yeah if thats true...then thats fucked up. I would rather have the gh3 programmers fixing actual problems(example: xbl star power glitch) not coding in some 1handed drummer bullshit for an overpriced song pack.

Let me tell ya this might be my first and last guitar hero; DLC was real let down. I was expecting more and viewing from the outside in, Rock Band is doing DLC right. I am definitely going to pick Rock Band up when its on sale. Side note...finally passed ttfaf last night - pic 2

Nice! Congrats on that, that song wears my patience and I simply just don't like that band in general.

Though yes, get Rock Band. I was one who was skeptic on it from the start when compared to Guitar Hero, then before I knew it I was playing it more then GH3 and now I have basically 140 songs on there with all the DLC...

Man, though I still have small traces of hope GH4 Activision will try and learn something or at least delay it for awhile to polish it to compete with RB (kinda like how Skate is making them rethink their Tony Hawk approach now).
 
Who the hell cares if they use live versions, does the game take place in a studio? You dont like it check out the preview movie they put up and see if its worth it. Also theyre not making fun of Rick Allen, im sure at this point hes pretty much cool with his status in rock history, theyre paying homage to him.
 
Wow live versions and they don't even warn anyone up front?? The banner on XBL actually says they are from the album Pyromania, literally. Sounds like a bait and switch to me. Bad enough they are tricking people into buying a new song they don't want for full price, but they don't even get what they thought they were paying for either... Wow...I'm pretty much stunned by this.

This will be the my third pack (first two were Velvet Revolver and Foo Fighters), and the first GHIII DLC I will have paid for since getting Rock Band.

Very interesting. I'll have to look on youtube after these are out for my opinions on the expert note charts. Thats what I really look for when deciding on a DLC pack for this game. Additional brownie points are given if I like the song. :)

Why can't we get songs that most people have heard of? I understand that a few of you appreciate this band's music, but most GH players couldn't care less. Give us more classic rock or bands that Middle America has grown up listening to (i.e. "Legends").

With as long as it took Led Zeppelin to finally cave into the whole itunes thing, I highly doubt we'd see anything for the music games. They'd probably want a ton of cash for that.

Yes yes I know.. I only pop it in nowadays to play Cliff of Dover, Knights, and a couple other songs once in awhile anyway. But damn I could go for some Muse. Sucks its not on RB. Those songs have great drums and vocals.

I've always agreed with that. Most of the dlc songs that come out are new bands that I think suck ass, or underground stuff I've never heard of.

Where's the classic 80's and 90's rock/metal?

agreed. Does anyone think Activision will be releasing more crappy DLC for GH3 when GH:Aerosmith is out? Since Aerosmith isn't exactly an update, its just a expansion to gh3.


note: for anyone going for the "Long Road Ahead" achievement, the 100 wins are probably ranked. Just got my 102nd win and its still not unlocked. weaksauce :/

500 points right? Hmm.. I only really wanna play Stockholm, I really like SMBH as a song but it looks sorta boring. The Exo note chart doesn't look that fun either. Man I need some more free points so I don't have to debate on every download.

SMBH is kinda dull, yeah, but Exo-politics is actually fun (not difficult, but enjoyable) and Stockholm Syndrome takes a little time to get used to.

Just buy the pack. It's worth it. :D

Hahahaha are you serious, I got that song, Violet Hill, from coldplay's site for free and I can tell you it is no guitar hero song?! There is a solo but its a slow song and a lot of parts with NO guitar. Stupid PR for Coldplay's new album.

You might want to check yourself on the John Mayer comment....He's one of the best guitarest around right now. I'm not a huge fan, but you need to respect his skill. It's not on his mainstream songs.....but do some digging, you'd be SHOCKED.

Yeah, he's good but talking general music they've released he wouldn't exactly fit in with the game (like Coldplay). Though yes, I do admit he has some guitar skills and my friend keeps telling me how amazing he is on the Fallout Boy cover of Beat It.
 
I like Coldplay a lot. Some of there songs would be ok for Guitar Hero, but not that one. Hopefully it will just be free to promote the album, then there's nothing to bitch about.
 
Havn't you guys realized yet that GH3 will get NO good DLC anymore. Any and all good songs that you want in the game are being saved for one of the next 15 itterations of guitar hero.

However I must begrudgingly admit... if one of my FAVORITE bands got their own Guitar Hero edition, I'd be all over it in a heartbeat. This is why I hate the masses. I bet that cold play DLC will sell. People have been asking for that kind of bullshit, and now they are getting it.
 
I'm not crazy about the coldplay DLC. If it's free, cool....whatever. I'd love to see more hard rock/metal DLC...for instance, why no Pantera? They pay homage to Dimebag in the game.

Clearly, they're focusing their efforts on GH4. Even GH Aerosmith was a test run for some of the new tech used in GH4.
