So I went and reserved the Legendary Version at my local Gamestop today and when I got home, I looked closer on the reciept and it says:

Sigh.

I just called them and they did have me on the regular and supposedly they switched me over to the LE. Come game day and I don't get LE, I will be annoyed, to say the least.

Sigh.

EDIT: Yeah, hardcore or nuts. Some people collect stamps. Halo 3 collects me.

I wouldn't trust them over the phone...make sure you go down there tomorrow and get a copy of the new receipt.

I would go and make sure. And force them to print you a receipt. GS employees are retarded.

I plan on getting the CE and the LE I think..

You can, yes. I was just differentiating that the order can be placed online but that I have no idea if you can get it entirely in store (if you didn't have a credit card or something).

It's not allowing me to select in-store pick up for Halo 3 (but it is for the points card) on the site, so I think I'm just going to have to go in and preorder. That should work, right?

The thing is, it's not letting me select in-store pick up for Halo 3. That might be because it's not out yet, but I don't want to risk anything.

They have done that to try to hide spoilers from people. The game has not been activated yet. Once it comes out, you can see everyone's achievements.
 
Hmm... I'm still on the fence on whether or not I should pick up Halo 3. I doubt I'll have any trouble finding a copy, so I guess I'll wait for the reviews/impressions to come in before I jump on the bandwagon.

Note: I've never played a Halo game despite owning a 360 and an original Xbox. :D

I could give two fucks about the story, I'm more interested in the multiplayer aspect. Which I understand is pretty good? Despite the douche bags.
 
Halo 2 multiplayer is incredible. The best there is (at least for consoles). And you're gonna have douchebags no matter what you do or where you go. You're especially gonna have them when you're playing online games. Its amazing how brazen people become when they're anonymous.

Halo 2 MP is fantastic. And if people talk trash, just challenge them and own their ass. Nothing is more satisfying.

I personally love the Halo fiction, but in order to soak it all in, I suggest reading the books, as nerdy as that might sound, they're actually decent reads. Just avoid "The Flood" at all cost. It's a shitty novelization of Halo 1. SO BAD. All the others by Eric Nylund are pretty solid. The graphic novel and comic issue #1 ain't so bad either. The games only cover a portion of the Halo universe, there's a lot of other stuff going on before, after, and even in the same timeline as the Halo games in other parts of the universe.
 
Eh, what the hell. I took advantage of the Best Buy deal. And if I don't like it I can just sell it and get my cost back I'm sure.

I've decided that I'm going to wait it out and get it at Walmart on the 24th and wait all day there.

After preordering the Wii at GS and being the first to get it, then playing it for a while til 3 AM then driving back to Best Buy to wait with friends there, I want that experience again
 
So, here's a random question. Where's the thread signing up people for online co-op? Get it all nice and organized, separating by difficulty and all that. I guess by all difficulty levels Normal and Up, because no one will want to play online co-op on Easy.

Even though some people will call me out, a $40 price tag, free stuff and hype all contributed to me pre-ordering what I feel to be an overhyped monster. Also, over the last 4 days I've beaten Halo 1 and Halo 2 (got it for $10), and for some reason, I liked the second one better.
 
Forget Walmart now, my CC is doing it also.

I was afraid after the Best Buy list where the closest one was on the Kansas side that I wouldnt get a chance, but the Independence CC is on there, yay!

The only additions were some more scenes of soldiers and brutes. Probably added 15-30 seconds worth of new footage. Nothing ground breaking though.
 
An interesting note, the total value of all that I traded into Gamestop towards the H3:LE today and yesterday is $77.7.

By the way, I got the verified receipt for the Legendary Edition so I am a happy boy.
