PS3 elite is getting free shipping for me. I think I'll get the Elite bundle since it's only $5 more than the Extreme bundle (charges shipping) when I use the 10% off coupon.

Where does it say that these get free shipping? It's not yet giving it to me for the Wii Elite.

Oh, it's free shipping over $100. Hence most of these are not applicable.

It says it if you click "Guitar Hero" from the little menu up top, it shows all 3 elites get free shipping, but it seems no one is getting free shipping on the Wii Elite. I may just order it with coupon for $95 and email them to fix it.
 
I think the problem is that it says free shipping on the front page, but it's in contention with the stuff you see when you place the order, which says "free shipping on orders 100 or more." At least, that's what I saw at the top of the page when I was finishing the order.

I imagine that PS3/360 bundles are cleared since they will always be over 100, but the Wii bundle with the coupon comes to 90.

Here's hoping they fix it. I mean I'll take the damn bundle for 95, but 90 is a little sweeter.

Yeah, $95 is a good deal as it is (cheaper than I'd pay at the store, with a bunch of extras), but I'll see if they'll give me the $5 off.
 
Yeah, I think I'll order it now and wait to see what everyone else's email results are. I'll shoot 'em an email if the results are good, but $95 is still the same as I'd pay at Gamestop, plus all the extras. I mean, I was happy with $100, so that's cool. :lol:

And to reiterate, I preordered GHII from RO and got it two days AFTER release.
 
Some of you certainly are brave...after being burned by them last time (I ultimately disputed the charge with my card co and won), it won't be happening again. Plus, I'm certain there will be a promotion like CC had last time out, with a free points card or something.
 
This is pretty sweet. While I always ass out on shipping, the coupon effectively cuffs that bitch into something more reasonable--$104 and change--plus I get the free promo add-ons. Shit, this is something I have to think about since I'm getting the fuck ing expensive Rock Band set.
 
Man, $60 for the game alone on 360? That's ballsy with Rock Band coming out at the same time. If both games are $60, I'll probably only pick up one of them, and I don't think it will be GH3.

You're one of the few bad reports. It's not like there's 50 people saying "ZOMG STAY AWAY". Sorry you had a bad experience, but it seems like they're generally pretty good.

My problem wasn't with getting it after launch date by a couple of days. To me that was no big deal considering the bundle I got for the price. Not all of guitars had issues after the online update. So of course you are talking smaller numbers here. The issue isn't with the shipping it is soley with red octane after sale support with 2 broken guitars. The bag was nice, but the fact that the week of launch cc had it with free marketplace cards, I was not happy with the fact that the deal/bundle they offered wasn't much better then what I could have gotten at launch, and the fact that I had to get my cc company to take care of getting my money back rather then having them replace my guitars.

My issue was dealing with there customer service was horrible. Finding a telephone number was damm near impossible, and when I finally had one it was activision and they claimed it is up to red octane. Red octane only has Customer service via email. I had issues with buttons sticking and the whammey bar. The updates did not fix the issue with my 2 guitars. I submitted at least 5 if not 7 or 8 requests to get it replaced. Every single fucking time I would get a denied request with instructions to DL the update, and instructions on what to do if that didn't work. I would do that and then get denied again. That experiance is the worst customer service I have ever dealt with and I very rarely bitch about that type of thing as the cust service rep is only human. If the new guitars work fine, then no big deal this is a great deal. But if the guitars have glitches/broken and you need to replace it, I highly doubt they have fixed there customer service side of things. I had such a horrible taste in my mouth from that experiance I have thought about not picking up GH3 as I don't want red octane getting any more of my money. I hope rock band is good enough of a game to take care of my interest into this style of game

I haven't looked to see if they had any updates, but check there website for customer service contact info. I highly doubt they give you a telephone number. Like I said, if there is NO problems with the guitar, then go for it, but if they have issues you wil be fucked and will need the cc to get your money back.
 
I ordered both Guitar Hero 1 for the PS2 and Guitar Hero 2 for the 360 directly from Red Octane. Both were great experiences. Both were with two guitars and came packaged in a huge box. Got them the release day.

Does anyone know if Rock Band will be able to played with GH3 guitars and vice versa? I'm planning to upgrade to the wireless guitars, but I really don't want four guitars (six if you include my 2 wired GH2 360 guitars -- I'll probably sell those).
 
I'm in Cali as well and my total for the PS3 Elite bundle was $107.16. I would have payed $96.97 at TRU with my discount, so $10 for all those extras sounds good to me! Now I'm off to go return my pre-order at GS!
 
Hmm... I dunno which gutar to get. The Les paul is supposedly the cooler guiitar because it costs more, but it looks like the standard guitar with its less rounded shape, will be more comfortable to hold both sitting and standing.

Any comments on which people think might be more comfortable? I'll probably go with the standard.

There were far more than a 'few'. Then try the threads about it on Neogaf, videogametalk, scorehero, and all the boards that had people that got bent over by red octane on the last release.

And to clarify, if it would have been delivered, say, the Friday after release, it would have been fine. A few days, meh. But we're talking 2 full weeks late. And it was broken. And I couldn't get a replacement, despite making 8 complaints over a 5 week span. It's not like I'm making some petty 'wah' claim. They fucked up, and there's no reason to think they've cleaned they're shit up for the upcoming release. They still have no customer support page, no way to contact them, and the same shopping cart software as far as I can see on their site, which means cancelling orders is non-existent near release date, and your order process status may or may not be updated.

I got free shipping on the 360 Elite Bundle only after I added the 10' USB extension cable for my GH II guitar ($6.99) which I wanted anyway. The 10% coupon brings the total of the Elite Bundle below $100 so if you add a cheap accesorry to push the total beyond $100 you should get free shipping.

Meh, I'm happy with $95. It'd be nice if it's fixed but no biggy I suppose. for the record, I'm talking about the Wii bundle.

Here's something I'm sure has already been answered. Can you download GH1 on the 360? I have GH 1 and 2 on PS2 and would like to sell them to get everything on the 360. Good or bad move?

Also, wasn't there some info on the GH guitars working on Rock Band?
 
I work for Activision and employes get about 60% off all Activison, and Activision related merchandise. Id get be-headed if i posted any coupon codes do. But this is a good deal for the rest. Never had any problems ordering straight from red octane.

What is the trick for free shipping? I tried to order the elite 360 bundle but it shown $4.99 shipping charge there. Is that because after coupon the total drops down to below $100?

Wait, here's a possible dumb question...

If the game is to sold on October 28th (a Sunday) according to all the websites, when exactly does that mean we'll get it? Since i'm gonna go on a limb and say UPS...mehhhh, not exactly open on Sunday.

I don't know if this has been posted yet, but it's ONLY free shipping on orders of $100 or more. So the 89.99 Wii bundle doesn't get free shipping.

But shipping and handling (for me at least) wasn't added until after I put in my info and got to confirmation screen. Eitherway I e-mailed them to bitch, even if I dont get it it's only $5 and it's still cheaper then B&M in store after tax with the elite bundle.

In your cart, you can enter your zip code and a coupon code and itll give you your subtotal. If you do that, shipping is show the whole way through. If not, then you see it at the time you did.
 
Well looks like free shipping applies for orders 99.99 and up...since the coupon drops it down...then a $4.99 shipping fee is applied, which is actually pretty cheap considering that its UPS and its a big package.
 
Well, it was only $9 more for the t-shirt and guitar faceplate after the coupon, and I wasn't gonna get free shipping anyway, so elite bundle it is!

Still doesn't explain why they show free shipping even for the $90 bundles. Either the error is on the listing, or the error is in the checkout, either way, hopefully they'll give me $5 off. But if not, I'll survive.
