How do you decrease/increase the difficulty in the Solo game because my girlfriend wants to learn how to play and I don't want her to try at Heroic which I would play through?
 
I never dealt with the guy with the gravity hammer. I made a point to taking a few minutes to take out any guy I could from above ground, I'm thinking Arbiter took care of him. I did see him though. I shot him a few times with BR and he went into cover.
 
I'm not sure if Halo 3 is causing this but ever since I got the game, my system locks up when accessing my Friends list. Can anyone confirm?

If you are in the Xbox Live blade, select Friends and select any individual person that is online to see what they are doing (basically view their profile). Then hit B to back out and your system should lock up.

This doesn't work if you access your friends with the Xbox Guide button or if you select your Friends list by pressing Y in-game.

It only started happening after I got Halo 3. It isn't a biggie because I can avoid this by accessing friends with the Guide button, but just wanted to know if it was a Halo 3 thing.

Edit - Nevermind, I found out it is a server problem. Too many Halo 3 players causing havoc.
 
Okay, maybe I'm an idiot but how do I pick up skulls? I've been through the first level and come across two but I can't get them. I've shot them, held various buttons like RB, etc.

Right bumper (or was it Left bumper), it also took me 5 minutes to figure that out on the one and only skull I found. :oops:

Do the skulls even do anything? I have yet to find one and just looked on youtube for vidoes of the locations. I'm in I think chapter 8 and it is a bitch.
 
Is this the thread for the best game ever? Honestly this is the best game i have ever played on the 360. I got to say after halo 2 dissapointed me this is amazing.
 
Just...beat....Legendary....so....tired...I played for 6 hours straight with my friend to finish. It was awesome getting over 400 achievement points for beating it on Legendary, I feel proud of my gaming accomplishments, finally. Also got to see the TRUE ending with my own eyes, it was pretty cool.

I still think this game and series has and will always have the greatest soundtrack ever...it was absolutely EPIC when
you're fighting the 2 scarabs in the jump ship thing...especially on Legendary...it truly was an awesome battle. The music was simply amazing for it too, just right.

And I haven't even STARTED multiplayer battles yet. :D

I had the same problem the first time seems like they are glitched, sometimes you have to restart the level/last checkpoint and try it again, but it is with RB.

Hard to say. I think I enjoyed Gears of War's co-op a little more but playing on Legendary with 4 players online is pretty tough to beat as well.
 
You know, I had a great time playing this game, until I got to the mission before last. The mission I'm stuck on now.

Let's see, how can we make the most annoying monster ever?

Okay let's start by making it small and hard to hit.
Then you know what, let's make it so it travels in packs of 15-20.
And you know, just for kicks, we'll make it explosive too.

No you know what, that's not annoying enough.
Let's make it so that there's little bubbles on the wall and if you hit one of them, kill an enemy near one of them, or step on one of them, a pack of 20 of the little critters comes out.

But wait, let's make this even more annoying. Let's make it so that you're limited in ammunition in the area, to only weapons you can hold limited ammunition with! So it's like crappy guns with crappy ammo and LOTS and LOTS of enemies.

Everything up until this point of the game was a 10/10, story, gameplay, enemies, weapons, everything. Challenging but not punch the wall difficult.

Then this level came into play. Wow... Talk about tremendously crappy.

This level alone brings the game's rating for me down to a humble 7/10.
 
Let me guess chapter 8? I hated that one and just got done with it. I feel the same as you do on that level. Sad thing is it was where I found my first skull. And I'm going to ask again do they even do anything?

I'm also on this level and it definitely needs more ammo.

Those little flood aren't that bad though. They don't do that much damage (I'm playing on Heroic) and they only pop when they touch your armor's shield.

Gah. I can't even get passed the freaking second level on heroic. You know, the one where they send you alone to face a room full of brutes/ elites/ w/e? God damn it, it I had infinite BR then I could do it, but you get to a certain point when you're out of long range ammo and you have to go up closer. Suddenly, Gravity Hammer bitch comes out and rapes you. The end. So damned annoying.

There's no avoiding it. You have to kill them all. But how?

They all do different things. The gold ones give achievements.

Anyone up for helping me finish Cortana mission? I'm up for Heroic or Normal, Legendary if we can get 4. This mission sucks, I don't even wanna do it alone lol.
 
Finished it, awesome. I can't wait to go through with three others on Legendary. I can't wait to play more. But I am going to have to take some time off to spend with my girlfriend again. :( Well this friday is going to be awesome!
 
Okay, I finally get WHY people play Halo. The multiplayer is great fun. That being said, campaign isn't that great. It's not worthy of the 10's and 9.5's it got. Not even close.

I will, however plan on playing through it again on Co-Op (probably Heroic, maybe Legendary if the other 3 players are crazy good).

It's a good game, great even. But, it ain't 9.5 worthy. It's because of the Campaign. It brings the game down. If it were just multiplayer, I could understand. But because of the campaign, it weakens the game. Stuff that weakens games usually tends to make it worse. In the eyes of the reviewers, WHY NOT HERE!?

That being said, if it were JUST multiplayer, the game would get a 9 for me. The matchmaking right now seems slow. I guess that's because there's a lot of people on the service, but they should've been prepared, and they weren't.

I just beat the game on normal. It is the first of the three that I have beaten. The first one I got all the way to the end but just ran out of time every time I played it. The second one I just never beat. I don't even know how far through it I got. I just got tired of playing it. I just don't understand one thing about the ending. I saw the legendary ending on youtube and still don't get one thing. So if someone that has beaten it would PM me leting me know they beat it so I can ask them I will be greatfull.

Oh man. Just finished level 2 on heroic. The game is intense. I don't even know how I"m going to finish it it's so hard.

You guys must be damned good, I don't see how it can be like a 6 hour game on herioc. It takes me like a 2 hour interval for each level ( just becuase I screw up alot ).

Yes, it wouldn't be fair otherwise lol. But you have to beat the level with the skull.

Can someone please tell me how to adjust the sound settings? I can't find it in any of the menus. It's the first 360 game that doesn't seem to have it in the start menu. I feel the music is way too loud and the sound effects are way too quiet.
 
I beat campaign on Heroic solo just about 30 minutes ago. It was intense. The 8th level was a total bitch though in the sense that it was so much harder than any other level. The last level was great and I liked the ending also.

I just got off playing with some CAG's (including a silent CheapyD) and I have to say
Zombie
mode kinda stole the show for me. Great fun. Test in 5 hours. Gotta study :(

Just beat it on Heroic myself on solo, I'll have to go back and do the terminal thing (which is worth it for the backstory) and the skulls. I'll probably do Legendary on co-op later.

There were spots that were aggrvating, but I was usually taking the wrong approach. Really enjoyed the game.
 
I finished Heroic a few hours ago with Kendal. The second to last level wasn't the most fun I've ever had but other than that no complaints from me. The final part of the final level is a blast with a partner.

Next up, maybe Legendary with 3 other people.
 
Nearly done after two night of playing and it's been so far. I'm on the second to last level, when you go into the flood monster thingy. So far it's been way better than the last two, but still missing something. I don't know what it is - weapons, more enemies, something. Still, it's been good. After I finish Normal, I'll jump onto live and Co-Op some levels on Legendary and maybe try to get some skulls.

How hard is it to find the skulls? Anybody have a map?

Can you go back and do the terminals or do you need to do them in one playthrough?

more like one for the marketing books than the history books. i think halo's success over the years has a lot to do with it being marketed as the xbox's and xbox 360's flag ship titles. the thing that's almost a requirement when owning either system.
 
Halo 3 = Money. Literately.

Looks like videogames are going to be taken more seriously accross the board. Wether you like Halo or not, you have to respect the fact this this is a videogame and it set the record for all entertainment.
 
I should be getting the game in the mail today. Despite my tests, I think I will play single player for a few hours today and tomorrow and maybe a bit of multiplayer.
