I've received a couple pm's from people wanting to contribute prices but don't want to get harassed about selling to someone or getting more at place x. If this is the case for anyone, you can pm me any values and I'll update them in the list and database.
Instructions on finding games in the database and inputting the values from different sections can be found in my blog post here: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/blog.php?b=14143. I would put the entire post in the thread but this is already kind of a large post.

PLEASE POST BASE VALUES & SYSTEM IT IS FOR.

FAQ
These trade-in values are really low!
While that may be true, if you combine the games with the right promotion they can work to your advantage. There are knowledgeable people in this thread that are normally willing to help.

Is there any way to look at what the previous values reported on a game?
You can search through this thread and previous ones to see what a game has been reported in the past. With the TIV Tracker you can sort by date and then go through the list of past updated values through that as well. Here are the previous GS TIV Threads: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.

Can I trade-in sealed games?
No. You might come across the rare GameStop that would let you do it, but they are going to open them anyway.

Do trade-ins have to have their original case, insert and manual?
No, however it will be YMMV on if they charge you a refurbish fee for them in that condition. Most GameStops wont charge a fee but there are some that charge for incomplete games.

Will they accept my game if it is really beat up?
YMMV. It really all depends upon the employee you get. Some will charge refurbish fees, some wont, some wont accept the game and others just take them without a second glance.

What are the refurb fees on games?
There appears to be set prices for set value ranges. We aren't 100% certain on the splits just yet. Here is what we have currently:
$0.25-$2 Value:
$0.75 Refurb Fee
$2.01-$4 Value: $1 Refurb Fee
$4.01-$7 Value: $2 Refurb Fee
$7.01-$10 Value: $3 Refurb Fee
$10.01 & Higher Value: $4 Refurb Fee
This information isn't guaranteed by any mean and we are still working on nailing it down.

I have a Collector's/Limited/Special edition of a game, do I have to trade-in all of the extras?
No, but there are a handful of games that their variations have separate listings at GameStop: Madden 09 Anniversary Edition, Battlefield: Bad Company Gold Edition, and a few others.

Can I trade in multiple copies of the same game?
YMMV. The official policy is no, but there are some GameStops that overlook that rule.

What all do I have to trade in for a console trade-in?
Xbox 360: Console Unit, power brick, A/V Cables, Controller (wired/wireless)
Wii: Console Unit, Power Cable, A/V Cables, Wiimote, Nunchuck, Sensor Bar
Playstation 3: Console Unit, Power Cable, A/V Cable, Controller, USB Cable
Playstation 2: Console Unit, Power Cable, A/V Cable, Controller (Must be a DualShock2)
GameCube: Console Unit, Power Cable, A/V Cable, Controller
PSP: Handheld, A/C Adapter
Nintendo DS/DSLite/DSi: Handheld, A/C Adapter, Stylus

Can I trade in a defective/broken console?
For the most part yes. If it powers on but doesn't play games, they will take the console as a refurb unit and put a refurb fee on the console. The refurb fee on the console will vary on the price of the console so those numbers will change. You are still required to trade in everything required listed in the question directly above. They will not, however, take RROD 360 consoles. There may be stores that still do it, but official policy is to not take them in.

How much does an EDGE card subscription cost?
It costs $14.99 and is good for a year. It also comes with a 1-year subscription to Game Informer magazine.

What bonuses come with having an EDGE card?
You will get an extra 10% trade-in credit on the base value of the game and an extra 10% off the purchase of used games.

Does the EDGE Card give me a bonus on hardware trade-ins?
No. You will only get the bonus for games and accessories.

What if I want cash instead of credit, what do they deduct?
If you decide that you want cash instead of credit, they will take 20% off the base values and promos will not apply.

Does promo "....." have a minimum trade-in value?
If the promo has a minimum trade-in value requirement, it will be listed in the promo. If it isn't there, then there is no limit. However, as with all trades, they are subject to manager approval so the manager could have setup his own little rule-set requiring a minimum of whatever.

I used a Power Trade promo for a pre-order, can I cancel that pre-order and get the credit or move it to another game I want?
Yes on both accounts. However, if you do a bunch of the power trades and just straight drop the pre-order you could create some ill-will between yourself and the employees you cancel on.

I just tried to use a promo that has a select list of games eligible, but they say my game isn't eligible anymore, what gives?
Basically they have the right to change the eligible games at any time. They tend to update these frequently so as to lock out any easy/cheap games. It's best to check the eligible list the day of your trade.

Can I stack two different trade-in promos?
No. The only thing that will stack with trade-ins is your EDGE card.

If I pay for an item using all credit on my card, do I have to pay sales tax?
This varies depending upon the state you live in.

What states charge sales tax on purchases paid in full with credit and which ones don't?
Charge Sales Tax on Credit Purchases: Alabama, Arkansas, California, Florida, Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Utah,
Does Not Charge Sales Tax on Credit Purchases: Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, Wyoming
No Information Yet: Connecticut, Idaho, Kentucky, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, Rhode Island, South Dakota, West Virginia

My state doesn't charge sales tax on purchases made by credit, why is gamestop.com charging me tax?
It is just the way they have designed their system. The best theory we have seen is that since you are only inputting the number off of the back of the card, it isn't going to pick up the programming from the specially tagged EDGE cards. Some kind of programming that gets input from their system that wont show up when only inputting the number off the back of the card.

First post contains promo information and the FAQ. Second post has the 360/Wii/PS3 values. Third post has the PS2/GC values. Fourth post has DS/PSP/GBA values.

So since best buy is currently having bioshock 2 CE on sale for $50 with the SKU, can i buy it, keep all the collectibles and just return the game/manual/case to gamestop for 40 bucks?

Yes, if the TiV stays at 25 and you have an edge card. It is also $40 in store credit, not cash.

No, they don't stack.
No, they don't stack.
They stacked once I believe, it might of been the last time they did a B1G1. It was an error, but I believe people order did ship on it.

But generally no it doesn't stack.

Has anyone been able to find a used FFXIII at GS yet?
After talking to someone at GS today and seeing some posts on this thread lately it seems that they have a new corporate policy (as in not specific to any state or area) that they have to hold trades for 2 weeks before they can sell them. This sucks because even though the website says they have a used copy of FFXIII at a local location they will not be able to sell it for at least another week and there will always be a minimum 2 week wait to find new releases for sale used.
I was able to pick up a used copy of BFBC2 for PS3 that was just "made available for sale this morning" for only 35.75 after coupon/edge with my GOW3 purchase.
This also sucks because in the long term they will offer lower base TIV since they now have to bear risk that a game they just took on trade will decrease in value before they can even put it on the shelf. On the flip side trade values for the newest games may be higher initially since people will not be able to "flip" the newest games from one store to another during a promo such as B2G1 as easily and any trades they take in during first 2 weeks will not include any copies they sold used meaning fewer potential trade ins as well.
no one posted TIV for gow3 yet? haha
It was $30 on their board today someone can add that if they want.

3/16/10 Base TIV

360
Bioshock 2 - $25
Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood - $9
Fable 2 (Platinum Hits) - $5.50
Mass Effect - $10
Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising - $9.75
Skate 2 - $5

That's not true, I picked up FF13 used literally the day after it came out. The guy at gamestop said someone bought the 360 bundle and didn't want the game.

Part of the reason I asked was to get a general consensus as to how widespread this is, since we all know that even if it is supposed to be corporate wide, GS employees are not always the brightest bulbs and sometimes do things their own way.

Not really. They may have just wanted to get a good deal on a new console. They got a 250 GB HD and 2 controllers with the new console and offset the cost by trading in FFXIII.

Although strange, it's a good deal for them if they wanted the console only.

Today's spoils:

Riddick > $4.00 > $6.40
Shellshock 2 > $3.50 > $5.60
Bioshock 2 > $25.00 > $40.00

Got Metro 2033 WITH Shotgun Code for $8.55 :)
Yesterday

PS3 - Resident Evil 5 - $7.00/$10.50

Traded it in to pick up RE5: Gold Edition to have all the DLC already on the Disc, It just knocked $10 off the price, wasn't too bothered with it. figured the trade value might help someone who thinking about trading stuff in.
Bet you were ticked since it just gives a token to d/l the dlc? I was gonna get it till I read that it was just the original RE5 with a code and it had a $50 price tag. Screw that.

MW:2 holding steady at $26.75 today... 42.18 after promo and edge was too good for me to pass up. I was only playing multiplayer sparingly anymore, anyway...

:360: Halo ODST - 15.00 / 24.00
:ps3: the Bigs 2 - 6.75 / 10.81
:360: EndWar - 3.75 / 6.01

Already entered in the trade value tracker.

hmmm...with MW2 holding there...i may have to trade it in to rebuy at a later date. i have 1 for both systems (different friends) and haven't touched either in a while.

any idea when the next B2G1 will be?

Surprised my store had both a Final Fantasy XIII and MLB 10 the Show used, but when I opened them up, the manuals were really fucked up.

Anyway. Dante's Inferno for the PS3 is still going strong at $25 base. Got $40 out of it after bonus and edge

The DLC is on the disc already on the PS3 version. The 360 edition is the one that comes with a code...

I did a few more trades today since the 50% promo is ending soon. Here's the base value/after EDGE/promo values:

:ps3:Tom Clancy's Endwar:$3.50/$5.60
:ps3:Red Faction Guerrilla:$5.25(went down $.50)/$8.39
:ps3:Hot Shots Golf: Out Of Bounds:$7.25/$11.59

Considering I 'paid' $25 for RF:G(120 gb 360 HDD from Kmart shipped out for $11), $20 for the Endwar bundle(traded in the headset last week for $24)and got Hot Shots Golf from Sears for $5.17, I'd say I made out pretty damn well imo.

Anyone trade in Sonic & SEGA's All Stars Racing for :360:? I'm going to stop by later today but was wondering if anyone knew of the price before I waste a trip down there.

EDIT: Just got a chance to call them...trades for $15 before the 50% extra...weak!

What's the God of War coupon? You get it instore or off the website? Also, on the Promo they have on get GOW for $19.99 do you have to trade in 2 games or if you trade in 1 game on the list towards GoW you get $20 off?

Thx in advance

Sonofabitch. I forgot about the 25% coupon when picking up GOW3. I could've picked up another recent release.

Oh well. Here's to hoping that B2G1 materializes and all of the $50-55 games I want are in stock then.

Go to any store with your GOW3 receipt and the coupon, they will honor it ... I did this with the last one, quick painless return/rebuy (but I did not bring the new game back, just the receipt).

As of 3 hours ago:

PS3
CoD MW2 $26.75
Pinball Hall of Fame: Williams Collection $2.00

So yes, MW2 held up. Yet the board did still read $22, but I ain't complaining! Even traded it in as disc only!

Got $46+ for those and it went towards picking up God of War 3. Paid $15 and change for the balance. I'm a happy camper.

I should but the CAG in me wants to wait and see if they're gonna have the B2G1, since then the three games for that deal will be less than if I bought ONE now.

Just got back from Gamestop. This is a great promotion. I only traded in a bunch of old games but was able to pull in $86 with Edge card stacked. Walked out with a free copy of LBP:GOTY which I was looking to pick up. So I'm happy.

I don't have MW2 but I checked for a friend and the clerk said it was valued at $26.75 like jiggyteddy just posted.

Yea you're right haha. I've seen employees dump games I've returned and clearly said "I just don't like it" in the trash bin.

FYI: I don't know if it's a national sale or not to coincide with the release of God Of War III, but my local GS had the boxes for both of the PS2 GOW games marked with special prices. I believe it was $5 for the original God Of War and $9.99 for the second one.

And before anyone asks, these prices were for the USED copies.

well, lol, this cag is picking up my GOW on the 18th (last day of coupon) with a 25% off title (not sure yet), then I have my 7 days to find out if the Buy 2 get one happens, if so just return/rebuy this game with two others ...

No extra trips just waiting 2 days for GOW... BFBCompany 2 online is great and will easily be fun for 2 days ...

Those are the used deals of the week. In the OP of the coupon thread, JP always lists what game (s) have price drops for the week or are the used deal of the week.
