Guess the Game from the Screenshot
Let's see here... capitalist_mao was indeed right. That was Under a Killing Moon, the first of the 3 FMV Tex Murphy adventures. A damn fine series of games... No new puzzle yet, but I'm thinking about it. :) In the meantime, here's a couple of my arcade favorites.

Peter Packrat!! (First one) I only found one once in my life, and it was years after its supposed release. Great game.
3 is Arcus Odyssey
11 is M.U.L.E
Correct on both accounts! Actually, 10 and 11 are both M.U.L.E. (overwrote one of my image files or something). Anyway, that leaves:
1) Guardians of the Hood (cheesy name for a cheesy game)
2) Spinmaster

The rest are all lost on me.
Correct! That just leaves #4 and #7 (see above).

Here's a few more before I turn in for the night......

16) Elevator Action
17) Haunted Castle (or, in some circles, Castlevania Arcade)
19) Iron Horse (had to research but it was easy to find, easy to tell it's #20's predecessor)
20) Sunset Riders ("Marry me and my money!")
21) Cowboys of Moo Mesa

From Bluewing, the second game is Majuu No Oukoku. Looking up character names. :)

16 has got to be Elevator Action 2.

Good greif, I go to work for nine hours and this thread grows two pages!

I'm just pissed I didn't get to "B.C. The Quest for Tires" first.

Good call on 17, 20, and 21! (and very close on 16) Plus, bonus points for the quote!

"Marry me with my money!"
"Erm, alright....I now pronounce you Money and Wife."
Now someone just needs to post a screen from Adventure with the dragons that looked like ducks. :p
Yes, I loved stabbing ducks with arrows. Good stuff.

-----DM
Absolutely. I wish it would show up on one of those retro collections...
Dark Adventure. Shame on you for posting a screen with names on it ;).
Well, I can't make 'em all brain busters. It's better than my Ghostbusters post that had the GB logo at the bottom... :)

Time to add some more...
Ok, this time I KNOW this is the Guardian Legend.
Yeah, I remembered how much I loved this game when I was a kid after you mentioned it earlier, so I think it's only appropriate that you got the answer now... :)

Still no one got this one from pg. 17:

And here's a new one:

Tryin' to keep it somewhat oldschool, a lot of the screens in the past few pages im clue-less. I'm bettin' either kaw, Darkside Hazuki, or woobacca can crack these.

Whomp'em!

Also thespamofpower, I got the Sword of Hope one a few pages ago. :)
14 really looks like a version of Gradius...given the little options wondering around....
It sure does! You're very close.
Wasn't it "bury me with my money" ?
Yes, that's what he's *supposed* to be saying (the speech is printed onscreen as well), but it comes out sounding like "Marry" for some reason.

I could start a whole sub-thread on mangled speech in video games. My two favorite of all time that my friends and I came up with back in the day:

1) X-Men: COTA: Even though Wolverine's "Berserker Barrage!" was pretty clear, we always prefered "A 2-Car Garage!"

2) Street Fighter EX: I don't know what Guile says during his super move, but it sounded an awful lot like "I'll take you camping soon!" Definitely one of the strangest threats to ever come out of a game character's mouth.

Haha, my personal favorite:

Mario> Let's pickle!

I think 14 is Salamander 2 now.

Also, did I get 19 right? Iron Horse?

Well you bet wrong. I know the first one is Raid over Moscow (C64). And the second one is GI Joe (C64). Haha, I love that game.
The first one is destiny of the emperor.

Sim Ant.

Brutal
All correct.
Since the other ones I've posted have been answered pretty much immediately, here's one that is probably less well-known:
Since apparently no one has played this, it's a game called Armor Ambush.

It's a bit like combat, but each player starts with 25 tanks, and you control 2 tanks on each board. So it's a real action/strategy on trying to take out the other guy's tanks as you switch your control back and forth between your two tanks. Whichever one you aren't currently controlling is a sitting target. Sooooo much fun. The game ends when someone gets down to zero.

Used to have this when I was a kid, but for the life of me, I can't remember it... (Gimme a break, it was like 19 years ago... :D )

Gah!! I KNEW that first one looked familiar! I think I played it at my friend's house a couple of times. Never did end up getting a copy for myself.

s45lz.jpg

Probably should give a hint. It's a PS1 game. Has 2 disks with one being the game disk and the other is a tutorial. You design the Mech and it's AI. Alright, I'm pretty sure that gave it away.

Carnage Heart?

ding ding

Strell got Carnage Heart right! Use to play the hell out of that game. Might have to start it up again.

Mr. Unoriginal got Secret Weapons of Luftwaffe right! Have the box/ floppies sitting on the shelf. My uncle gave it to me a few years ago. Never did try it out.

LOL Just opened it up to find the 3 floppy disks and a CD-Rom of 4 tour of duty extensions for the game. Odd combo. Also has a 90 page game manual plus another 225 page wired manual of more game mechanics with historical data.

Drat. I recognized the text that was used, not to mention there was a bi plane flying sequence in the game at some point in time. Also, as an aside, my Uncle gave me Indiana Jones and the last crusade. Of course, it wasn't a few years ago, but more like a decade ago or more when it actually came out ;)

I believe this is Street Cop, which used the Power Pad to play...

What? No new posts in almost an hour? Here's some more old-school lovin. I distinctly remember playing this forever back in the day (might be too easy for this crew, but whatever).
