CROSS IT OFF YOUR GUESS LIST :p

There's only 1 game that interests me in the new WGN bundle so I'll pass. I think it's a +4 for me not counting DLC, but the games aren't very interesting.

Isn't Van Damme the bad guy in this one? And he's only in a few scenes?
Yea, he's "The Russian" and has a supporting role as the villain. The final fight is kind of cool, and the movie has this neat thing in which the protagonist is training with Bruce Lee's ghost. JCVD made this before hitting it big with Bloodsport.

Okay now that I found out your other identity I will start being nicer to you because you always bitch for keys for bundle buyers when I am too fucking emotionally exhausted to do it.

So thanks.
We can be good cop/bad cop. You be nice to him while I continue to complain about Groupees.

Seriously though Spoder, how many times have we sat in Steam chat and you told me about some dev being a total dumbass about keys and I was like 'Ugh. I'm tired. I don't feel like dealing with it. Let LetsMaybeLP92 bug them'.

If it's any consolation, spoder, the "LP92" part screams 23-year-old Linkin Park fan and makes me hate him even more.

CRAWWWLIIIING IN MY SKEEEEN

SQUEEEAAAALIIING ABOUT HOW I FEEEEEEL

The Let's Maybe part sounds like some hardcore Engrish. Like something you'd read on the wrapper to a curry bun in a bakery in Tokyo where Japanese girls dressed like European peasant women with kerchiefs on their head smile and sell you weird baked goods with ketchup and shit.

So many fetishes of mine...so little time.

That bundle had an actual porn VN (not just a "mature" game with adult scenes) in a $10 tier.

That completely invalidates it.
If you mean that it's too expensive for that game, you obviously don't buy that many VNs. The game by itself is $20. Edelweiss by itself is $30. And yes, people pay for it. Not me, but stupid people do buy it.

If you mean that the game was unworthy of being in the $10 tier because it was a porn VN, then you're wrong. Those are the "games" that are worth it the most.

It's too expensive for the normal Poopees audience. Obviously it's a niche sort of thing. Still, I would think most people who are really into it would have it by now.

It wasn't exactly their highest selling bundle. And that's even with having a $1 tier with Steam keys, though admittedly there were only two and they were both repeats.

I was actually surprised, it sold well for a niche bundle, and that's without blind preorders. The Groupees Winter Wolves bundle (admittedly a lot lower quality) sold much worse and that was back when bundle sales were higher.

Nearly 4k bundles sold and most people probably bought the $4/$10 tier. I know I'm in the minority, but I'd like to see more VN bundles from Groupees. Certainly better than the non-Carl WGN/WDN bundles that they crap out every week.

to be honest, I would like VN bundles that have steam keys. I am not interested in the porn types though.
+1. I like them but I don't trust Poopees file hosting long term and really don't want to have to deal with yet another site I have some games spread out on.

I would too, but it's clear at this point that none of the major japanese VN publishers want to bundle Steam keys. I can only think of 2 that were bundled, and 1 of them sucks. World End Economica is the only good japanese VN I can remember that was bundled with a steam key.

I think that visual novels can be good games/entertainment.  I think that VNs are catching on per se and hopefully that will translate into more bundles including ones that contain steam keys.  I have noticed more titles coming on steam and if putting eden on sale, for instance, is any indication, the publishers may be coming around to bundling.  Whether it is Poopies, Indie Gala, Bundle Stars, Humble, I would like VN bundles that contain some of the better VNs without nudity.  I think that there are a significant number of gamers that like story rich games.  Some of the "point and click" / adventure games prove this point.  Anyway, yes I agree with both Spoder and Motoki.

wat did nudity ever do 2 u??

VNs have caught on for years but will always be niche. I agree with what Motoki said, if you're into VNs you've most likely already played the ones that will get bundled. nitrosmob is a good example of what I'm talking about.

Steam is really lacking super high quality VNs though. It's funny cuz the VNs that were released for Vita are better than any of the VNs currently on Steam (Virtue's Last Reward, Danganronpa 1/2, Steins;Gate). Steins;Gate actually got a localized PC release within the last year or so and didn't show up on Steam.

I agree with everyone, except for the nudity thing. I like both kinds of VNs. The story-rich, plot driven kinds like 999/VLR, Danganronpa, Lux-Pain, (shit translation, though) Hotel Dusk, Saya's Song, and many others, but sometimes I do just want good eroge like Hitozuma Nurse, School Days/Cross Days, and Reunion. (which will never be translated, *sob*)
