Halo 3 - General Discussion & Info

For the people that have opened a LEGENDARY:

Does the Legendary come with a regular sealed Halo 3 or a special boxed version?

I'd like to buy a regular edition to play while I wait for my Legendary to arrive.
 
For those of you that got the game early, are the achievements working yet? I noticed the gamerprofiles show no gamerscore:

EDIT: Also, just noticed that the Collectors Edition comes with exclusive Gamerpics and Theme...does the Legendary not have this?

hey fullhavok was your Limited Edition halo 3 discs damage? I am tempted to switch over to the regular edition after hearing the stories about all the LE discs being damaged because of the shitty packaging.

^^That was the dumbest post on the history of CAG. Worse than Slidecage's, easily.

I took it over my brother's house today and we sat down and played it for about 7 and a half hours straight, start to finish. It was phenominal. I will be playing through it again. And again and again and again.

when i 1st opened the box, both the disk's were lose , i was sooo piss't off, i saw a few scratches, but nothing big. my son has been playing it on his 360 in his room from 7:00pm & it's been fine, & the achievements look like they are working for him, i sat in his room for a few mins & let me tell you the game looks soo sweet. well i told him he can play till midnight, then it's on for me!!!! i'll be popping it in my 360 in my room. @ 12:01 am. lol so be on the look out for my gamer tag.

I'm pretty sure the CE inside the Legendary is for press only? Because isn't the Legendary supposed to have an extra disc and no artbook?
 
Just so you guys know that have it early: Everyone's experience and online rank was reset today. It makes sense why they are doing this because they don't want us to get an unfair headstart so I'm expecting the experience/ranks to be reset the day prior to release too.

Also do any of you guys know where the clan support is? I can't find it anywhere. Is it even in the game, you know like in Halo 2 you could easily find your clan and stuff.

I haven't checked but that's how Halo 2 worked, it allowed guests...come to think of it so did the Halo 3 beta so I don't see why not.
 
There's an option for Live Guest in the menu.. so I'd be surprised if it wasn't possible.

Afterall, what better way to sell someone on live than to let them play at a friend's house?

Linkin, thanks for the update on the guest thing. That'll be great. I've got a friend who's mainly a Nintendo guy but would like to see what all the hype is about. Figured we'd play through the campaign local and if he felt good about the controls take it online.
 
I told you guys a day or two ago about the CE's being scratched. It's a crappy situation.

Since I beat it (albeit not on my account, but I don't feel like playing through campaign again), i'm going to retire it until people play online. Enjoy the campaign, it's fun, the last level or two is damn near impossible and you'll know which one i'm talking about when you play it.
 
Damn..just read the Circuit City ad for this week and it says *minimum 40 wall graphics per store* shit man I preordered there for a reason..they better not fuck me over cause I won't get to pick it up till mid-day.
